Chapter 1450: Chapter 1451: Parting Ways
Duan Cheng and Li Kun intentionally fell back a few steps, but did not anticipate Xu Huo and Yan Jiayu being so aggressive. Intentionally lagging behind those three players had its own purpose, but now was not the right ti to break trust, so they offered both sides a step down.
Xu Huo glanced towards Jewel City, not intending to take the step down, “The first clearing mission is gone, players who failed to get to Moon City will probably rush into King’s Castle to plunder. Aren’t you going? Aren’t you afraid all the good props will be taken by others?”
Even if they didn’t know this was a newly opened instance, for players, grabbing so gemstones was always a good option.
“Isn’t there still one clearing mission left?” Duan Cheng stared at him. “As long as The Most Beautiful Gemstone hasn’t been taken, there’s still a chance. Wonder if that Temporary Official Docunt could be lent to us for a bit?”
Failing to set an appropriate identity upon entering the instance ant they lost the initiative, and this instance would only get more difficult as more players ca in. Perhaps even the clearing missions would change, making it near impossible to enter the instance again for cheap gains. Thus, it was best to get everything done at once.
“Sorry, we need that docunt.” Yan Jiayu refused and kindly suggested, “But you can disguise as magic perforrs to enter the city. We won’t compete with you this ti.”
If there wasn’t that docunt, disguising as circus perforrs would be a good idea, especially with current examples in view. But with the docunt, why take such a large detour? Between the two, masquerading as perforrs was essentially a gamble, with plenty of chance occurrences in execution that might end up being fruitless, not even making it into the castle. There’s nothing as straightforward as having an official docunt.
“Haven’t you already cleared the instance?” Li Kun stepped forward, simultaneously blocking Duan Cheng, and negotiated, “Give others a chance too. We can exchange props for that docunt.”
“Where did you hear we’ve cleared the instance?” Yan Jiayu asked in surprise, “If we had cleared it, we’d have left already, why go to Moon City?”
The puzzled tone paired with the sincere expression made it seem quite genuine, and Li Kun was montarily confused as Xu Huo and Yan Jiayu held absolute advantage, with no need to lie.
But Duan Cheng was not easily deceived; he didn’t trust Yan Jiayu at all, “If you haven’t cleared it, why sneak out behind us?”
“You really don’t understand why we shook you off?” Xu Huo looked at the two with a half-smile, “The things we took from King’s Castle are displayed, what about what you took?”
“You knew I’m a Super Evolver, you must have prepared a lot before coming to find .”
“I guess besides props and instrunts to counter ntal interference, there are also relevant detection tools, otherwise you wouldn’t be so sure I didn’t know you went out last night.”
“Since you know we left the room last night, why not think about where we went?”
Duan Cheng and Li Kun’s expressions subtly changed; the forr said, “No wonder you brought the stuff out so readily this morning, you were waiting for us here!”
“You’re the ones who sought cooperation, and you’re the ones who lied first,” Yan Jiayu said, “Do you still resent others for not being a fool? I didn’t expose your actions when you went to collect props yesterday.”
At this point, cooperation was certainly over, and Li Kun, considering Xu Huo’s attitude, said, “Why don’t we each take a step back and clear the instance separately?”
Xu Huo smiled, “Our previous cooperation was quite pleasant; everyone’s just trying to make a living in a ga, no need to turn everything into a life-and-death struggle.”
Li Kun breathed a sigh of relief, nodded to him, and then pulled Duan Cheng away.
“Are they heading back to Jewel City?” Yan Jiayu asked, “Duan Cheng looked a bit unsatisfied.”
“Of course he’s unsatisfied, because he hasn’t managed to trick us,” Xu Huo replied calmly, “He knew where the props were hidden, indicating that his understanding of the instance was not as minimal as he claid. The player who inford him probably didn’t leave after clearing the instance, so he wasn’t aiming just to clear it either, and there should be more than just those props.”
Yan Jiayu nodded, “Just taking those props doesn’t make the instance dangerous.”
With eyes eting, the two understood each other’s thoughts, Yan Jiayu imdiately said, “I’ll follow them to see where they’re headed.”
“I’ll continue towards Moon City,” Xu Huo said, “If there are no gains in Moon City by latest tomorrow afternoon, I’ll head to the mine held by King of Gemstone City.”
“Let’s et there then.” Yan Jiayu agreed and patted Big Head’s rump, heading towards Jewel City.
Xu Huo followed the route on the map towards Moon City, encountering a trapped caravan and two injured travelers along the way. After offering help, the caravan provided a shorter route to Moon City, while the travelers warned him of several vicious beasts along the shortcut they had taken, which was very dangerous.
Thus, Xu Huo set off with the caravan.
The caravan thanked him for his protection by giving him so gemstones.
Noticing so differences between these and the mine stones from Jewel City, Xu Huo asked about it.
“Moon City has many gemstones too, though they weren’t used to build the city, there are plenty of decorative items made from them,” the rchant took one out and held it under the sunlight, “See the cracks within? At certain angles, they resemble crescent moons; these gemstones are one of the currencies in Moon City along with Moon Coin and Snow Bill, but are called Moonstone.”
“Snow Bill?”
“It’s that kind of white paper money,” the rchant showed a piece of White Notes, “Outsiders call it White Notes, but we found it unpleasant, so we gave it another na.”
Moon City’s gemstones looked much less refined compared to those from Jewel City, Xu Huo paused and marked a location on his hand-drawn map, “I heard there’s a mine here?”
The rchant glanced, then laughed heartily, “If you follow this map, you definitely won’t find it, the river’s direction is wrong.”
