217: Chapter 218: The Grand Monkey King, Actually Called an Evil Ghost 217: Chapter 218: The Grand Monkey King, Actually Called an Evil Ghost Xuanzang had co to this place and already knew he had no other choice.

He also knew the Western Direction would have left so ans for him to safely journey to Western Heaven, although he had employed so thods, the West was unaware of his true strength.

Upon arriving here, he indeed discovered Sun Wukong and knew that Sun Wukong was the contingency plan left by the Western Direction.

Originally, he would have preferred not to have this backup plan, yet unexpectedly, it was related to that elder.

Now he was indeed very eager to et Sun Wukong.

However, the formation was so powerful that, for a mont, Xuanzang worried about how this monkey would get out of it.

But since the monkey had said that he himself had sealed himself here, he must have a way to get out.

“Indeed, if you sealed yourself here, naturally you have a way!”

Xuanzang nodded, quickly understanding the situation.

“Indeed, Old Sun has sealed himself here, and if it weren’t for seeing you today, Old Sun would definitely not co out lightly!”

Sun Wukong laughed heartily, then stood up for the first ti within the formation.

At the sa ti, the surrounding formation, at that mont, suddenly collapsed.

As if it couldn’t suppress Sun Wukong any longer.

Seeing this scene, both Xuanzang and the hunter were taken aback, retreating several steps in shock.

Having long known about the divine skills of Immortals and Buddhas, Xuanzang quickly recovered from his surprise.

But the hunter was different, being just a mortal, he was repeatedly stepping back at this mont.

“Indeed, a monkey demon, my ancestors did not deceive !”

“Brother, do not be afraid, this is my disciple!”

Seeing the hunter’s fear, Xuanzang couldn’t help but reassure him a few tis.

The hunter whispered, “It is said that demons harm people, Master, do you really dare to accept this monkey?”

“If it were another demon, I might be worried, but he definitely would not!”

Xuanzang confidently stated.

Since this monkey was related to that elder, he naturally would not harm him.

He trusted Wang Yang, who cared about him more than the All Heavens’ Immortals and Buddhas who deceived and sched against him.

“I hope the Elder’s words are correct!”

The hunter felt the ground tremble and was chilled to the bone; although he was a hunter and had seen many monsters, he was still sowhat afraid of the powerful Sun Wukong.

“Master, I’m out!”

Sun Wukong broke the surrounding formation, causing the ground to tremble, the five hundred years of integration breaking the formation and causing the environnt to shake as well.

Seeing Sun Wukong erge, Xuanzang nodded repeatedly.

Then, using the power of Buddhist law, he checked Sun Wukong’s body.

However, he could not discern anything on the monkey’s body.

He only felt that the monkey was like an unfathomably deep well of water, completely inscrutable.

Moreover, what was mysterious was that there was a trendously powerful aura on the monkey’s body, and he could not determine the Cultivation Level either.

Sun Wukong bowed to Xuanzang, then stood up.

He glanced at the hunter beside him.

“Thank you, big brother, for bringing over my master.

Are we not to travel together?”

Sun Wukong still thought this hunter was Xuanzang’s servant.

When the hunter saw this hairy-faced, lightning-mouthed monkey approach, had it not been for Xuanzang’s presence, he might have fled.

Now, gathering his courage, he waved his hand and said, “We are not traveling together; I just encountered the Master and ca along with him!”

Although the hunter was terrified, Sun Wukong did not mind and started to pack his belongings, approaching the horse.

When the horse saw him, it could not help but weaken at the knees, trembling as it struggled to stand.

Sun Wukong, being Pilgrim, had in the past tended Celestial Horses in heaven, also his aura was not sothing ordinary beings could withstand.

Thus the horse’s instinctive fear was only natural.

Seeing the way Sun Wukong behaved, Xuanzang also showed a pleased expression without imdiately acknowledging their relation; he understood that they must be under surveillance at this mont, and ntioning Wang Yang might bring trouble to the elder Wang Yang.

He then smiled and said, “Disciple, what is your surna?”

Sun Wukong, also tactfully not ntioning Wang Yang right away, smiled and said, “My surna is Sun.”

Xuanzang nodded and said, “Let give you a Dharma na then.”

Sun Wukong waved his hand and said, “There’s no need, Master, I already have a Dharma na, called Sun Wukong.”

Xuanzang heard this and joyfully said, “The na Sun Wukong quite fits our sect.”

“With your appearance, just like a small monk, let give you a mixed na, called ‘Pilgrim.’ How about that?”

Sun Wukong, not caring at all, smiled and nodded, “Good!

Good!

Good!”

Seeing that Sun Wukong had not attacked him, acting instead quite politely, the hunter, who had been on edge, finally relaxed.

He turned to Xuanzang and said, “Elder, you have accepted a good disciple here, congratulations.”

“If he protects you, I can rest assured, I will head back first.”

Initially, the hunter had so worries, but now that there was a Great Demon to protect the master, he naturally felt relieved.

