The valiant little princess paused in her movent of wiping sweat from her forehead.

Her voice, however, lowered.

"I miss Grandpa and Grandma, they went to the Forbidden Area before they left on their trip."

Gu Ruanruan’s grandfather was the forr head of the Federal Empire, Gu Yuan.

He was Gu Jue’s elder brother and Gu Zilan’s father.

Little Gu Chen blinked, "Didn’t they go on a universe tour? But co to think of it, they’ve been gone for several years now, I’ve never seen them."

Gu Ruanruan humd in acknowledgnt.

She said, "For the first few years, they would send communication projections, but later on, we lost contact with them."

Every year, Gu Zilan would send people to look for them everywhere, but without any results.

Little Gu Chen blinked again.

Not knowing how to comfort Ruanruan, he reached out his small hand and took Gu Ruanruan’s hand.

"Your dad is so strong, my dad is also so strong, they will definitely be able to find them!"

"Yeah!"

Landis City.

As night fell, the pace of people on the streets quickened as they hurried ho for dinner.

Su Wan looked up at the sky.

Lin Yu asked her in a low voice, "Xiaowan, what’s wrong?"

Su Wan: "There are stars in the sky."

Lin Yu and the others were taken aback for a mont.

They looked up, seeing the stars twinkling against the pitch-black night sky.

Su Wan felt that life in Landis was very similar to that on Ancient Earth.

The scientific technology here was the sa as in Ancient Earth; for a mont, she even thought she had traveled back again.

But the presence of Lin Yu and the others reminded her that it wasn’t so.

Su Wan said, "Let’s follow them and enter the main city."

"To enter the main city, it seems you need so kind of docunt."

This was the reason they hadn’t gone in yet; although they had changed into local clothes, without the docunt, they couldn’t enter.

And they had looked all around without spotting any of their companions.

It seed that Sheng An and the others must be in this main city!

Just at that mont, a convoy happened to be heading toward the main city.

It appeared to be a circus, with large covered wagons at the back, carrying many animals.

Su Wan imdiately led a few people to jump onto the covered wagon.

The sll inside the covered wagon was so pungent that iling almost teared up; she turned to look at Su Wan.

The other woman was the wife of a commander, certainly more pampered, and probably could not stand the sll of this environnt.

But as it turned out...

She discovered that Su Wan was staring blankly at a lion on the wagon.

The lion had a ferocious expression, baring its teeth and snarling.

Su Wan just quietly watched it.

iling whispered, "Su Wan, what’s wrong?"

Su Wan: "These animals, they are all ordinary animals, not Star Beasts."

Star Beasts were actually mutated animals that had adapted more suitably to their environnt; so grew wings on their bodies, or an extra pair of horns.

Or sharp teeth.

Parts of their bodies would mutate to a certain extent.

But the animals on this wagon were simply animals, exactly like those on Ancient Earth.

Everyone fell silent.

The covered wagon rocked gently and successfully entered the city.

Several people quietly jumped off it, but because Joe stepped on sothing, he made an inadvertent noise.

A bearded man imdiately ca over and saw the group of people.

"Who are you?"

Everyone beca wary, even Lin Yu was ready to make a move.

At this ti, Su Wan spoke up, "The four of us are here to take on part-ti temporary work; these two are odd job workers, and she and I are kitchen helpers."

The bearded man was taken aback, noting that all four people looked very young.

Most importantly, they indeed needed so extra hands at the mont.

He tentatively believed Su Wan’s words.

He told Lin Yu and Qiao to move things while directing Su Wan and iling to the kitchen in the back.

Su Wan said to Lin Yu and Qiao, "We’ll talk about other things after we get busy and have eaten."

Lin Yu nodded.

As Su Wan and iling entered the kitchen, they were enveloped in steam, but Su Wan’s vision was sharp, and she could still make out that there was only one auntie busy at work.

The circus was of a considerable size, and there were quite a few staff mbers; not counting the four of them, there were almost twenty people.

One person cooking indeed seed quite overwheld.

The auntie was grumbling about how stingy the leader was for not hiring a couple more people.

The bearded man hurriedly said, "Sister Li, haven’t I brought people over? These two young girls are here to work part-ti; let them assist you."

Sister Li took a look at the slender and young Su Wan and iling and imdiately frowned, "These two girls are as thin as bean sprouts, what can they do? Sun Gang, are you doing this on purpose?"

iling couldn’t help but speak up, "Sister Li, I’m actually quite strong!"

Although she was a pure human and not as physically capable as a Beastman, having qualified for the Eighth Starship Fleet ant that iling’s physical fitness was much stronger than that of an ordinary person.

Sister Li sized up iling, "Alright then, help move these potatoes to the sink over there and peel them."

"Okay!"

iling was trained in dicine, and she didn’t know how to cook.

But she was skilled with a scalpel!

So, peeling potatoes was a piece of cake.

Seeing iling effortlessly carry two large bags of potatoes over and then begin to peel them skilfully,

Sister Li nodded in approval.

Just then, she heard the sound of chopping vegetables.

Turning around, Sister Li saw the other slender girl had already rolled up her sleeves and cut the washed cabbage into very even sections.

Su Wan looked up and smiled, "Sister Li, are you going to make cabbage and pork stew with vermicelli? I know how to make that, let do it."

"Sister Li, how about another pot of shredded potatoes? Do you want spicy and sour, vinegar-flavored, or just the plain kind?"

"And how about so tomato and egg stir-fry? That goes well with rice."

"I’ve stead the rice."

Sister Li: "..."

She watched in surprise as the young girl efficiently prepared each dish.

The other girl was also clean and efficient, even chopping vegetables better than she did?

So skinny, yet so strong!

Sister Li’s eyes crinkled into slits as she smiled, her attitude towards the two girls making a complete one-hundred-and-eighty-degree turn.

Especially when the als were served in the temporary dining hall and all the staff was sitting down to eat.

Soone shouted, "Sister Li, the dishes tonight are even tastier than usual!"

"Exactly, this spicy and sour shredded potatoes, fantastic!"

"I need to get another bowl of rice!"

Sister Li had a smile that blood like a flower; she decided she would speak to Sun Gang later, to have these two girls work part-ti a bit longer, not to be stingy and to pay them a bit more.

By dinner ti, the four of them, including Su Wan, finally gathered again.

Lin Yu said in a low voice, "I’ve found out that the circus will be resting these next two days. We’ll split up during the day to look around, to see if we can find any clues about our other companions."

Su Wan nodded.

She was holding her water cup, drinking warm water, and she looked up.

"Why does that Wasted Star connect to this place?"
