1197: Chapter 1197 Cake Cutter

Angel calmly left Rose Castle after finishing her class and planned that on days when Xu Huo wasn’t ho, Mr.

Dong would send a car to pick her up.

Angel was very grateful for Xu Huo’s arrangents and even complinted Xiao Yuan for being smart and diligent as she left.

“Let’s put the Holy Sword Society matter aside for now.

I’m going to make a trip to District 001,” Xu Huo said to Mr.

Dong.

Mr.

Dong remained expressionless, “Are you preparing to retrieve what Mr.

He Pu left behind?”

“Coincidentally, the next instance I’m heading to is also in District 001.

Hopefully, I can still locate the area when I get there.” Xu Huo paused and then asked about another matter, “Is the appointnt with the exchange sorted out?”

“Tomorrow afternoon at three,” Mr.

Dong replied.

“The exchange will prepare props in line with your requirents in advance.”

Buying advanced combat-type props or those capable of nullifying spatial artifact effects is not particularly difficult.

What’s challenging is finding props that integrate both features.

Such props, even if Rank-C or Rank-B, are equally expensive.

Of course, space-ti items are inherently pricier than ordinary props.

Xu Huo’s prop requirents were rather high—he wouldn’t spend money on anything that wasn’t fully satisfactory.

The Zone 011 exchange had plenty of advanced items accessible.

Xu Huo was ushered into the VIP room, where the manager showcased props through holographic projection while explaining the details.

The best items were saved for last.

Xu Huo first examined so props recomnded by the exchange, many of which were everyday-type tools.

The manager explained that generally, advanced players—if not short on money—already have their preferred combat props.

Unless they particularly liked sothing, they rarely replace them.

However, other areas are different, such as tracking props, nullifying props, teleportation props, identity concealnt props, and so on—these aren’t as expensive as combat props but sell well in exchanges.

Xu Huo initially bought three special items.

The first was “Random Teleportation of Two Hundred ters.” The prop could only teleport soone to a fixed distance of two hundred ters in a random direction.

Its sole advantage was the ability to imdiately disengage from tracking props targeting the user.

Of course, the two-hundred-ter range was sowhat awkward.

For advanced players, such a distance rarely allows escape, and it might even result in teleporting directly into soone else’s vicinity… but opinions differ depending on the person.

The second was “Friend or Foe Distinguisher,” a marking prop capable of being used on at least ten different individuals.

Once categorized as friend or foe, the marked person—no matter how they disguise themselves or hide—triggers a prompt when they co within fifty ters of the owner.

It could serve as a supplent to the “Emotional Palette,” an upgraded characteristic derived from “Friends’ Rating.” “Emotional Palette” could perform a basic scoring and display emotional tendencies toward others, but its effectiveness could be impaired by props, characteristics, or individuals adept at controlling emotions.

In situations where it’s difficult to differentiate player identities, “Friend or Foe Distinguisher” was still considered decent.

The third special item was called “Take You to the Intersection,” a distancing tool that bypassed certain spatial artifact restrictions to directly teleport opponents fifty ters away.

Though the range wasn’t substantially advantageous, its effectiveness in counteracting barrier props and characteristics was significant.

“No better props available?” Xu Huo asked.

The manager maintained a professional smile.

“If a single prop could directly eliminate an opponent, how could it be considered an advanced player?”

“Survivors rely on small advantages like these.

After all, good props—even when owned—are seldom put up for sale.”

Thus, the best way to acquire props remained through instance completions.

Xu Huo continued reviewing other props and eventually purchased two long-distance teleportation items and two sets of advanced protective outfits before moving on to combat props.

“A Sword That’s Not Sharp, Rank-B.

The blade isn’t honed but enhances the wielder’s strength threefold.

If two players of the sa evolution rate face off, the other party would struggle to withstand continuous strikes.”

“Fragnts of Unknown Origin, Rank-B.

These consist of two pieces of armor forged from 206 fragnts of unique tals.

They can be worn on the chest and back, offering resistance against attacks from props of the sa rank.

Additionally, they can serve as offensive weapons upon contact, dispersing automatically to cover a fifty-ter radius ahead and behind the wearer with space-barrier-piercing capabilities.

However, if worn directly on the body, each use might destroy a piece of clothing.”

Xu Huo examined the leaf-shaped props and found wearing them externally to be no better than internally.

“A Wind-like Man, Rank-B.

Capable of generating Level 7 gales, creating a dramatic entrance amidst flying sand and stones.”

“Grasping Gloves, Rank-B.

Equipped with a mysterious suction ability, they can grab and toss objects weighing up to two hundred pounds within a twenty-ter radius, including people.”

“Life’s Burden, Rank-B.

A gravity prop that affects a three-hundred-ter range.

All players within, including the user, walk as though carrying a heavy load and experience life differently.”

Xu Huo had previously owned several gravity props, one of which was Rank-B.

However, their limited range and difficulty in locking onto targets during combat rendered them underutilized.

This particular prop didn’t seem much better.

He continued examining over ten more Rank-B props but only found one to slightly et his criteria: “Cake Cutter.” Shaped like a Tang Sword, its effects varied with the slashing angle.

For instance, when swung vertically downward perpendicular to the ground, the blade’s arc extended into a fan-shaped cutting plane with a maximum range of one hundred ters.

Not only could it slice through surface buildings, but if the angle extended into the ground, the terrain itself could be divided—rumored to have been crafted by an Artifact Maker upon receiving an order to deal with an enormous custom-made cake.

Setting aside the maker’s peculiar taste, the downside of this sword was that if wielded at other angles, its destructive power didn’t extend.

Furthermore, the vertical ground slash required absolute precision—any deviation would fail to cut the “cake,” making it difficult to use in practical combat scenarios.

Nonetheless, the sword proved highly effective in nullifying spatial barriers created by props of the sa rank.

Xu Huo purchased “Cake Cutter,” “Life’s Burden,” and “Grasping Gloves”—just these three props cost him forty million.

Combined with the three special items and two sets of prop dresses for young girls, the total expenditure reached fifty-eight million White Notes.

The manager smiled ear-to-ear as he sent him off.

After leaving, Xu Huo visited a gift shop to buy so snacks—originally intended for Little Pink Hat—but the Awakening Doll showed no reaction, so he gave up.

After having Mr.

Dong prepare so supplies, he contacted Liang Shuang, and together they set out for District 001.
