Luo Jie hurriedly bowed his head and said, "Uncle, the issue is my failure to discipline Qianqian properly, but, it has nothing to do with Xiaoqi! Haven’t you said that only by allowing the Empress to co from our Luo Family can we maintain our family’s position?"
The elder patriarch said coldly, "I thought you had potential and recomnded you for the position of the next family head, but now it seems, let’s forget about it."
Out of desperation, Luo Jie said many good words, but none worked, and in the end, the elder patriarch sent him back ho.
He had thought, with his daughter becoming the Empress, he was about to sit as the next head of the Luo Family, and everything was finally looking up, but it was all ruined by that girl Qianqian!
So, when Luo Jie returned ho, he directly slapped Qianqian, who had just gotten back!
And with Qianqian’s face still swollen, she was about to complain to her parents but was stunned by another slap from her father!
"Dad, why did you hit ? It was clearly Gu Yan bullying , she wanted to steal Mu Feng away, and then she even encouraged her brother His Majesty to reject my sister!"
"Even if all that is true, you should not have provoked her! Look what you’ve done now, you’ve ruined everything!"
Stunned, Qianqian’s face throbbed painfully, making her burst into tears.
The Luo Family’s series of reactions were unknown to Gu Yan; after school, she greeted Vivian, then joined her brother Gu Yu on the aircraft and went ho.
Su Wan had already returned ho, and Gu Jue had so matters at the military departnt and had not yet co back.
Su Wan asked again about what had happened to her daughter during the day, and Gu Yan obediently recounted the events.
Su Wan said, "You don’t need to worry about Luo Qi’s situation; Xiaochen will probably take care of the Luo family mbers. Are they really that greedy, thinking that just because a previous Empress was from their Luo Family, all future Empresses would have to co from their family?"
Not to ntion Xiaochen is not Gu Zilan’s son, even if he were, the next Empress wouldn’t continue to hail from the Luo Family, would she!
Actually, Su Wan had a good impression of the Luo Family in the past, and she was even friends with Luo Jina; not to ntion Luo Manya.
Even though by generational hierarchy Luo Manya is technically her junior, Su Wan genuinely liked Luo Manya, who appeared gentle normally, but was very strong when faced with adversity.
Furthermore, she liked one aspect of the Luo Family very much: they valued daughters over sons!
Speaking of which, the two families were related, but given the large number of people in the Luo Family, you can’t guarantee that everyone’s character would be as good as Luo Manya’s and Luo Jina’s.
"However, Yan, even though our family holds a high status on Landis Star, we must not actively seek trouble or bully others, but, if soone else bullies us, just like this ti, we must not show any rcy," said Su Wan.
Gu Yan nodded seriously, "Okay, Mom, I understand."
Su Wan, previously worried about her daughter, now felt reassured upon seeing her reaction, suddenly rembered another matter, "Oh right, in a while, the Insectoids will send ten exchange students to your Empire University. Although they certainly an no harm to Landis Star, but... you might want to pay attention when the ti cos."
Su Wan’s reminder was very subtle; oh, the worries of having a grown-up daughter.
Gu Yan nodded swiftly, thinking to herself whether Brother Little Mushroom, who had ntioned coming over before, would arrive with this group of exchange students?
They hadn’t seen each other for a long ti because Brother Little Mushroom was mostly busy, and every ti they t, they were cautious, worried about being discovered by Gu Yan’s parents.
The young girl’s joy was visibly building, and Su Wan was a bit puzzled, "Yan, you seem happy about the Insectoids coming?"
"Oh, no, Mom, it’s just that military training is about to start soon, and I’m looking forward to that."
Su Wan recalled the timing and figured it must be ti for the new student military training at Empire University. Her own military training had been quite strict, but Yan and her peers wouldn’t need it, as they weren’t from a military academy.
However, Su Wan still said, "Xiaoyan, there will be strict physical training, and though Mom knows it’s tough, you still need to persevere."
Improving physical fitness is for her daughter’s own good. Su Wan certainly didn’t wish for her daughter to use special privileges to avoid physical exercises.
Once back in her room, Gu Yan imdiately sent a ssage to the Insect God.
Gu Yan: Brother Little Mushroom, are you going to co to Landis Star with the exchange students?
This ti, the Insect God replied very quickly.
Insect God: Yes, I originally wanted to give you a surprise.
Gu Yan: Ah, can you stay for a few more days when you’re here?
Insect God: Sure.
Because the Insect God was busy, Gu Yan didn’t continue chatting with him, but she was very happy knowing for sure that he would co.
The matter with Gu Yan faded as people on the forum deleted their own posts, and it didn’t escalate further. Not to ntion, the fact that Insectoids were coming as exchange students quickly drew the attention of the faculty and students of Empire University.
Everyone imdiately began discussing the event enthusiastically.
Vivian asked Gu Yan with so nervousness, "Xiaoyan, I heard that Insectoids are very fierce. Do you think they’ll bully us when they co?"
Gu Yan knew her roommate was timid even though she was a Beastman. She felt like in tight situations, it would be up to her to protect Vivian.
Gu Yan said, "Don’t worry, we’re friendly planets with the Insectoid Planet. They’re just here to learn."
If they really ca to Empire University to cause trouble, it would an they wanted to destroy the friendship between the two planets.
Impossible.
Gu Yan rembered Brother Little Mushroom saying that they, the Insectoids, were unfamiliar with this universe, so they wanted to learn more from Landis because this universe was suitable for them to live in.
The friendship between the two planets had been maintained for more than a decade, and it wasn’t likely to be ruined now.
Most importantly, Gu Yan believed that Brother Little Mushroom would never deceive her.
The discussions about the Insectoid exchange students on the Empire University forum continued until the arrival of the Insectoid exchange students, then it stopped.
There was no helping it, as when those Insectoids entered the school, they would be able to see the posts on the school forum themselves, and the administrators had already deleted posts with more aggressive language.
And most of the faculty and students of Empire University were very welcoming toward the Insectoid exchange students.
This ti, the team of Insectoid exchange students was led by Commander Xi Le himself, but he wouldn’t be staying for too long. He had assigned another female commander, Insectoid Lina, to stay here for a longer period in a supervisory role.
And Lina was the sa female Insectoid that Su Wan and the others had encountered in the Insect Nest, one of the few who knew that among the ten exchange students was their Lord Insect God.
Principal Gu Lei of Empire University, along with a few teachers, personally welcod the group to the school. He nodded at Xi Le and said, "I have received the students’ information. I will have our teachers arrange their dormitories and majors right away."
Xi Le smiled politely, "Then I’ll have to trouble Principal Gu Lei."
And Su Man, standing a few steps behind Xi Le, stepped forward and said with a smile, "Uncle Gu, long ti no see."
