“Very well! You are extraordinarily bold and relentless. Such a heinous sin would ordinarily call for a life for a life, but now, since you need to bring back the lost soul of Maitreya Buddha, I will spare your life for now!”
With these words, Tathagata paused for a mont and then continued: “However, the death penalty is exempt, but you can’t escape punishnt!”
Regarding Tathagata’s words, Jiang Liu still kept his head down, without any intention of rebuttal, naturally showing his willingness to accept any punishnt.
Seeing Jiang Liu’s good attitude, Tathagata looked around at all the Bodhisattvas and Buddhas present, then said: “Noticing your sincere acceptance of guilt, and your identity as a burden of the Journey to the West for Scriptures, I will not make things difficult for you. You only need to wear this God-Forbidding Ring, and after a hundred years, I will help you remove it! Consider this a small warning with great lesson!”
