Sha Chen pondered deeply beneath the Flowing Sand River, contemplating how to "peacefully resolve" this matter.

As of now, he and the spider spirits had reached half a consensus: he wished for peace, and the spider spirits sought to resolve him—half each.

The seven spider spirits above the Flowing Sand River didn’t dare to enter the water. After all, they had heard of its great reputation. Even swan feathers couldn’t float on it, and its corrosiveness was extre. They couldn’t swim and disliked dirty water even more. They would feel uncomfortable all over just by going in, not to ntion fighting. Since their intentions had already been exposed, they simply started hurling abuses from above the river.

"You puny deity, how dare you plot against your Grannies! You made that wretched dragon, the Third Prince of the West Sea, release our Wash Dirt Spring, preventing us from bathing for a long ti."

"We kindly intended to rescue you, even inviting you to stay in The Cave of the Silken Web, aiding you in becoming the Great Demon King, yet you are ungrateful."

"Co out quickly, don’t be a shrinking turtle; the little Flowing Sand River can’t protect you. If you don’t co out, we’ll drain all the water."

They were indeed angry. Previously, their plan was to lure Sha Chen into becoming the Demon King and then dominate him, standing proudly in the Demon World. But when the Wash Dirt Spring got destroyed, their minds changed. Though the spring water gradually recovered sowhat, they remained irate and needed to vent their anger.

The seven spider spirits cursed loudly from the river surface, their presence overwhelming, causing all demons and ghosts within the vicinity to tremble. After all, even the weakest among them was an early-stage Golden Immortal, while the strongest had reached the high stages of Golden Immortal, possessing an overwhelming presence and astonishing strength.

Seeing the spider spirits in such a furious state, Muzha frowned. Sha Chen may not be their match; he might get beaten to death.

He even contemplated whether to lend a hand, but he held back. Perhaps pushing Sha Chen to the brink of death would be the right mont to persuade him to defect, and then convert him so that he would rember Buddhism’s grace.

Muzha looked towards the Flowing Sand River, wanting to check on Sha Chen’s situation. However, despite being able to take everything in at a glance, the river had beco so vast that he couldn’t find Sha Chen.

The teacher said that Sha Chen had set up a Formation that even she couldn’t see through; it seems that it’s true. What kind of fortuitous encounter has Sha Chen had to possess such an extraordinary Formation?

Muzha sighed and then murmured, As long as he doesn’t co out, the spider spirits probably can’t do anything to him.

Just as he was musing on this, the spider spirits suddenly produced a bowl. Then, facing the Flowing Sand River, they began to cast a spell. The water from the Flowing Sand River began to surge upwards into the sky and into the bowl. The entire river surface instantly dropped by three zhang.

Muzha was startled and then exclaid in admiration, How clever! By draining the water, Sha Chen’s Formation will likely have nowhere to hide.

Sha Chen, within the Formation, frowned at this sight.

More than half the river water was quickly drawn out, and the bowl was nearly full. Yet, they still couldn’t see where Sha Chen’s Formation lay. The eyes of the spider spirits were sharp, but since they couldn’t find Sha Chen, they grew even angrier.

"Damn it, where is that puny deity hiding? The river water is almost gone, and he can still remain concealed?"

"I’m sure he’s nearby, but why can’t I see him?"

WHOOSH!

Suddenly, Seventh Mother of the spider spirits flew over and stabbed at a certain spot with her sword, but it wouldn’t go through.

She shouted, "The Formation is indeed here, but I can’t detect it or see it."

The other spider spirits were overjoyed, rushing over in an attempt to break the Formation together. However, no matter how sharp their swords were, they could not breach the Formation. After striking at it futilely for a long ti, their arms grew weak and their muscles tired, making it hard to continue.

At that mont, a crescent shovel suddenly flew out from within the Formation, smashing the suspended bowl to pieces. Instantly, the waters of the Flowing Sand River cascaded from the heavens.

