1216: Chapter 1216: Being Targeted

Jiang Zifeng observed for a mont before saying, “I estimate that as soon as we take the prop, these lines will quickly regenerate, and by then, it will be even harder for us to leave…

Anyway, there’s no way I’m crawling out of here.”

The line walls neatly encased them, leaving a path below that was just over a ter high.

It was clear nobody could walk out of it upright.

“I said this kind of person is petty, definitely doing this on purpose to make us suffer.” Jiang Zifeng complained, “If the goal was to kill us, they might as well block us to death with the line walls.

Why bother leaving an opening?”

He grabbed the guillotine he had used the night before and jabbed it out through the tent window.

The result?

The lines were astonishingly flexible and didn’t break.

Not only that, but the guillotine had three shallow grooves etched into it.

After putting away the prop, Jiang Zifeng’s expression turned serious.

“If we don’t find this person, I doubt we’ll have a peaceful ti clearing this level.”

Xu Huo agreed.

Once the female player used a prop to slide under the lines, he wielded “Everything Wants to Slice” and wrapped it around the line walls.

Even sothing capable of cutting most Rank-A Cutting Lines couldn’t imdiately damage the line walls.

It was only after Xu Huo forcefully maneuvered the cutting line that several strands finally snapped.

Nonetheless, this demonstrated that the line walls weren’t indestructible.

He spread the cutting line as extensively as possible, dismantling the surrounding line walls in the process of packing up their shelter!

“Good brother!” Jiang Zifeng seized the opportunity to dash out, using a prop to locate the “tail” of the line walls.

Covering his right hand in plated prop armor, he slapped the tail and shouted, “If it’s ant to be, we’ll et a thousand miles apart!”

The line shook violently and quickly retracted in Jiang Zifeng’s direction.

Yet, in less than a second, the movent stopped, and the lines in his hand, along with the rest of the line walls, vanished!

“Trying to run?” Jiang Zifeng stood up and exchanged a glance with Xu Huo before chasing in the direction where the lines had disappeared.

Xu Huo nodded at the female player and followed.

Jiang Zifeng guessed that the opponent would not instantly store the lines in their prop inventory.

As expected, the other player not only hadn’t stowed away the lines but had laid traps with the line walls along the way.

Every ti a line wall blocked their path, Xu Huo would step in.

Once the tracking began, he would slightly lag behind Jiang Zifeng.

The two made such progress for about ten minutes before halting—not because they had caught up with the player using the lines, but because five players had blocked their path.

As soon as the two sides faced each other, Xu Huo and Jiang Zifeng were greeted with a barrage of flying arrows!

These weren’t ordinary flying arrows; they ca from the crystal-like bow in the hands of a long-haired female player among the group of five.

This bow had no bowstring and no physical arrows; simply pulling her hand in the air released dozens of semi-transparent arrows!

“Watch out!

It’s a spatial artifact!” Jiang Zifeng shouted a warning as he pulled back.

Xu Huo expanded the coverage area of the Cubic Space, clasping Spatial Rays in both hands and sweeping them forward.

While it wasn’t enough to stop the flying arrows, it could at least alter their trajectories.

Dozens of arrows veered off course, so striking maze walls and others embedding into the ground.

The long-haired female player smirked.

“This one is likely so kind of space-oriented Super Evolver.”

Her companions chuckled as well.

The bald man standing next to her cracked his knuckles and stepped forward.

“Then let

test him out!”

Before he even finished his sentence, he blinked into appearance right in front of Xu Huo.

His prop-enhanced fist smashed through three hastily summoned layers of Spatial Barrier, landing directly on the “Unassailable Territory”!

Though the prop wasn’t damaged, Xu Huo couldn’t help but be taken aback by the sheer force.

This was the strongest Cannibal Player he’d encountered yet.

“Co on, show

what you’re capable of!” Having failed his first strike, the bald man didn’t continue his close-range assault.

Instead, he unleashed a flurry of prop-powered attacks, aiming to force Xu Huo out of the barrier.

Of course, this was also a ans to probe the weaknesses of the “Unassailable Territory.”

Xu Huo played along, offering up this apparent “weakness.” After the “Unassailable Territory” reappeared three tis, he deliberately extended the gap between prop activations.

The bald man tid it perfectly, barreling toward him like a cannonball.

The prop he wore created a humanoid Defensive Barrier just as it collided with Xu Huo’s Sword!

Xu Huo was pushed back repeatedly, quickly creating over ten ters of distance between himself and Jiang Zifeng, as well as the four opposing players.

Landing on solid ground, Xu Huo sealed the bald man’s escape route using a cutting line and then unleashed the “Death of the Holder”!

A black tal Bead pierced through the bald man’s Defensive Barrier, headed straight for his heart.

But in the fraction of a second between the tal Bead passing through the barrier and reaching the bald man, Xu Huo suddenly swapped places with him, leaving himself directly in the path of the “Death of the Holder.”

At the sa ti, the bald man, now behind him, launched a back attack.

The prop on his fist lit up as an arc of light materialized into a curved blade and slashed toward Xu Huo’s back!

“Buzz!” The black tal Bead and the arc of light struck the “Unassailable Territory” in rapid succession, resulting in a deafening sound as the barrier shattered within a second—not due to the bald man’s prop, but because of the “Death of the Holder.”

Retrieving his prop, Xu Huo quickly turned around, used the “Cake Cutter” to destroy the bald man’s prop, and moved closer to Jiang Zifeng.

By this ti, Jiang Zifeng was already entangled with two players.

Upon seeing Xu Huo approach, those players shouted to the bald man, “Drag him farther away!

It’ll be easier to divide the props later!”

The bald man laughed heartily and said to Xu Huo, “You hear that?”

Just as he finished speaking, another male player joined the fight.

However, instead of attacking, he positioned himself near Xu Huo and tapped the ground with the tip of his foot.

A light circle expanded five to six ters wide, enclosing himself, Xu Huo, and the pursuing bald man.

The light circle flashed, and the trio vanished, reappearing a mont later in a new section of the maze corridor.

They hadn’t moved far—just around the bend from the previous corridor.

Now facing a two-on-one, Xu Huo dropped the tense and defensive deanor he had shown monts earlier.

Standing upright, he flexed his numb wrists and said, “You five deliberately waited there.

Who sent you?”

“Hah?” The buzz-cut player sneered.

“This guy’s still putting on airs.”
