Chen Fei had just left when Lu Xiao dialed Liuli Hong’s number.

After several attempts, there was no connection, only a reminder that the other party was out of service area.

Lu Xiao then called Goo Yuexing.

Goo Yuexing’s phone went through on the first try.

"Lu Xiao, how are you? Are you alright?" an anxious voice from Goo Yuexing ca through.

"I’m fine, but Chen Fei might be in trouble. I can’t get through to Old Liuli; where is he? Can you reach him?" Lu Xiao imdiately asked.

Goo Yuexing took a deep breath—it seed Lu Xiao’s troubles were indeed not minor.

Even Chen Fei was in danger; one could imagine the strength of their opponent.

Rember, Chen Fei is a Fourth-Order tal Control Mutant, an existence on par with Liuli Hong—a Super-Tier being.

"At this ti, he should’ve already arrived if nothing unexpected happened."

"Currently, I am also unable to contact him; Liuli has broken away from the Seventeenth Bureau and has issued a public announcent. If I try to contact him now, it might be noticed by others."

Hearing Goo Yuexing’s words, Lu Xiao also felt a touch of gratitude.

Old Luli was a man worth befriending; he was truly dependable in tis of need.

He rushed to support him without question, simply upon receiving a ssage of "Co quickly" from him.

"Lu Xiao, while our Seventeenth Bureau might not be as powerful as the Superpower Alliance, we do not shy away from conflicts," Goo Yuexing continued.

"Go ahead and do what you need to do, without any hesitation."

"Whether it’s the Seventeenth Bureau or the national governnt, you’ll have our full support."

Goo Yuexing added a few more words.

Though he did not know exactly what had happened on Lu Xiao’s end, based on his understanding of Lu Xiao, the young man never faltered when it ca to significant issues.

Furthermore, Lu Xiao was a forr soldier, and the military still retained his service record until now.

Lu Xiao’s na was synonymous with legend within the military.

Therefore, Lu Xiao’s feelings and loyalty towards the nation were unequivocally fervent.

So, there was nothing to doubt; Goo Yuexing believed in Lu Xiao and was ready to fully support him, even if that ant all-out war with the Superpower Alliance when necessary.

A bright smile spread across Lu Xiao’s face at that mont.

Director Goo Yuexing was truly excellent.

He was willing to fight and didn’t beat around the bush.

Although he liked to play so sneaky tricks, then again, being a bit crafty was preferable for the director of the Seventeenth Bureau.

Already at a disadvantage, if they had a naïvely honest director who played by the book, many tasks likely wouldn’t get accomplished.

Like the ti when he and Goo Yuexing lured and killed a spy from the Mutants within the Seventeenth Bureau; only a scher like Goo Yuexing could collaborate with him so seamlessly.

Any other more straightforward director definitely couldn’t handle such affairs.

"There’s sothing I want to ask for—I’m tired of being the deputy head of Azure Dragon Group. How about you give a shot at being your deputy director?" Lu Xiao said.

"Is deputy director enough for you? If not, I can step down for you," Goo Yuexing inquired.

If it were soone else, such words would mostly be sarcastic or passive-aggressive.

But coming from Goo Yuexing, it ant he was genuinely willing to offer his position to Lu Xiao.

"Deputy director should suffice; I can work with that."

"Alright, it’s arranged."

"Then that’s settled; goodbye, director. Wait for my good news. If this works out, the Superpower Alliance will have to look to our Seventeenth Bureau," Lu Xiao said and then hung up the call.

On the other end of the call, Goo Yuexing listened to the busy signal, breathing slightly faster.

The Superpower Alliance being subordinate to the Seventeenth Bureau—damn, just the thought had him almost soaring with delight.

...

After finishing the call with Goo Yuexing, Lu Xiao stood up and left the room.

Outside in the courtyard, Sister Gun and the others were all present. Seeing Lu Xiao erge, they quickly gathered around him.

"Lu Xiao, is Sister Fei going out for revenge against the Divine Light Plan?" Sister Gun promptly asked.

Lu Xiao nodded.

"I’m coming too!" Sister Gun turned to leave.

But before she could take a step, Lu Xiao grabbed her.

"Let go, Sister Fei could die on her own!"

"Would you be of any use?" Lu Xiao looked at Sister Gun with a cold tone, "You’re just Third-tier; going would only make you a burden."

"Bullshit!" Sister Gun glared, damned Lu Xiao acting up today, using such harsh words.

"And the two of you as well," Lu Xiao then pointed at Truth and the Pharmacist, "to be honest, if it weren’t for you being here today, if it weren’t for trying to avoid getting you killed, we wouldn’t have had such a tough fight."

Truth and the Pharmacist frowned at the sa ti, wondering what the hell the Major was up to.

Was he really dismissing their capabilities or just making excuses to send them away for their safety?

"So, you three, get as far away from as possible," Lu Xiao waved them off.

Sister Gun was about to curse when the Pharmacist stopped her with one swift move.

"Got it, let’s go." The Pharmacist grabbed Sister Gun with the left hand and pulled Truth with the right, and they imdiately left.

Sister Gun and Truth wanted to say sothing, but their mouths opened and closed in vain, unable to utter a word.

Clearly, the Psychopath Pharmacist drugged them to shut them up.

After the three left, only Lu Xiao and Edson remained.

"Today, you perford very well," Lu Xiao glanced at Edson.

"As expected."

"So, I’m planning to give you a little sothing sweet," Lu Xiao’s mouth curved slightly upwards, "Co on, let’s go to the Superpower Alliance. You, the Acting Alliance Leader, should beco official now."

Edson’s jaw slowly dropped—what are you talking about, Lu Xiao?

I’ve already been relieved of my duties, and I’m even on the Superpower Alliance’s hit list right now...
