Chapter 63: Lunch With Friends

Unlike the quiet and uneventful breakfast I had managed to secure for myself, the lunch I had was by far more hectic since there were dozens upon dozens of people in the dining hall, all chatting and laughing together as they went over their schedules to see who might be with them going forwards.

My ’hopes’ of another quick and uneventful meal was dashed as two familiar faces sat down opposite me; Kha’Miero and Sera were joining me for lunch, and almost immediately the atmosphere felt heavier and warmer as the memories of last night flooded me.

"How many classes do you have, Natalie?"

Kha’Miero’s question was seemingly done in passing as she just began to consume enough food for an average’s persons entire daily intake, her attention completely locked on the plate and barely on anything else.

"Oh, I have five... Civilization and Society, Physical Combat, Magical Theory, Alchemy and then Enchanting to end the day. Like I told you before, I wide breadth of classes going over... well, pretty much everything."

"Not ’everything’, just rather... broad classes. Not that it’s a bad thing, of course, but there are a few other classes. Classes dedicated to the elements, Magical Combat, all of the Arts and then the various studies relating to monsters, the Dungeons, specific periods of time and so much more."

Where Kha’Miero remained quiet and just filled her bottomless belly slowly but surely, Sera picked at the thick steak as she corrected me on the loose use of ’everything’, though she did just shrug and say "Though technically speaking you are taking a class in most major places of study, save the Arts. Although I am certain you can argue Alchemy or Enchanting falls under the umbrella of ’magical art’."

Finally deciding which piece of her steak was adequate for her current needs, Sera began to slowly carve that piece off as she just stared at me, watching as I mulled over her words before we both glanced at Kha’Miero as the Draconian chimed in again.

"Well, you have a fair amount of classes compared to me. I have three; Draconian History and Traditions, Physical Combat and Military Studies. Do you have... I believe her name was Bo’Katari, for Physical Combat?"

Upon getting a nod Kha’Miero nodded back and said "That’s good. We can help one another... unwind after class.
