As Julian walked in, he saw the sa gym keeper from before, when the gym keeper saw Julian he smiled and welcod Julian and sent him towards the battlefield where Drayden is currently waiting for his next opponent.
As Julian entered the battle room, he saw Drayden waiting for his next opponent, Drayden also noticed Julian and got serious, he has been waiting for this battle in anticipation, since he knew that this is Julian he knew he had to give it his all.
Being a gym leader is a matter of pride for Drayden and from what he knows, Julian is known to destroy his opponents, completely crush them without sweating at all, he also heard from other gym leaders on how easily he took them down.
For Drayden this was sothing he cannot except, being a gym leader ans being a powerful figure that cannot be defeated so easily. So he decided to go all out in this battle.
Julian got on the battlefield and took his position and looked at Drayden.
Drayden "You have finally co, I have been waiting for this mont"
Julian "What can I say, I was too busy with other stuff"
Drayden "Understandable, but let's not waste any ti. Referee"
Drayden said and called for the referee to host the battle, the referee soon walked in and took his place on the battlefield as well, he then looked at both trainers and started to explain the rules of the battle, it was the sa exact rules as any other gym battle.
Only the challenger will be allowed to switch pokemon in the middle of the battle and this will be a 3 vs 3 pokemon battle, Julian has already decided which pokemon he will use for this battle, he had decided this a month ago but he got delayed because of all the things that happened in the past few weeks.
Once the referee was done with all his, he asked both trainers to pick their pokemon, and just like their first eting, Julian sent Escavalier and Drayden sent out his Druddigon.
With both pokemons on the battlefield, the referee waved his flag and gave the signal to start the battle.
Referee "You may start the battle"
As soon as the referee gave the go, Drayden made the move
Drayden "Druddigon, use Fire Punch"
Drayden started off with a power move, he wanted to take down Julian's pokemon as soon as possible and Escavalier being four tis weak to fire, this move would do the job, Druddigon is a powerful physical attacker and this should do a lot of damage.
His Druddigon used its wings and charged at Escavalier as a boost with its claws covered with burning hot fla, as Druddigon got close Julian made his move as well.
Julian "Counter with Brutal Strike"
Julian's taught Escavalier to fight by standing his ground, if an enemy cos closer they will have little chance to overpower Escavalier, this also makes Escavalier vulnerable to special type moves from far away but Julian likes to keep Escavalier's defensive asures a secret.
As Druddigon got close and ready to punch Escavalier, Escavalier used his lance-like arms and used Brutal Strike, he swung his lance-like arm and countered, as the two attacks clashed, it created a massive shockwave and Druddigon was sent rolling back while Escavalier soon his ground.
This is what Julian thought him to do, with his super slow speed, Escavalier is not ant to dodge attacks, his only defense is his lance-like hands and his tal armor.
Even though his moving around speed is slow, his body movents are very fast, Julian put a lot of emphasis on this, if Escavalier cannot move fast, his hands should at least be fast enough to counter anything.
Drayden was surprised, he didn't think his Druddigon would lose a physical exchange, luckily the exchange was not too brutal on Druddigon and he ca out with only a few scratches on his scale.
Julian "Stand your ground for now"
Julian said and waited for Drayden to make a move, Druddigon is not a pokemon that is good at Special Attacks so Julian knows he really doesn't have to worry about Drayden's Druddigon suddenly using an ultra-powerful fast fire type special attack.
Drayden saw this current situation and knew he has to do more than just directly attacking with brute force.
Drayden "Use Dragon Tail"
Drayden really didn't have any good special moves so his only options are physical moves, with his instructing Druddigon rushed towards Escavalier, as it got close, it planted its leg firmly on the ground and swung its hip to put more power behind its tail and struck with everything it got.
Julian "Counter with Night Slash"
Escavalier used one of his lance-like hands and slashed at the Dragon Tail to counter it, as the two moves clashed, it created another shock wave that was more impactful than before but what happened next surprised Julian.
As Druddigon's foot was planted, the force of the collision caused Druddigon to spin at a very high rate and strike the other side of Escavalier.
Escavalier was pushed to the side a little but he just shook of the strike as if it was nothing, Julian would have been more impressed if that strike would have carried the sa amount of power as the original Dragon Tail but it lost a lot of power because of the exchange.
Julian "Impressive, but you need to do more than that".
