Kunpeng unfolded its true form, flying across the sky, yet its thoughts drifted far away.

Although it didn't know how many years had passed, the mories from long, long ago were etched into its heart as if carved by knives and chisels...

Kunpeng still rembered the events that unfolded in the distant past, so ancient that the years had beco a blur, but the events themselves remained crystal clear.

It rembered that, when the heavens and the earth first parted, it was one of the very first beings to appear in this world.

It vividly recalled how, in the beginning, the Dragon Clan, Phoenix Clan, and Qilin Clan dominated the Primordial Continent, forcing all other clans into obscurity.

Later, the first imasurable calamity broke out, known as the Dragon and Phoenix Calamity, which afterward gave the myriad clans much more space to live.

Subsequently, the Demon Clan and the Witch Clan almost ruled the entire Primordial Continent unchallenged.

It was during those tis that the Demon Clan established the Heavenly Court and commanded all clans under the heavens.

Back then, even the Three Pure Ones and the two Saints of the Western Religion had to bow their heads under the overbearing pressure of the Demon Clan.

Unfortunately, thereafter, an extraordinary being erged among them!

The Saint!

The Hongjun Ancestor attained saintliness and formally introduced the concept of the Saint to the Primordial Continent.

After that, Hongjun Ancestor began his teachings at Zixiao Palace, enlightening all living beings.

Kunpeng rembered that, thanks to its advantage in speed, it was the very first to arrive at Zixiao Palace when it opened its doors for the first ti.

Of course, it secured one of the six ditation cushions in front of Zixiao Palace.

But later, when the two Saints of the Western Religion arrived, they put on a show, and that goody-two-shoes Hongyun actually gave up his ditation cushion for Jieyin.

Afterward, Jieyin and Zhunti joined forces and snatched away its ditation cushion...

At the ti, even though it knew that the location of that cushion was important, it didn't understand the specifics of what it ant.

Only after the third lecture at Zixiao Palace ended did it learn that the position of that cushion was actually linked to sainthood!

Latter, just before rging with the Heavenly Dao, Hongjun Ancestor divided seven streams of Hongng Purple Qi.

Of these, six were bestowed upon the current six Saints, conferring upon them their venerable status!

The last one, however, ended up in Hongyun's hands!

This was sothing Kunpeng found hard to accept!

Both itself and Hongyun had lost their claim to a cushion, and thus to sainthood by a hairbreadth. Yet, Hongyun did so willingly, whereas it was implicated by soone else's actions.

Why should the last stream of Hongng Purple Qi be given to him!?

The six individuals on the ditation cushions were all disciples of Hongjun, naturally untouchable to others, but Hongyun was not Hongjun's disciple. This last stream of Hongng Purple Qi thus attracted covetous glances from all directions!

For the creatures of the Primordial Continent, due to the cri of possessing a treasure, the last clandestine battle for the Hongng Purple Qi ended with Hongyun's death and the Purple Qi's disappearance, a fact known across the entire Primordial Continent.

But in fact, after Hongyun died, where was his body? No one knew.

Where did that last stream of Hongng Purple Qi go? That, too, no one knew.

However, Kunpeng knew the truth!

Back in the day, when the Demon Clan and Witch Clan suppressed the Primordial Continent, no one besides Saints could withstand the edge of the Demon Clan's blade—Hongyun ultimately fell into the hands of the Demon Clan.

Hongyun died; that much was true, and the Hongng Purple Qi ended up in the hands of Eastern Emperor Taiyi.

This was sothing only it and the Demon Emperor Dijun knew.

Yet, until the great calamity between the witches and demons, Eastern Emperor Taiyi fell without ever having successfully attained sainthood!

After the great war between the witches and demons, with the Demon Clan's decline, Kunpeng naturally shifted its focus towards the Hongng Purple Qi.

Eastern Emperor Taiyi might have failed to beco a saint before his fall, but that didn't an it had no chance of success.

The last stream of Hongng Purple Qi, after all, signified the last opportunity for sainthood in this world!

After years of searching, it finally discovered that the last Golden Crow had, prior to falling, entrusted the last stream of Hongng Purple Qi to his youngest son, who was also the last Golden Crow.

And the last Golden Crow had ford Hongyun's body into the likeness of a child and stored the Hongng Purple Qi inside the corpse...

Everything else could be conceded, but not the last stream of Hongng Purple Qi in this world, nor the last chance at sainthood.

Therefore, for years, Kunpeng discreetly sought out Hongyun's body while searching for the whereabouts of that last stream of Hongng Purple Qi.

After expending countless efforts, it finally succeeded in locating Hongyun's body, which had been icy entombed within the heartland of Zhongnan Mountain by the last Golden Crow.

This discovery thrilled Kunpeng. Having thought the Hongng Purple Qi was finally within its grasp, who could have expected soone to have got there first?

"Did the last stream of Hongng Purple Qi end up in the hands of Maitreya Buddha!?" Soaring through the air, it murmured anxiously to itself.

Back when the Demon Clan suppressed the Primordial Continent, how imposing were they?

