Lars' Stance
I decided to speak to Abel once more, who was silently deep in thought.
「Everyone is really strong, but I think we would be even better if we acquired so skills. Also, if we studied tactics and learned to cooperate well, I believe we would beco stronger.」
Upon saying that, Abel made a slightly displeased face.
「... We have always been in the midst of battle. By the ti I was five, I was already participating in hunts. I think we are not inferior even compared to the human knight squads.」
「In a one-on-one battle, that might be true...」
The beastn have their own pride. They take pride in having lived in a harsh forest with only about a hundred people. I pondered how best to convey my thoughts without offending them.
I didn't want to anger them. How could I peacefully get them to listen to my opinion?
While I was worrying, Abel exhaled lightly and narrowed his eyes.
「... My bad. I'll listen to what you have to say.」
While I was struggling with how to proceed, Abel suddenly said that, surprising . When I looked up, Abel had a sowhat calm expression and shook his head from side to side.
「... I understand your personality. Moreover, I know you don't wish to harm this village...so, as the village chief, I've decided to listen.」
「Oh, you sound like a village chief.」
「... I'll stop listening if you continue.」
I was so surprised that I made a flippant remark. Abel frowned, displeased. Laughing at Abel's reaction, I nodded in response.
「I'm just joking. I'm glad you'll listen.」
When I said that with a laugh, everyone behind Abel also began to laugh. The atmosphere suddenly lightened, creating an easier environnt for conversation. I decided to share my thoughts while observing everyone's expressions.
「Well then, let start again... Everyone in this village seems to fight with a focus on individual physical abilities. You hunt in groups of three or five, but each person senses the presence of magical beasts, and when found, launch a surprise attack or attack from a distance with arrows. Sotis you utilize the terrain too, but it feels like soone always acts as a decoy to lead the beasts.」
「That's correct. However, we've been able to hunt even dium-sized magical beasts like that. What's the problem?」
Abel, more composed than before, asked honestly. I nodded and answered clearly for better understanding.
「You're not utilizing job aptitude nor embracing the concept of tactics, perhaps?」
「Hmm.」
Abel grunted. Behind him, the beastman exchanged glances. It seed these ideas weren't sothing they consciously considered.
「For example, many in this village have warrior job aptitudes, right? Warrior aptitude enhances strength and stamina, doesn't it?」
I asked, but no one agreed.
「Does it?」
「... Don't you feel like your movents have beco faster?」
「I don't know.」
It appeared they didn't have much awareness of it. They neither agreed nor disagreed, they simply didn't know.
「Well, beastn are naturally agile with sharp senses, so it can't be helped.」
I said this to myself, nodding alone, and returned to my explanation.
「... Anyway, I want you to think of it this way for now: warriors have strength and stamina, archers are dexterity and agility, mages are intelligent, priests have stamina and intelligence, and thieves are solely speed-focused.」
I explained the basics of job aptitudes. This seed to be understandable, and everyone nodded in agreent.
Then, one child suddenly raised a hand.
「What about rchants?」
In response to that question, the beastman with rchant job aptitudes in the village, just three of them, looked up. I could understand their curiosity.
「rchants mainly have special skills and abilities, so their physical abilities don't improve. Well, they do strengthen gradually as they grow.」
When I answered, the three beastman slumped their shoulders. So of them looked as if it was the end of the world. Well, it can't be helped.
I, too, have a job aptitude not suited for combat. It's tough to live in this forest, so I can't deny that.
Watching the three downcast individuals with a wry smile, I continued.
「Next, let's talk about skills. For warriors, I want you to first learn Sword Mastery and Parry. Just having those will increase your survival rate. If you've gained enough proficiency, learning Iron Wall might be good, but right now, you can only manage basic wound treatnt.」
When I said that, so warriors raised their hands to express their doubts.
「What about Heavy Strike? Almost all warriors know Heavy Strike.」
「It's an effective skill against opponents with high defense, but survival cos first. Of course, after learning Sword Mastery and Parry, it's a good idea. Then, archers... I want you to beco the scouts and attackers ideally. So, you should learn Hawk's Eye, Detect Presence, and Piercing Shot. Five of you should also learn Triple Shot. And then...」
Before I knew it, I was discussing skill composition as if I were talking to guild mbers in a ga. Naturally, Abel and the others didn't understand at all and were left baffled, but it couldn't be helped.
This is what happens when you let a hardcore gar talk about gas. Well, I apologize.
