For Vivian, the sound of Gu Yan’s voice was like music from heaven!

She suddenly mustered all her courage, pushed away the person in front of her, and then darted to Gu Yan’s side... Yes, darted!

It was obvious the little girl was truly terrified!

One could guess that the speed was also instinctual, as she had never moved so quickly before!

Gu Chen, hearing his sister’s voice, also beca a bit more alert, the sweet scent at the edge of his nostrils disappearing as he regained his usual calm and deep deanor.

Gu Yan had already co over, followed by the startled Vivian.

Gu Chen, "Is she your friend?"

Gu Yan nodded, "She’s the friend I ntioned before, Vivian, I invited her to co play at our ho today."

Gu Chen nodded, his expression calm, as if the person from before wasn’t him, he lifted his head to look at Vivian, and spoke with an even tone, "Sorry, I initially thought an intruder had co into our house."

Vivian was still quite scared, too tense earlier to think, but now after hearing the conversation between Gu Yan and him, she recognized his identity.

The current monarch of Landis Star, Gu Chen.

Since he had been mistaken and had already apologized, Vivian imdiately said with nervousness, "No, it’s okay, it’s also my fault, I should have identified myself earlier."

Being terrified, she couldn’t utter a single word, and of course, she missed the best mont to explain.

With the misunderstanding cleared up, Gu Chen turned and left, while Gu Yan, seeing the spilled juice cup on the ground, waved for the household robot to clean it up and then brought another cup over.

Vivian, still shaken, chatted with Gu Yan, but could not relax as she had before.

After finishing up in the kitchen, Su Wan did not go to the garden, knowing that her daughter had a lot to talk about with her friend.

Looking up, she saw her eldest son co in from outside.

"Xiaochen, you’re back so early today?" Su Wan observed her son’s condition, then her eyes darkened, "You’re about to enter your Manic-Depressive Period, aren’t you?"

"Mhm, I’m going to my room to take my exclusive dicine."

"Go ahead."

Su Wan knew Xiaochen was under great pressure, after all, sitting in that position ant bearing a lot, and she had always felt a bit sorry for her son, who had endured so much from a young age.

Originally, Su Wan had not agreed to let her son take that position, knowing once he did, it would demand so much from him.

Yet, as Xiaochen grew up, he chose to take that position voluntarily to protect his family...

But the Manic-Depressive Period has always been a weakness for Beastn, and those with strong spiritual power suffer even more if it’s not alleviated during that period.

Su Wan was a bit worried about her son.

Vivian was still at the Commander’s residence, having spent the whole day, and overall, aside from that mont of fright, she was very happy.

Naturally, seeing her good friend Gu Yan happy, Vivian was cheerful the entire ti, to avoid worrying her buddy.

After all, being invited to a friend’s ho to play was a kind gesture.

And most importantly, the food Commander Su made was so delicious.

Gu Yan even specially packed a box of snacks, handing them to Vivian, "These can be preserved for a long ti, you can take them ho to eat. How about we et again next week when we return to school?"

"Sure."

Vivian took public transportation back to her ho, just as her mother, Julia, had returned from work.

Julia was naturally a very gentle person, and although she had aged, not quite as lively as she had been during her University days in the Empire, her eyes and brows still carried a lot of warmth.

Julia: "Did you spend the whole day at your friend’s house? How co you’ve brought back sothing with you?"

Vivian: "It was made by hand by Xiaoyan’s mom, and it’s especially delicious. Mom, you should try so quickly."

Julia pretended to be angry, "Are you saying it tastes better than the snacks I make?"

Vivian nodded honestly, "Yes. Mom, you’ve lost fair and square, after all Commander Su is the best cook on the entire Landis Star."

Julia, who was changing her shoes, paused slightly in her movents.

She said in astonishnt, "Whom did you say?"

"My good friend Xiaoyan’s mother, Commander Su Wan. Mom, she even rembers you. You couldn’t have forgotten her, could you?"

The shoe in Julia’s hand dropped to the ground.

"The good friend you’ve been talking about is Su Wan’s daughter, and you went to Su Wan’s ho today?"

It was the first ti Vivian saw her mother like this, and she paused, then nodded her head, feeling a bit nervous, "Mom, what’s wrong?"

Julia looked worried as she spoke softly to her clueless daughter, "The Gu Family is the most honored family on Landis Star, with so many people looking at them, and we are just ordinary people. Vivian, if you get close to Gu Yan, it’ll be considered that you have ulterior motives, seeking to ingratiate yourself."

Vivian was taken aback, "That won’t happen, Gu Yan is a very good person, she wouldn’t think that way!"

"She might not, but it doesn’t guarantee that others won’t think that! Vivian, you and Gu Yan are still young, but the adult world is far more complex than you can imagine."

Vivian had always heard her mother saying that they should live as ordinary people because the outside world was too dangerous and too complicated, and she had always listened to her mother to do just that.

But had she not even considered that making friends might not be possible?

She looked hopefully at her mother, "Mom, can I still be friends with Gu Yan?"

Julia wanted to say it was better not to, but seeing her daughter’s hopeful look, she softened in the end.

She said, "It’s okay to interact normally in school, but in the future, don’t go to her house."

"Oh."

Vivian held the little snack in her hand and suddenly felt that, although it was still delicious, its sweetness had faded in her mouth.

anwhile, Julia watched her daughter leave with a worried expression.

There was no helping it, given the status of the child’s father... they could only live low-profile lives on Landis Star.

**

At the Commander’s mansion.

A family of four sat eating dinner at the dining table. With Gu Chen absent, Gu Yan looked left and right curiously and asked, "Didn’t big brother co back? Where is he?"

Su Wan: "Your brother is busy with sothing. Just eat."

Gu Yan nodded and didn’t think much of it, while Gu Yu picked up a shrimp for her.

After dinner, when the children had left, Su Wan spoke to Gu Jue, "Xiaochen’s Manic-Depressive Period has co, and his condition is not looking good, getting more serious. I’m afraid even the exclusive dicine might not be able to control it any longer."

Gu Jue: "Back in my ti, I experienced the sa thing. Generally, during this period, I would pilot my cha to fight Star Beasts and Star Thieves."

It was a form of emotional diversion.

Moreover, the Universe was quite chaotic during Gu Jue’s era.

Su Wan was sowhat worried, "Xiaochen’s situation is different from yours; he has to spend most of his ti on Landis Star. I’ll contact Gu Qingyu to see if he has any solutions."

"Mhm."