But what about afterward? Buddhism dug around for disciples, for Dharma Treasures, wanting everything.

And the Demon Clan? Many who joined Buddhism ended up as pets, as mounts...

You must know, even Sect Master Tongtian never did such a thing!

Now, the Hongng Purple Qi has fallen into the hands of Maitreya Buddha?

If the Buddhist Sect has another Saint...

From a selfish point of view, it's for oneself.

But then again, looking at it from the Demon Clan's perspective, it's also for the demon race.

Therefore, deep within Kunpeng's heart, he pondered. That last vestige of Hongng Purple Qi absolutely cannot fall into the hands of Maitreya Buddha.

Though myriad thoughts filled his mind, Kunpeng's speed was not affected. Soon, Kunpeng arrived above Yellow Flower Temple.

From a vantage point above, Kunpeng's gaze locked onto Yuanling!

"Hmm, sensing from the divine sense, his soul is different, it's not Hongyun's, but this body is indeed Hongyun's..."

After enveloping Yuanling with his divine sense and sensing thoroughly, Kunpeng muttered to himself internally.

Having carefully felt Yuanling's condition, Kunpeng understood in his heart that the voice he heard before was indeed correct.

Has this body of Hongyun, or rather, the Hongng Purple Qi, indeed fallen into the hands of Maitreya Buddha?

Folding his wings, Kunpeng's form directly transford into that of a Taoist Body.

Then, his palm shaped into a claw, reaching straight for Maitreya Buddha.

"Holy shit!"

Jiang Liu, who was nearby, watched as Kunpeng didn't even bother with words before taking action, and he couldn't help but be secretly shocked.

Although Jiang Liu had guessed that Kunpeng would co and even fight with Maitreya Buddha, he hadn't expected that Kunpeng would be so ruthless and taciturn, not wasting a single word before launching into action!

Watching Kunpeng suddenly attacking him, as if there was so deep-seated grudge like the slaying of his father or stealing of his wife, Maitreya Buddha was stunned, feeling perplexed.

Maitreya Buddha's hand lifted, and a pair of cymbals appeared in his hands to counter Kunpeng's talon strike.

A resounding 'thud'!

Although the cymbals blocked Kunpeng's attack, could the gap in strength between level 93 and level 100 be so easily bridged?

Even though Kunpeng attacked with re hands, his imnse power was sothing Maitreya Buddha, even holding a pair of cymbals, could not withstand.

It was like Maitreya Buddha was a ball smacked flying, as he was sent hurtling away by Kunpeng's swipe.

"Beautiful!"

Seeing Kunpeng send Maitreya Buddha flying with a single swipe, Jiang Liu's eyes lit up, inwardly admiring the move.

Though Kunpeng's dire and terse reaction was unexpected to Jiang Liu, it was more of a pleasant surprise.

If Kunpeng could take this opportunity to kill Maitreya Buddha, that would truly be wonderful!

With this thought, as Jiang Liu watched Maitreya Buddha's figure being blasted away, he quietly and unnoticeably signalled towards Kunpeng.

At the sa ti, he cast the Strengthening Demon-Subduing Mantra skill upon Kunpeng.

Control-type skills like Silencing Zen and Sheep Transformation Technique were hard to be effective against a Quasi-Saint, but a Buff skill like the Strengthening Demon-Subduing Mantra ought to be useful, right?

Indeed, with the skill of Strengthening Demon-Subduing Mantra cast upon him, Kunpeng imdiately felt his strength increase substantially in an intangible way.

A 25% increase in attack power might not feel significant to a low-level individual, but for Kunpeng, a level 100 of Blue Quality, this 25% boost was imdiately perceptible.

Originally, Kunpeng knew his body had sustained injuries from being struck down by the heaven-shocking Sword Qi and from the battle with Minghe in the Netherworld Blood Sea, which had sowhat affected his power.

But now, Kunpeng could feel that his strength had not only simply recovered.

It had even beco far more powerful than during his peak!

"What's going on? Why? Why has my strength suddenly increased so much!"

Under the augntation of the Strengthening Demon-Subduing Mantra, his power had increased, which was certainly cause for joy. Yet Kunpeng beca even more astounded, completely clueless as to what was happening.

Could it be?! Is this the will of Heaven?!

Is his every action in accord with the Heavenly Dao? Hence, the Heavenly Dao itself was invisibly enhancing his cultivation?

Could it be that, after all this ti, this strand of Hongng Purple Qi was fated by the Heavenly Dao to be his?

Thinking of this, Kunpeng's heart swelled with overwhelming joy.

At the sa ti, his gaze on Maitreya Buddha turned even firr!

After being blown away with a single move, Maitreya Buddha couldn't help but internally lant Kunpeng's might, truly worthy of being the forr Listener of Zixiao Palace, second only to Eastern Emperor Taiyi and Demon Master Dijun!

"Wait a mont…" Although feeling emotional internally, the sudden appearance of Kunpeng, with a stance of irreconcilable hostility against him, left Maitreya Buddha all the more bewildered.

"Kunpeng, what are you doing? We've had no grudges in the past, no conflicts in recent days, right?"