The spider spirits were horrified and dispersed in all directions. Yet, a few spider spirits couldn’t dodge in ti and were swept away by the waters, washing them into the river. They hastily ford the water avoidance art and then strove mightily to swim upstream.

Just as they were about to escape the water’s surface, a few spider spirits on the river’s surface also planned to provide assistance. But Seventh Mother, who was the first to detect the Formation, was still a hundred zhang from the water’s surface when she felt two rays of light lock onto her from behind. It was the Parent-child Sword, blocking her path of escape.

Seventh Mother imdiately didn’t dare to move recklessly, but she was also uncomfortable in the water.

She sneered, "Puny deity, do you think just because I’m in the water, I can’t beat you? I am a Golden Immortal."

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

She swung her sword too, and the Parent-child Sword matched her blow for blow. Surprisingly, they were evenly matched.

The spider spirits on the river’s surface were shocked and wanted to dive in to help, but then they suddenly froze. Because, as the mother sword parried Seventh Mother’s sword, the child sword flew out from the mother sword’s hilt, pressing against her neck.

From the riverbed, Sha Chen’s voice ca, "Whoever enters the river, she dies."

The other spider spirits were horrified and imdiately dared not move rashly.

Seventh Mother’s face turned ugly. His cultivation... he’s also a Golden Immortal! she thought. Although she was battling in the river, for him to defeat her so swiftly, Sha Chen had to be a Golden Immortal too.

Sha Chen asked, "Why are you fairies targeting ?"

Seventh Mother huffed, "Isn’t it because you had the Third Prince of the West Sea destroy our Wash Dirt Spring?"

Sha Chen replied, "Every cause has its effect; before this, you had him attempt to kill ."

Seventh Mother added, "That’s because we wanted to help you, but you looked down on us."

Sha Chen said, "I don’t need your help, and I have never heard of those who, failing to help, beco annoyed and fly into a rage."

The seven spider spirits looked montarily embarrassed. Indeed, they had ulterior motives. They said they wanted to help Sha Chen, but in reality, they wanted to use him. Naturally, they were upset when Sha Chen disagreed.

Sha Chen offered, "How about this: I let you leave, and we put an end to this matter, alright?"

Seventh Mother was taken aback for a mont. She had thought that by capturing her, Sha Chen would at least negotiate with her sisters for sothing in return. Any demand wouldn’t be considered excessive. It was even possible that he might kill her. After all, her sisters were incapable of draining the river again, and even less capable of defeating Sha Chen in the river. He was in an invincible position, yet he thought of letting her go.

Could he have an ulterior motive?!

The other spider spirits were also startled, and the eldest said, "General for Folding the Curtain, are you really going to let my seventh sister go?"

Sha Chen affird, "A man of honor stands by his word; once I say sothing, not even four horses can chase it back. However, you must also keep your promise, put an end to this matter, and do not co looking for trouble with again."

Suddenly, Seventh Mother asked, "Why do you want to let us go? With your strength and the environnt here, even if you kill , my sisters won’t be able to do anything to you."

Sha Chen replied, "I don’t want to fight and kill. I just wish to cultivate in peace. If you don’t bother , why would I want to kill you?"

The spider spirits were all dumbfounded.

The look in their eyes changed. Initially, they thought that Sha Chen, being trapped suffering in the Flowing Sand River, must be psychologically twisted. If he caught them, he would definitely think of ways to torture them. Things like chili water, tiger benches, and whips would surely be involved.

Unexpectedly, he actually let them go.

This man, though rough and uncultivated on the surface, has such a noble heart. He is indeed so compassionate and tender towards won.

Compared to that dandy, the Third Prince of the West Sea—so outwardly refined but rely a vainglorious playboy—Sha Chen is ten thousand tis better!

Initially, when they found out that the Third Prince of the West Sea had released the waters of the Wash Dirt Spring, they had fought him. And the Third Prince of the West Sea was no slouch. Facing life and death, he also fought back desperately, giving the sisters a good beating.

That was how their enmity began.
