The next day, Patel woke up early to go to the clinic to start the audiology therapy sessions. Noah dropped her and waited for her until she finished. The following days went the sa for her and slowly, She was getting used to being able to hear. Every day she was hearing new sounds and experiencing her reaction towards the new sounds that she hears for the first ti.
A month passed by since she started to hear. It was indeed life-changing for her. One of the things that she likes to do these days is staying up late at night watching TV. She loved watching the audio shows. To her, it was better than the one that uses the ASL language.
Finishing with her second TV show for the night, She decided to get so snacks before the next show started. Walking downstairs, She went towards the kitchen, But on her way there she heard soone’s voice, A voice that she hadn’t heard before.
She entered the kitchen and peeked from inside to see who that voice belonged to. Seeing who it was, Patel’s heart skipped a beat. The voice belonged to that man, The evil man.
In the living room, Ethan was reviewing the guests’ list who will attend the next banquet.
"Should we invite the Mailer family?" His mother asked.
"Yes, We should, We entered into a big project with them six months ago, It will be impolite to not invite them." Ethan replied, His deep voice echoing throughout the living room and the empty hallway.
Back to the kitchen, Patel left the kitchen in a hurry and climbed upstairs heading towards her room.
She took a deep breath to calm herself, Picking up the cup of water that was on the table, She drank it in gulp before she placed it back on the table and then she walked towards the balcony of her room and opened it and went inside to have so fresh air.
Hearing that man’s voice made her feel scared. His voice was as scary as his actions.
But why did her heart skip a beat when she heard his voice? Was it out of fear? She wondered.
Patel placed her hands on the railing looking at the view in front of her, She cleared her mind and felt a little relaxed.
The last soone she had wanted to see or hear is that man’s voice, Her body shivered and rembered his deep voice.
She had heard talk about a banquet. Is that why Alice asked her to go shopping with her the next weekend? Her father used to have banquets in his mansion too, But she always skipped them.
Her father’s friends always looked down on her. She wasn’t able to hear it at the ti, But she could see it with the look in their eyes.
