"Let ask: what cri has the Uchiha clan committed, that you as Hokage would collude with outsiders and attempt to slaughter our entire clan?"
Sarutobi Hiruzen shut his mouth. Then he said with a grim look, "The Uchiha harbor thoughts of rebellion."
Chiyu asked, "Where's your proof?"
"The Uchiha have never been content to stay in line. From Uchiha Madara defecting, to Uchiha Setsuna's revolt, to the Nine-Tails incident that inflicted catastrophic losses on our village…"
Chiyu gave a faint laugh.
"What does any of that have to do with ?
"Back then, when Uchiha Madara defected, our clan mbers willingly betrayed him, their own clan leader, just to remain in Konoha."
"As for Uchiha Setsuna, he was captured by Tobirama Senju before any real uprising started."
"And Uchiha Kagami was the Second Hokage's trusted aide—would you call that restlessness?
"As for the Nine-Tails incident—how utterly laughable. You clearly know the masked man behind the Nine-Tails rampage is the one calling himself Uchiha Madara. And yet instead of seeking revenge against him, you people cooperated with him to annihilate the Uchiha clan?"
"As Hokage, you scrounge up random charges, collude with outside foes, and murder fellow villagers? Such deep guilt is beyond forgiveness!"
As he spoke, the entire Uchiha force seethed with righteous anger, their battle spirits soaring.
anwhile, Sarutobi Hiruzen looked ashen-faced, lips pressed tight, making no reply.
Koharu broke the silence: "Uchiha Chiyu! You killed Shimura Danzo, then killed Mitokado Homura—aren't you the one rebelling?"
"Shimura Danzo was deed a traitor on your side, Mitokado Homura was the enemy who invaded the Uchiha district. Killing both was appropriate, justified, and legal."
"And the sa goes for you."
Chiyu's tone was cold but composed, as though he spoke of sothing perfectly natural.
"You—!"
Koharu's face contorted.
Sarutobi Hiruzen's expression grew ever more unpleasant.
"Jiraiya, aren't you going to act?"
Jiraiya let out a sigh and shook his head, but in the end he shoved open the window, leapt from high atop the Hokage Building, and descended.
Still in midair, he bit his finger, ford hand seals, and invoked his jutsu:
"Summoning Technique!"
Boom!
A vast puff of white smoke spread outward, and as he landed, it was upon a colossal summoning beast—
None other than the giant toad of Mount Myoboku!
Its body was huge like a small mountain, a samurai-style coat draped around it, a short sword at its waist, and a giant pipe clenched between its lips.
Whoosh!
Even a slight puff of the pipe smoke blanketed half the street in haze.
"That—that's Jiraiya-sama's summoned beast, the Great Toad of Mount Myoboku!"
"Boss Gamabunta!"
Standing atop Gamabunta's head, Jiraiya fixed his gaze firmly on Uchiha Chiyu.
"Though I'd rather not be involved in this, I can't just watch my teacher die at your hands, Uchiha Chiyu. So the 'Toad Sage of Mount Myoboku,' one of the Legendary Sannin—Jiraiya, the White-Haired Toad Sage—hereby—"
Before he could finish, Gamabunta cut him off:
"Hey, Jiraiya, what the hell d'you summon to Konoha in the middle of the night for?"
Jiraiya's grand entrance was unceremoniously interrupted; he could only sigh wryly:
"Sorry, Bunta, but the opponent this ti is no ordinary foe…"
Gamabunta turned its large eyes toward Chiyu, then behind him at the formidable Uchiha ranks.
"Heh? The Uchiha?"
"Jiraiya, I told you I'm not here to get involved in Konoha's internal quarrels..."
Jiraiya heaved another long sigh.
"I don't want to either, but we're already past the point of avoiding battle."
Chiyu regarded the pair, man and toad, with icy calm.
"Jiraiya, you insist on ddling?"
Jiraiya gave a sober nod:
"Uchiha Chiyu, I've heard your na. Lately, it's renowned across the whole ninja world. I also know your style—extre thods. Perhaps my teacher Sarutobi Hiruzen is at fault, but he doesn't deserve to die. If he falls to you, he'll surely be done for. As his pupil, I can't stand by."
Chiyu showed no concern.
"Then co."
"Haha, all right!"
Seeing Chiyu's indifference, Jiraiya and Gamabunta both pushed their chakra to the limit.
Opposite them stood a man whose reputation alone ant he must be handled with utmost caution.
"Fire Release: Fla Bullet!"
Jiraiya spewed out a powerful fire release enhanced by Gamabunta's oil, forming a vast conflagration that poured down like a torrential wave.
All the Uchiha present found themselves alard.
As one of the Sannin, Jiraiya's opening strike was no small matter!
Yet Chiyu didn't budge an inch.
He rely used his strongest Lightning Strike Armour.
Not even Susanoo—just the "ultimate lightning shield."
"What?!"
Jiraiya, seeing his Fire Release bullet crash upon Chiyu only to dissipate harmlessly, was taken aback.
"That's no regular Lightning Chakra Mode— that's the Third Raikage's ultimate shield?!"
Gamabunta's face turned grim as well.
"This guy's going to be trouble, Jiraiya…"
Gamabunta took a mighty leap, unsheathed the short sword at his waist in midair, and slashed fiercely down on Chiyu.
To watch from afar, it was like a mountain collapsing on a single man.
The blade's gleam, reflecting the bloody moonlight, radiated an ominous red.
"Toad Sword Beheading!"
BOOM!
A massive shockwave shook the entire street.
But Chiyu stayed utterly still.
He raised his own blade, infused with lightning—appearing puny by comparison—and directly intercepted Gamabunta's short sword with staggering force.
CRASH!
To everyone's shock, that "tiny pin" was enough to withstand the giant toad's heavy sword blow.
In fact, Chiyu deftly diverted the force away, then rebounded it— sending Gamabunta's huge body tumbling backward with a crash, flattening the roadway, burying countless buildings under his falling mass!
"Gamabunta!"
Jiraiya cried out, hurrying to check on the toad.
Gamabunta, battered, spat a mouthful of blood:
"Damn it, Jiraiya—this is my limit…"
"I get it—just go back to Mount Myoboku. Sorry…"
BAM!
With a thick plu of smoke, Gamabunta vanished.
Jiraiya turned back to stare at Chiyu.
The latter stood tall, enveloped in lightning, possessing unstoppable might. That monstrous lightning shield made Jiraiya's eyes fill with dismay.
So overwhelming…
"Never since Hanzo of the Salamander forced into dire straits have I felt such hopelessness…
"Attack, defense, speed, strength, insight, reflexes, experience—flawless on all fronts, huh…?"
Still, Jiraiya's resolve only hardened:
"All right. Even a frog in the well has fights it can't run from. I guess I've got no choice."
He took a deep breath and placed his hands together:
"… Sage Mode!!!"