Xuanzang knew that the hunter ant well and bowed deeply in thanks, “I’m deeply grateful, Brother Hunter.”

The hunter returned the bow, took another look at the monkey, then turned and left.

“Let’s set off!”

Xuanzang watched the hunter disappear into the distance before turning to proceed westward with Sun Wukong.

This scene did not escape the eyes of All Heavens’ Immortals and Buddhas.

In the celestial Court, inside the Ninth Celestial Palace.

The Jade Emperor, sitting atop the celestial Palace, witnessed this scene and sighed in relief.

After all, Sun Wukong had committed many acts in the past that went against their plans.

He had thought that this ti, after Sun Wukong had left, he would not easily agree to help Xuanzang travel to Western Heaven to worship Buddha and seek scriptures.

Unexpectedly, Sun Wukong readily agreed without any hesitation.

Following Xuanzang’s rescue of Sun Wukong, they had officially entered into the Calamity of asurent.

The expressions of the nurous Orthodox Deities of the celestial Court varied at this mont.

There were feelings of worry, urgency, and joy, among others.

Worry and urgency were from the people of the Daoist Sect, as it was inevitable that the Daoist Sect would face suppression once the Calamity of asurent of the Journey to the West was completed; hence, they were naturally very concerned.

Those who were joyful were naturally led by Pagoda-Carrying Celestial King Li and the other Orthodox Deities inclined towards Buddhism.

Of course, there were also so Orthodox Deities who looked on calmly, as if what was happening had nothing to do with them.

The scenes observed in the celestial Court varied.

However, in the Western Great Thunderclap Monastery, many Buddhas could not help but show a look of joy.

Sakyamuni Tathagata sat serenely on the Lotus Platform, his face bearing a compassionate smile, and his eyes shimred with wise Buddha’s light, seemingly possessing great magical power.

He had been paying close attention to the movents of the Monkey.

After all, the flourishing of Buddhism depended on Sun Wukong.

With many unexpected developnts concerning Sun Wukong, they were naturally worried about whether he might encounter any mishaps this ti.

Fortunately, after Sun Wukong walked out of the Formation, he did not do anything else, which put them at ease.

“Thankfully, Guanyin Bodhisattva reassured the Macaque to enter the Calamity of asurent.

With such great rit, he will surely have future rewards!”

Sakyamuni Tathagata could only attribute it to the intervention of Guanyin Bodhisattva that the Monkey had so readily joined the Calamity of asurent.

Upon hearing this, Guanyin Bodhisattva stepped forward and spoke, “Amitabha Buddha, this is all but my duty!”

anwhile, Wang Yang sat in ditative sitting in the mountains.

He looked toward the direction where Sun Wukong’s incarnation was, his face revealing a trace of peculiar interest.

“It’s a pity, now that Sun Wukong is under the scrutiny of Saints, otherwise, I could find his true form and discuss so matters with him!” Wang Yang murmured to himself.

Although Sun Wukong’s true form was not involved in the Calamity of asurent, it still could not escape the Saints’ notice.

After all, the Calamity of asurent of the Journey to the West was extrely important to the Saints and naturally could not be beyond their control.

Every change involving Sun Wukong was also under the eyes of the Saints.

Even though he had reached the middle stage of Quasi-Saint, without breaking through to Saint, nothing could change.

Wang Yang sighed.

Although much had changed, the outcos would not.

It remains to be seen whether there will be any change upon reaching Western Heaven.

Elsewhere, Xuanzang and Sun Wukong continued their journey westward.

Soti later, the sky had darkened.

Sun Wukong glanced at the sky and said, “Master, it is getting late, and there appears to be a family’s estate over there.

Let’s hurry and seek lodging!”

Xuanzang also looked at the sky, and agreed with Sun Wukong, noting that traveling at night was not safe.

Thus, Xuanzang and Sun Wukong walked towards the estate ahead.

Indeed, there was an estate ahead.

Upon reaching this family’s ho, Sun Wukong set down the luggage and went up to knock on the door.

“Open up, open up!”

Soone inside seed to hear the knocking and soon opened a crack in the door.

Sun Wukong saw that it was an elderly man.

The elder, seeing Sun Wukong’s fierce monkey visage, shuddered, his face filled with shock and fear, and he hurriedly tried to close the door while exclaiming, “A ghost has co, a ghost has co!”

Sun Wukong would not allow the man to close the door and quickly stopped the door from shutting.

He certainly did not want to spend the night outside.

The elderly man almost fell over, and Xuanzang hurried forward to support him.

“Old Benefactor, do not be afraid; he is my disciple, not a ghost or monster,” Xuanzang reassured.

Upon hearing this, the elder looked up and saw Xuanzang’s distinct and kind appearance, which seed far gentler compared to the fierce-looking monkey from before, and his heart settled slightly.

“Which temple’s monk are you, bringing this terrifying ghoul to my house?” the elder then inquired while casting another nervous glance at Sun Wukong standing to the side.

Sun Wukong wrinkled his brow upon hearing this, about to shout angrily.

He was the Monkey King, and yet he was being called a ghost?
