"If any of you have any experience whatsoever with cooking, you’ll find that there are many skills that translate from that over to Alchemy. If you know how to bake that’s even better because baking requires exact ratios compared to the generous nature of normal recipes. Does... anyone know how to bake..?"
Looking up from the cutting board and pausing for just a moment, our Professor looked around at everyone before lighting up when Sera tentatively raised her hand, smiling rather warmly as she immediately said "If you ever bake anything please bring some in for me~! I love cookies in particular~!"
I hid a smile and just focused on the Heartroot instead, waiting for her to resume so that I could see what she wanted to do with it; taking her knife and slowly sliding it through the crimson ’tube’, Professor Jezebyra began to methodically dice the root into small medallions.
When the entire root was turned into a cluster of medallions she swept them into a mortar and beginning to mash them up with the pestle, turning them from a firm yet ’bleeding’ medallion into a thick, goopy paste.
"This is the first step that needs to be done. Mash mash mash... all the way down into this paste. Make sure every single last bit is mashed up to ensure that the potency of the root is fully drawn out.
Afterwards you just need to move it over to a wide glass beaker and start pouring in a half cup of Bloodthistle Sap; use something to scrape all of the sap out and into the beaker, don’t ever leave anything behind. Every single drop of whatever you’re using is not only money that you had to spend, but it is money you are leaving on the table when you go to sell these things."
Showing us the result of what she had done, Professor Jezebyra held that half full beaker up before taking a long glass stirring rod, immediately beginning to whip the two together; as she did so she said "Give it a nice stir ten times so that they are beginning to blend together...
