Heaven’s Wrath

The impossible scene unfolded before their eyes.

The monster that had pushed them to the brink.

The creature that had nearly erased them from existence.

Was currently being restrained like an unruly pet.

All because one lazy guild master had snapped her fingers.

For several seconds, nobody spoke.

The only sounds on the battlefield were the furious roars of the undead dragon and the groaning of the gigantic vines restraining its body.

Videl blinked.

Then blinked again.

"...I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything this ridiculous."

Ruby slowly lowered her halberd.

"That thing almost froze us to death."

Natalia nodded.

"And now it’s losing to gardening."

Brinda stared blankly.

"I don’t know whether I should be relieved or offended."

Even Clara looked speechless.

The scene before them completely shattered the terrifying image they had built around the undead dragon.

The creature thrashed violently.

Green flas burst from the gaps between its bones.

Its enormous wings flapped wildly.

One after another, the massive vines began snapping apart.

CRACK!

CRACK!

CRACK!

The battlefield shook.

Chunks of earth were ripped from the ground.

The dragon’s raw physical strength was simply overwhelming.

Even bound, it remained one of the strongest creatures any of them had ever encountered.

Ruby’s expression beca serious.

"It’s breaking free."

Natalia narrowed her eyes.

"Not completely."

Indeed.

For every vine the dragon destroyed, another seed to erge from beneath the earth.

The frozen plains had transford into a living prison.

Yet even so, the dragon slowly advanced.

Its skeletal claws dug into the ground.

Its burning eyes never left Isabella.

The guild master sighed.

"Why are dragons always so stubborn?"

The undead dragon answered with a deafening roar.

Apparently it disagreed.

More vines exploded apart.

The monster finally tore one wing completely free.

Then another.

The restraints were weakening.

But the delay had already served its purpose.

Isabella casually rolled her shoulders.

The bored look on her face disappeared.

Only slightly.

The air around her changed.

Not violently.

Not dramatically.

Yet everyone felt it.

The mana in the surrounding world seed to respond to her existence.

Even the wind grew still.

Natalia’s eyes widened.

"She’s chanting."

Ruby frowned.

"She’s using a high-tier spell."

Far away, other’s felt goosebumps rise along her skin.

The amount of mana gathering around Isabella was terrifying.

The guild master slowly raised one hand.

Countless arcs of electricity began dancing around her fingers.

The sky darkened.

Clouds gathered overhead.

A low rumble echoed across the heavens.

The undead dragon sensed danger.

It roared and accelerated.

The remaining vines shattered.

Its enormous body surged forward.

Yet Isabella remained calm.

Completely calm.

She pointed one finger toward the charging dragon.

Then spoke.

"[Heaven’s Wrath]."

The world exploded.

BOOOOOOOOM!

A pillar of divine lightning descended from the heavens.

Not a simple bolt.

Not a flash.

It was a colossal spear of destruction.

The lightning was so massive that everyone instinctively looked away.

For an instant, the battlefield beca brighter than daylight.

The bolt dwarfed the one Victor had once summoned within the Mystery Woodland.

This was on an entirely different scale.

The heavens themselves seed to have unleashed judgnt.

The lightning struck the dragon directly.

The impact shook the plains.

The remaining vines vaporized instantly.

The earth beneath the dragon collapsed.

Cracks spread for hundreds of ters.

The sll of ozone filled the air.

Ruby shielded her eyes.

"By the Dragon Goddess..."

Natalia looked equally shocked.

"So that’s why she’s the guild master."

Electricity crawled across the dragon’s body.

Its skeletal fra glowed white.

Several bones turned black from the impact.

Others cracked.

Fragnts flew through the air.

The dragon scread.

Not roared.

Scread.

The sound sent chills down everyone’s spine.

Yet even then...

It did not fall.

The lightning faded.

Smoke covered the battlefield.

Then a gigantic silhouette erged.

Still standing.

Still moving.

Still advancing.

Ruby clicked her tongue.

"Unbelievable."

Natalia nodded slowly.

"A dragon remains a dragon."

Even in death.

Even corrupted.

Even reduced to a skeleton.

The creature refused to submit.

Green flas erupted once more.

Its damaged body charged through the smoke.

Its jaws opened wide.

The dragon wanted only one thing.

To tear Isabella apart.

The guild master sighed.

Again.

The expression on her face looked less like soone fighting for her life and more like soone dealing with paperwork.

"You’re really determined."

The dragon answered by trying to eat her.

"Rude."

Its gigantic jaws slamd shut.

BOOOOM!

The ground exploded.

Dust shot into the sky.

Several mbers of the group gasped.

But when the dust settled...

Nobody was inside the dragon’s mouth.

The creature froze.

Confused.

Then a voice echoed from behind it.

"Missed."

The undead dragon imdiately spun around.

There stood Isabella.

Perfectly unhard.

A glowing magic circle faded beneath her feet.

Spatial mana lingered in the air.

She had teleported.

Clara rubbed her forehead.

"Can she do everything?"

Eon shrugged.

"Apparently."

The dragon lashed out imdiately.

Its tail beca a blur.

The gigantic skeletal weapon swept across the battlefield with enough force to flatten buildings.

Isabella jumped.

Effortlessly.

Her body rose into the air.

The Dragon’s tail passed beneath of her.

The shockwave shattered nearby rocks.

Floating above the battlefield, Isabella looked down at the dragon.

A faint smile appeared on her face.

The first genuine smile she had shown all battle.

"Even as a young undead dragon you’re botherso, as expected of the apex predator. I can’t beat you without unleashing a few of my seals."
