The glass bridge hissed under Zephyr’s boots, heat rising in shimring waves. Below, the molten river pulsed like the heartbeat of a dying star.
Pyrrathis stood in the center, unmoving, the crimson fire wreathing his form licking high into the furnace-sky. The glaive in his grip was long enough to reach Zephyr in two strides.

"You crossed my realm uninvited," Pyrrathis said, his voice carrying like a bell through the furnace air. "You will be reduced to ash, and your essence will fuel my fla for a thousand years."
Zephyr raised Eclipsefang. "You talk too much for soone who’s about to lose."
Pyrrathis chuckled, low and dangerous. "We’ll see."
---
Phase One — The Bridge Burns
Pyrrathis struck first. The glaive swept horizontally, a trail of fire erupting in its wake. Zephyr vaulted over the slash, landing hard on the unstable glass.
The bridge groaned beneath them, sections lting where Pyrrathis’s attacks landed. Zephyr realized this wasn’t just a duel — it was a race before the bridge collapsed entirely.
Pyrrathis followed with a Scorch Pulse, slamming the glaive into the bridge. A burst of molten energy rippled outward. Zephyr dove to the side, boots skidding on half-lted glass.
He retaliated with a flurry of strikes, aiming for Pyrrathis’s unarmored joints. The Warlord deflected with one hand, his other conjuring chains of living fla that lashed toward Zephyr.
Zephyr ducked under one, cut through the second, but the third wrapped around his sword arm, burning through his bracer.
[SYSTEM] — HP: -6% (Severe Burn)
Gritting his teeth, Zephyr twisted into the pull, using it to drive himself closer, bringing Eclipsefang in a rising arc across Pyrrathis’s chest. Sparks and molten fragnts burst from the impact, but the armor held.
---
Phase Two — The Inferno Rises
Pyrrathis planted his glaive into the bridge. "Let us see how you fight when there is no ground beneath your feet."
The glass exploded. The bridge shattered into floating shards of molten rock, each barely large enough to stand on. Below, the river of magma churned, its heat so intense Zephyr’s vision blurred.
[SYSTEM UPDATE]
New Hazard: Magma Surge. Falling = Instant Failure.
Zephyr leapt to the nearest shard as Pyrrathis stepped effortlessly across the floating platforms, the flas under his feet carrying him.
Every swing of the glaive sent arcs of fire sweeping across multiple shards, forcing Zephyr to keep moving. He rolled across one shard, springboarded off another, and ca down behind Pyrrathis with a heavy slash — only for the Warlord to vanish in a burst of fla and reappear on the opposite side.
Teleportation. Great.
Pyrrathis’s voice echoed from the haze. "You are fast, mortal. But fla is faster."
---
Zephyr’s eyes darted across the shards, spotting patterns in their movent — so drifted predictably, others spun in slow arcs. If he could push Pyrrathis toward the unstable shards...
He feigned a stumble. Pyrrathis took the bait, lunging forward. Zephyr sidestepped at the last second, forcing the Warlord onto a shard that imdiately began sinking toward the magma.
Zephyr leapt onto the sa shard, driving Eclipsefang into the glaive shaft to pin it montarily. With his free hand, he slamd a poml strike into Pyrrathis’s helt. The Warlord staggered — just enough for Zephyr to rake his blade across the fla-wreathed chestplate.
This ti, the armor cracked.
A hiss, almost like pain, escaped Pyrrathis. "Interesting..."
---
Phase Three — Ember Rebirth
Before Zephyr could press the advantage, Pyrrathis leapt back, raising both arms. His flas contracted inward, then erupted outward in a storm of embers.
The shards trembled, then stilled. From the magma below, massive flaming wings rose behind Pyrrathis. His armor fused with the fire, and molten cracks spread along his glaive.
[SYSTEM ALERT]
Boss Phase: Ember Rebirth — Damage Output Increased. Attack Patterns Altered.
---
Pyrrathis moved faster now, the glaive blurring in wide arcs. Every swing launched crescent-shaped blades of fire across the battlefield. Zephyr dodged three — the fourth clipped his leg, sending him to one knee.
[SYSTEM] — HP: -8% (Burn)
Pyrrathis descended in a vertical slash ant to cleave him in half. Zephyr rolled sideways, the glaive splitting the shard in two.
The molten wing nearest him swept forward, trying to envelop him. Zephyr ducked low, stabbing upward into the wing’s core — the fire hissed and recoiled, briefly dimming.
---
Environntal Shift — Magma Surge
The river below erupted, geysers of molten rock shooting upward. One hit a shard behind Pyrrathis, splashing molten stone across his back. The Warlord didn’t flinch, but Zephyr noticed the fire around his left wing guttering.
Target.
Zephyr began forcing the fight toward that side, using quick feints and platform jumps to keep Pyrrathis turning. When the Warlord overextended on a thrust, Zephyr leapt, twisting midair, and brought Eclipsefang down across the weakened wing joint.
The wing shattered in a burst of sparks. Pyrrathis roared, the molten platforms trembling from the sound.
---
"You..." Pyrrathis growled, flas guttering around him. "...will not leave this realm alive."
"Then you’d better kill before I take the other one too," Zephyr shot back.
---
Final Exchange
Pyrrathis charged, each step lting the shards beneath him. Zephyr backpedaled until he felt the shard beneath his boots begin to tilt toward the magma.
Perfect.
At the last mont, he jumped — not away, but over Pyrrathis, landing on the sinking shard behind him. The Warlord whirled, and Zephyr drove Eclipsefang upward through the cracked chestplate, straight into the molten core beneath.
A shockwave of heat exploded outward, nearly throwing him into the magma. Pyrrathis staggered, flas sputtering.
Zephyr twisted the blade once, then wrenched it free.
Pyrrathis fell to one knee, his glaive clattering across the shards. "The fla... yields..."
The molten platforms began drifting toward the spire as the Warlord’s body collapsed into embers that floated upward and vanished.

Zephyr knelt, catching his breath, the sigil’s heat pulsing in his hand. Ahead, the spire lood larger than ever — and sowhere inside, Zahra’s Trial Tir ticked down.
He stood, wiping sweat and soot from his brow. "Hang on, Zahra. I’m coming."
