In the perception of the gods, the Power of Laws within the Little White Snake grew increasingly formidable, and its body seed to beco as translucent as colored glaze at that mont, clearly revealing every organ within.

The potent Power of Laws was transforming its body, continuously advancing it towards the physique of a Divine Spirit. Its body grew larger and larger until it was as long as the Land of Death itself.

A massive white snake appeared before the eyes of the gods, and only then did they realize with surprise that the one ascending to godhood this ti was an anomaly.

"What race does this belong to, why does it not ring any bells?"

"Perhaps it's a strange creature left over from ancient tis; there were all kinds of bizarre beings in those eras."

"Sothing's not right, there's no ancientness in this snake. It must be just a juvenile."

"Impossible, a juvenile ascending to a Divine Position, what kind of joke is that?"

The gods, gazing at the vast white snake in the sky, were abuzz with discussion. This white snake, erging from who knows where, had rather abruptly begun its ascension to a Divine Position—a feat not seen for nearly a thousand years. Particularly, the Law it had chosen was the formidable Law of Death.

Being the God of Death in this world was definitely a high-risk profession; no Grim Reaper had managed to hold the position for more than a hundred years. The previous Grim Reaper, Yage, had been so brilliantly talented, yet he lasted only three hundred years before he t with a bizarre demise. Therefore, it was rumored among the gods that there was a strange power cursing the position of Grim Reaper; any Divine Spirit ascending to that position would surely fall within a century.

It was precisely for this reason that the significant position of Grim Reaper had remained vacant and unapproached till now. Unexpectedly, after a thousand years, soone was willing to blaze the trail and once again make a dash for the position of Grim Reaper.

The giant white snake roared towards the heavens, its whole body shining with black radiance. The pristine white body enveloped in black light looked both sacred and solemn.

Soon the lights began to retract as if to condense into sothing substantial. This was the Law within the Divine Spirit's body and the bastion of their Divine Position. Only with this could one truly be called a Divine Spirit.

The process went smoothly. The endless black light gradually solidified, turning into a crystal stone-like formation radiating with brilliance inside the body of the white snake. This was the Divine Essence, the very foundation of a Divine Spirit.

Next, as long as Xiao Bai could sublimate its spirit and ignite the divine fire, it would successfully ascend to the Divine Position and beco the new Grim Reaper.

But at that mont, things went awry. The Law of Death within Xiao Bai suddenly erupted in turmoil, and the Land of Death floating in the air began to release an imnse amount of death aura. Like poison, they quickly enveloped Xiao Bai.

Xiao Bai's body started to undergo bizarre changes. Jet-black feathers began to grow amidst its pure white scales, carrying an air of madness and slaughter. At this mont, Xiao Bai was consud by frenzy, and a terrifying will appeared within its body, striving to seize control.

"Heh, so you really thought you could utilize the power of old bones so easily? How naive," the God of Forest sneered coldly, seemingly mocking Xiao Bai's overestimation of its capabilities.

The gods fell into a silence as deep as death. This scene felt hauntingly familiar; similar events had transpired upon the death of the forr Grim Reaper, Yage, when those dark feathers drifted through the world, slaying every living being.

"Where does this eerie power co from, and why is it so formidable, not allowing the ergence of a Grim Reaper in this world?" a Divine Spirit said gravely, feeling ill intentions behind the power.

Xiao Bai was on the verge of succumbing to madness. The will that had erged within it was too strong; its young and tender consciousness, just recently birthed, was no match and faced the risk of being extinguished in re monts.

It was then that Lu Yu intervened, placing his hand gently next to the about-to-go-mad Xiao Bai. The once little snake now resembled a mountain in size, making Lu Yu's figure appear as small as an ant against its massive body.

But his voice, when it reached Xiao Bai's ears, cald the latter instantly. Coming from the soul, it was a closeness Xiao Bai chose to embrace, willingly opening its heart and mind to Lu Yu. Seizing the opportunity, Lu Yu resolutely entered Xiao Bai's spiritual consciousness.

This was a world belonging solely to death, perated with the breath of death on all sides. Countless deathly creatures looked up reverently at the two silhouettes confronting each other in the sky—one a Little White Snake and the other a Skeleton Phantom.

Sensing Lu Yu's arrival, Xiao Bai cried out excitedly, instantly coming to his side and roaring incessantly at the Skeleton Phantom in the sky, as if challenging it.

The Skeleton Phantom seed nothing more than a chanical program, unresponsive, rely engaging in the sa attack on Xiao Bai as before.

Lu Yu effortlessly blocked the phantom's assault, sensing a fearso power from its body—that of the deepest death, seemingly intermingled with the powers of decay and destruction.

Luckily, it was just a phantom with limited strength, causing no significant harm to Lu Yu. He emitted a dazzling Light of rit that shattered the phantom completely.

However, this seed to trigger a chain reaction; soon, an even larger Skeleton Phantom descended before them, pouring forth a terrifying breath of death.

Lu Yu frowned slightly. This new phantom was troubleso, but not beyond his ability to handle. He summoned the Treasure Vase and used the Light of rit to immobilize the Skeleton Phantom while his Sword Qi cleaved the phantom into pieces.
