Literature class was as boring as usual. It feels like the person in charge of the curriculum for each class’s subject schedule should be checked. Because how is it possible that after sports class, the next class is language class?

But then again, if he think about it, it’s not that bad for the quite lazy students, because Kai saw maybe five or six of his classmates sleeping in class. He can’t really bla them because maybe Mrs. Louise’s class is super boring, but of course it’s not good to sleep in the class.

Kai read the lesson material given by Mrs. Louise, doing an analysis of the reading titled "The Snow Goose", a work by Gallico. Well, the story in a nutshell, it’s all about the connection between two quiet souls, a lonely painter nad Rhayader who lives in a lighthouse next to a marsh, and a girl nad Fritha who appears one day carrying an injured white goose. Words are powerless to describe the deep affection they have for each other.

Kai smoothly wrote a summary of the reading, not because he’s smart or anything (Well he is smart), but because he had already read Gallico’s story even before he beca "Kai". Yeah, in his previous life, "Ryan" sotis liked to read classic stories because "Arisa", his girl friend, always brought a few classic novels. Including Arisa’s favorite masterpiece titled "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Bronte. So, he could say he was a victim of reading a classic things.

Not long after few minutes pass, the class ended and now it was ti for lunch break, as he had promised Kevin. Kai got up from his seat and went over to Kevin’s desk in the second row, near the door.

"Let’s go."

"Sure thing, mister number one. Aren’t you going with your girlfriend, Chloe?"

"She’s not my girlfriend, we’re just mutual friends."

"Ohh~ mutual friends, so she’s a ’friend with benefits’~"

Kai just sighed. This was like the second ti he’d heard the sa thing. "So, are we going or not?"

"Haha~ I’m just kidding." Kevin got up from his seat, still wearing a smirk that seed to tease Kai. "But, if you two do becoming a love birds, at least treat to a al."

"Umm, yeah, no chance about that," Kai said because he knew there was no way he’d date one of the ’Capture Targets’, besides he didn’t feel anything for Chloe anyway.

Kai, Kevin, and a few other boys from class 10-A walked out of the classroom and down the stairs toward the cafeteria.

The cafeteria atmosphere was really lively. Kai and his friends took trays and queued up, waiting for their turn. The staff mber on duty was none other than Reva. When it was Kai’s turn, Reva took his tray and gave him a few scoops of mashed potatoes.

"Ohh~ I’m surprised to see you eating with your friends."

"Yeah, I guess I rarely hang out with my classmates. I suppose I need so ti with the boys sotis."

"Hihihi~ fair enough. Here you go, dear~ eat up~"

Kai received his food and sat down at a table where Kevin was already there. They, the boys and him, ate and well, talked about so mundane boy things, this and that.

Kai listened and of course kept up with their conversation even though he was the new guy joining this circle of boys. Like many others say, guys make friends and socialize really easily. In less than a day, Kai had truly blended in with the boys in his class.

Today was a really good day until a loud voice, like a thunderclap in the sea of students in the cafeteria, rang out. All eyes naturally turned to the source of the sound.

At one table, there was a girl and a guy who seed to have a slight disagreent. Kai of course knew who the girl was. Daisy Marigold and her childhood friend, Caleb Leonard.

Seems like the commotion between the two happened because of a misunderstanding? Pretty classic, but truly a soap-opera-worthy sight to see drama unfolding in the cafeteria.

"Caleb, I-I didn’t an it like that. He and I don’t have a relationship, we’re just studying together later."

"If it’s a study group, I’ll co with you, Daisy. You know that guys are wolves in sheep’s clothing, and I’ll make sure you’re safe."

"Eh... but really, I just—"

"No, I’m coming and that’s final. We promised to always be together, right?"

"Ummm... y-yeah... we’ll always... be together."

The atmosphere in the cafeteria was a bit awkward after that lovesick guy acted so impulsively. Kai saw it all and went back to eating, Kevin and the others also continued eating.

"Did you hear that? He’s pretty crazy, right?"

"Yeah... but luckily he’s handso. Having a handso, possessive childhood friend really makes your heart flutter."

Girlie... are you really thinking with your brain? What’s good about having a childhood friend who’s a lunatic like that?

Kai spoke in his own ntal image after hearing the murmurs from the girls that sat on back of him. But co to think of it, Caleb’s behavior really is like that in the "Ga". He is the villain in Daisy’s route after all.

A childhood promise to always be together, that’s what Daisy agreed to regarding Caleb’s words, but it seems Caleb is truly quite insane even though he’s handso.

However, as "Kai", he certainly wouldn’t condemn Caleb’s behavior, because he himself isn’t much different or maybe even worse. Because at least, Caleb is possessive over a girl who isn’t related to him by a blood. He still firmly believes that "Kai" is a trash character, even though he isn’t acting like the Kai from the ga, but Caleb is truly acting like his original characterization.

Not my business right now... I’m still busy being friends with Chloe. Kai continued eating and chatting again with Kevin and his friends until lunch break was over before he returned to class.

School went by quickly as usual. Before he knew it, the dismissal bell rang. Kai got up from his seat, said goodbye to the boys in his class, and in the first-floor hallway next to the stairs, Chloe was already waiting for him. It seed the two of them would be hanging out again.

"Yahoo~"

"You’re fast as usual."

"Hmm, of course." She stretched her arms up before they walked together to leave the school building.

Exiting the school building, Chloe and Kai saw a commotion, and once again it was Daisy and Caleb. The two of them looked for the best spot to watch the drama unfold among the crowd of students.

"They were both making a ruckus earlier in the cafeteria too."

"Yeah, they really made a scene earlier," Kai said, his eyes still fixed on Caleb who was slightly tugging at Daisy’s hand.

No wonder Ren will take Daisy away from you, idiot, if you’re that possessive.

Kai felt a little annoyed seeing a guy act like that toward a girl. Not because he’s a simp or trying to act cool to earn a "good boy" label. But honestly, it’s just not a good look and it’s embarrassing from his point of view.

"Chloe... I have a request for you. Do sothing for ," Kai said in a serious tone, his sharp eyes watching Daisy and Caleb. "...I’ll pay you back later, so listen to what I say."
