---

The stone-skinned player looked shocked. His brows were furrowed, and his gaze was intense.

Beads of sweat poured down his forehead as he tapped the shoulder of his friend, who was currently on his knees.

"Hey... mphis. This army doesn’t seem weak. They are just ordinary beasts, right?" A pause ensued. The stone-skinned player’s body began to quiver as fear overtook him.

’No... mphis has fallen. His army is even stronger than mine, and he seems to be at a loss.’ He thought, glancing at Midas, ’This guy... we should have never ssed with him.’

"Wait!" The very stubby creature yelled, "S-stop! We forfeit! We promise to leave this zone to you!" He scread with desperation.

mphis seed to get a glint back in his eyes. He glanced at his short friend, who was pleading for their lives.

’Klein! Why are you trying to escape now? Just release your army! We still have a chance!’ mphis yelled inwardly.

The stone-skinned player, addressed as ’Klein,’ made eye contact with mphis and then slowly shook his head from side to side. His look was sincere, not sly.

mphis felt his heart sink into his stomach.

’He’s... saying that... even with his army, we stand no chance?’ mphis mused, horrified. But then, he realized that there was only one option left.

"Yes!" The horned man yelled, "We concede!"

Midas’s left eye twitched with irritation. He looked down at the two players with disdain in his expression.

Before he could speak, mphis attempted to soothe Midas’s rough outer exterior with kind words.

"Trust us! We will leave! And since this is the beginning of the ga, we don’t have any other flags on us either. Just let us go! We won’t bother you for the rest of the ga!" mphis yelled before placing his head on the floor.

Klein did the sa.

"How do I know you won’t impede my journey in the future?" Midas asked, his tone dominating and low.

"W-what?" mphis replied, confused, "I-I just told you! We won’t bother you for the rest of the ga! I swear it!"

"You see..." Midas instantly replied, "I could believe sothing like that. Not because I trust you, but because you are too weak to affect during the duration of this ga anyway. Your stats are weak, and your army is laughable." He paused.

’S-stats?’ mphis thought, unable to put Midas’s thoughts together.

’Laughable?’ Klein thought, gritting his teeth.

"However, when I asked you about standing in the way of my journey, I wasn’t talking about just this event alone. We are all in a much grander ga on this planet. As players, you two directly oppose . You are my enemies." Midas said, sending shivers down the backs of the two before him.

’Jeez... these two are bigger cowards than I had imagined.’ Midas thought to himself on seeing this.

"W-wait!" mphis sohow uttered, "D-do you just go around hunting players then!? How could that be sustainable?! I haven’t even heard of such a thing!"

In his mind, such a concept was foreign. Many players t each other early in their lives on Fell-Terra.

The concept of direct confrontation quickly lted away from people’s minds as they realized players are just people like them.

Sure, they were rivals, but that ant gaining control of their powers and eventually getting backing. They could climb the political ladder using their title and abilities, and eventually begin playing the ga!

However, Midas’s mindset was different. Since he had never seen other players, he naturally maintained the mindset that he was given at the start of the ga.

Kill or be killed. Survival of the fittest. Only one can stand above all.

"If I were around more players, I would hunt them without any question. Why wouldn’t you? In the future, you two will either grow to a power that surpasses , or beco stomped under my control." Midas said in a low tone before smirking in their faces, "But why would I give you two the chance to surpass ? Instead, let give you the option of total surrender under , the Player, Midas. Yes, or die. The choice is yours."

mphis’s expression widened codically. His mouth opened, his panting breaths slowly turning into laughs.

"Haha... hahaha!" He suddenly scread with laughter, "I’m a goner! I’m really a goner!" He said, half scared to death, half hysterical. He pulled at his own face with his hands as he stared at the sky.

"Pull yourself together!" Midas suddenly shouted sternly, "Don’t worry... You no longer need to stress because of such a decision." He walked forward slowly.

"H-huh?" mphis returned to a fairly normal state, a smile of hope beginning to show on his face, "Why? Why such rcy?" He grinned.

Midas’s expression was that of disgust.

"I made the decision for you. I know that I would never need such a pathetic mber within my legion." Midas said in a cold tone as his blades slashed forward in an X formation.

mphis’s head was sliced clean off his shoulders and dropped down next to Klein with a thud.

Midas glanced at Klein, who still looked to have so fight. He looked at Midas with an angry gaze, despite not making a move.

He knew that most likely, he was harmless to Midas. He was far too weak as he currently stood.

"Now you... You must co from a faraway land. What type of powers do they have on your planet, I wonder?" Midas said curiously, as if he were in his own living room.

The materialistic situation around him seed unable to alter his internal perception of reality, including thoughts and ideas...

"W-what the hell are you talking about!?" Klein suddenly erupted, "Thats it! I’ve had enough of this rubbish! You are a damn lunatic! If these are my only options left, I’ll end your life, or die trying!" He glanced back at mphis’s army.

The n looked confused, talking to each other with expressions of disbelief and perplexity.

"What are we to do now?"

"Our tenant has abandoned us."

"We have no one left to serve... how do we go ho?"

"Screw that! Who will pay us for this!?"

"We were promised gold!"

"Stop shouting! Let’s figure this out step by step."

Midas shook his head, ’Truly pathetic.’ This scene only further proved his previous judgnts.

"Kill them all." He then blankly stated.
