Liu Sisi hesitated for a mont before she recalled that years ago, Di Gaoyuan had sold the right to make decisions about Di Wei’s marital prospects to her in full.

Di Hongyuan had driven Di Gaoyuan away?

Liu Sisi spoke indifferently, but there was no hint of resentnt in her eyes.
“The Old Master Marquis said that these were minor matters. He specifically instructed both the senior and junior managers not to tell you,” Ms. Gao added.
The Old Master Marquis only gave instructions to Da Niu and Er Niu, but not to Ms. Gao.

The discord between Di Yelei and Di Gaoyuan naturally needed resolving as well.
Di Yelei glanced at the clan leader, his gaze sweeping over the still unmoving Liu Sisi, with no intention to continue the conversation.
Instead, he pointed to a narrow path nearby: “This path is a bit narrow; we had so difficulty coming up earlier. Soone, quickly widen the path by one foot to facilitate carriage access.”
“Yes, my lord.”
His trusted followers took the command and left.
Soon, a commotion arose from below, and just as the clan leader, the elders, and everyone else were confused, a villager with a pale face ran up.
