The battlefield was fire and storm.
Zephyr’s Limit Break surged through his veins, lightning and shadow fusing into sothing beyond mortal reckoning. Pyraxis towered above him, a titan of molten rage, yet for the first ti since the battle began, the Sovereign hesitated.
"You dare..." Pyraxis’ voice trembled, not with fear, but with fury. "You dare rise before ?"
Zephyr’s answer was a slash of pure stormlight that tore across the giant’s chest, carving molten rock into searing fragnts. "I don’t rise before you," he growled, lightning crackling across his fra. "I rise to end you."

Darius’ Last Stand
The Molten Brute bore down on Darius, hamr raised high. His gauntlets were cracked, blood stread down his arms, and every breath felt like a knife in his lungs. The brute’s body reknit itself with every strike, lava refilling its wounds.
"Not... gonna stop ," Darius spat, staggering back to his feet. His legs trembled, but his will was iron.
He dug his fists into the earth, drawing on its primal energy. The ground pulsed, glowing through the cracks. Runes flared across his battered gauntlets as he bellowed, "Earthbreaker’s Wrath!"
He launched upward, striking with the weight of mountains. The blow smashed through the brute’s hamr, shattering it into shards. His next strike caved in the monster’s chest, fissures splitting across its molten form.
The brute howled, lava spewing wildly, before collapsing into the chasm below.
Darius fell to one knee, gasping. "That’s... one down."

Lyra’s Deadly Gambit
The Ember Wraith burned like a wildfire, its form unstable but deadly. Lyra bled from a dozen cuts, her cloak was in tatters, but her eyes were sharp.
The Wraith hissed, flas coiling into scythes. "You will be ashes."
Lyra wiped blood from her lip, then vanished into shadow. She danced through the battlefield, each step closer to death, but every strike she placed carved deeper into the Wraith’s flickering form.
Finally, she reappeared behind it, both daggers buried in its back. She twisted them, whispering, "Shadows don’t burn."
The Wraith shrieked, flas exploding outward — but Lyra dove into its own shadow, reappearing clear as the monster collapsed into cinders.
She staggered, half-conscious, but alive.

Kaelen’s Duel of Wills
The Flacaller bled from his mouth, his once-mighty chants broken and hoarse. His shattered staff smoked at his feet.
"You... cannot... end fla," he rasped, summoning one final torrent of fire that blotted out the sky.
Kaelen’s eyes glowed, storm energy thrumming through him. He raised his hands, runes burning into his skin, and roared against the firestorm. "Storms don’t end — they consu!"
Lightning fell like rain. Each bolt tore through the fire, shredding it apart. Kaelen thrust both hands forward, calling the storm into a single spear of lightning that lanced through the Flacaller’s chest.
The warlock scread, flas dying around him, before collapsing into ash.
Kaelen fell to his knees, coughing blood, his staff splintering into pieces beside him. "Zephyr... it’s up to you now."
--
One by one, the battles ended, leaving only Zephyr and Pyraxis. The colossus of fire raised both hands, summoning a burning sun between them. The heat was unbearable, the very air igniting.
"This is the fire that devours worlds," Pyraxis thundered. "Burn in it and know despair!"
Zephyr’s body scread under the pressure. His armor cracked further, lightning splitting his skin, blood mingling with stormlight. But his eyes never wavered.
He tightened his grip on his sword. "I told you, Pyraxis. I don’t rise before you. I rise to end you."
The sky above split with thunder as stormclouds roared. Lightning converged into Zephyr’s blade until it was no longer tal, but a living storm given form. Shadows wrapped around him, making his presence vast, unyielding.
He leapt, soaring toward the sun Pyraxis held. The colossus bellowed and hurled it downward, a star of fla crashing toward the lone warrior.
Zephyr roared, every ounce of will poured into his strike. His blade cleaved through the sun, splitting it in half, lightning detonating its core in a blinding explosion. Fire and storm consud the battlefield, erasing all in white light.
When the smoke cleared, Pyraxis staggered, a gaping wound through his chest, flas leaking uncontrollably.
"You... impossible..." he gasped.
Zephyr landed before him, body trembling, nearly broken — but still standing. His blade thrumd with the last echoes of the storm.
"You called yourself a Sovereign," Zephyr said, voice low, steady. "But even Sovereigns fall."
He drove the blade upward. Lightning tore through Pyraxis’ form, splitting him from within. The colossus scread, his molten body fracturing, until at last he exploded in a rain of fire and ash.
The battlefield fell silent.

Aftermath
Darius crawled to his feet, bruised and bloody. Lyra limped out of the smoke, daggers still in hand. Kaelen leaned heavily on what remained of his staff. They gathered around Zephyr, who stood swaying, his sword still embedded in the earth.
The system’s voice rang in all their minds:
> [Main Quest Update: Celestial Warlord Pyraxis – DEFEATED.]
[Phase II Progress: 1 of 6 Warlords eliminated.]
[Warning: Remaining Warlords are aware of Pyraxis’ fall.]
Zephyr exhaled, his body finally giving way. Darius caught him before he could fall.
"Rest," Darius said. "You’ve earned it."
But Zephyr’s eyes remained open, staring toward the burning horizon. "This was only the first. The others will co."
Kaelen’s gaze darkened. "If Pyraxis was the weakest, then what waits ahead..."
Lyra smirked weakly, though her eyes betrayed exhaustion. "Then we just keep killing them until none are left."
Thunder rumbled in the distance — not Zephyr’s doing, but sothing else. The storm carried voices, whispers of power, as though the other Warlords were already moving their pieces.
