Chapter 136: Sober enough

Petal realized that all this ti Ethan was only giving her attention. He never asked her to please him. She realized that she is being selfish using her shyness and disability as an excuse. She was the only one who felt the pleasure and enjoyed it.

reaching for his hand. She pulled him towards the stairs. Ethan followed her lead like a good boy. Even though he was drunk. He was sober enough to notice that Petal was planning to do sothing.

Letting her guide him towards the bedroom. Ethan watched how stiff her body was and how tense her shoulders were. When they reached the bedroom. Pearl turned to look at him. Her innocent eyes tell him to guide her from here.

Ethan pressed a kiss on her cheek and then he started to unbutton her coat before he removed it. Though the dress that Petal was wearing wasn’t too revealing. But it looked good on her. Especially the dark color on her pale pink skin.

Petal wanted to make him look away from her. His intense gaze was making her feel more nervous than she already is.

"Co." Ethan pulled her towards the bed taking her hand in his.

Letting her sit on the bed. Ethan kneeled in front of her. Taking off her shoes. As much as he liked them in her feet. But he will let this fantasy continue for another day. Rising on his feet. He ca to sit next to her as he kicked off his shoes Climbing the bed as he pulled her to lay down with him.

"Relax." Ethan said, pushing her hair back.

Ethan rubbed her bare arm soothingly to calm her. Petal’s hand rested on his chest drawing circles feeling less nervous now. She lifted her head looking at him. Her hand that was on his chest moved up to touch his hair. It was one of the things that she liked. It was so soft and smooth.

Ethan enjoyed the feeling of her fingers running through his hair. "It feels good." Ethan comnted loving the feeling.

Petal smiled and continued to run her hand through his black hair. Petal noticed that his hair wasn’t completely black like her. A shade of brownish color could be noticed if you looked closely. It was hard to believe that this man is hers and only hers. Ethan was everything she wasn’t and everything she was at the sa ti.

Over the last few months. She discovered that he’s a warm-hearted person despite the aloofness that he shows. He cares for his family and his loved ones. She watched how he treated his mother with the utmost respect like he wasn’t one of the most powerful and dangerous n in the country.

"Petal." Ethan called her, noticing her mind drafting elsewhere.

Petal’s eyes t his seeing the smile on his lips. A rare and charming smile. It should be photographed. She thought to herself as she stared at him in awe.

"I have sothing to give. I thought about giving it to you during dinner but I didn’t want to ruin the mont." Ethan said, reaching for his trousers pocket taking out a royal blue box.

Petal tilted her head not understanding what he ant. She watched as he opened the box lid with his long finger revealing the two-piece sapphire ring. Her heart skipped a beat and her eyes widened. An audible gasp ca off her lips. Her eyes moved between him and the ring.

"I know it’s still early. But I wanted to make sure that you’re mine. I love you Petal. I never was good at expressing myself. I love you and I want you to be with . I know that there’s an age gap between us that might scare you but I am an open-minded person. I promise to not make you feel caged or steal your freedom. All I ask is to accept and just be you and nothing more. So do you accept ?" He asked, cupping her face.

Petal’s eyes watered. Her heart was racing. Her mind stopped thinking. She sat up on the bed looking at him with wide eyes. "Ethan. Are you drunk? Do you realize what you’re saying?" She asked. signaling. Not believing everything he said and everything was happening.

If she accepted. She will be his fiancee. HIS FIANCEE!

Ethan let out a rare laugher vibrating from within his chest that made her body shader and her insides clutch.

"I am sober enough to know that I can’t live without you. Petal. So won’t you be mine? We will keep it to ourselves until you’re ready." Ethan replied to her words shattering all her defenses.

Petal’s vision beca blurry from the tears. She felt Ethan pull her in his arms hugging her. It was what she needed right now. She needed to feel his warmth before she made her final decision. One that will change her life.

Ethan’s arms warped around her protectively telling her that she was alright with him. In his arms. He could feel the wetness on his shirt that was caused by her tears and he didn’t mind it. He didn’t mind anything from her.

A quiet sob ca from Petal’s lips as she hugged him tightly, burying her face in his neck. She felt all the sadness leaving her soul. Tonight. Ethan made her the happiest person on earth.

Pulling away. She wiped her tears before she looked at him."Yes." Petal replied. signaling slowly for him.

Taking her hand. Ethan slipped the two-piece ring on her finger watching how it suited her elegant finger. Petal felt like her head was spinning as she watched the sapphire ring in her finger now. A symbol saying that she was his and he was hers now. Her hazel eyes t his gray once in shyness Not knowing what to do. But he always knew.

Ethan brought his face closer to hers. Pressing his lips on hers. The kiss was slow giving her the ti to adjust to her rushing feelings but cald her at the sa ti. One hand tangled between her soft silky locks and the other warped around her body.
