I received a letter from Alfred.

According to Loo’s translation, he said he was given an uninhabited island and is currently developing it with his companions.

Oh, that sounds like fun.

I’ll write back and tell him to do his best.

Still, what exactly happened for him to be given an entire uninhabited island?

I’d like him to write more details about that part.

Because Loo and Flora are getting worried, saying he might’ve been isolated or sothing.

Also, whatever happened to the plan of opening a store?

I have not received any letters fromTiselle.

Back when she was attending the academy, she used to send letters fairly regularly.

Apparently because Asa and Earth kept nagging her to write.

And they even edited her drafts, it seems.

I see…

Looks like Asa and Earth really went through a lot.

And maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to separate Tiselle from them.

I’m getting a little worried.

As for Urza…

What is this?

She is sending updates, but they’re more like rcenary unit activity reports.

She writes about who she beca friends with and where, but the “friends” she lists aren’t their personal nas but their organization titles.

She also ntions that Asa and Earth are doing great as squad leaders and asks to praise them…

Is that her way of asking sweetly for a favor?

Also, I feel like Beezel, Yuri, and the Demon King are getting more letters from her than I am.

I want to believe that’s just my imagination.

For the upcoming winter test firing, Yoru has apparently been staying up night after night making ammunition.

Klim, who lives with Yoru, asked to tell her to sleep at night.

It seems Yoru doesn’t listen even when Klim tells her.

Well, she does listen, at least at first, but once Klim falls asleep, Yoru gets up and starts making ammo again.

I threatened her that if it gets too bad, we won’t proceed with the test firing.

I’m thinking of leaving the final decision about whether to go through with the test to Klim.

As for the trip to the abandoned mine where feather magic crystals are said to be located in order to recover pilot suits, and search for the main body and parts of Multipurpose Humanoid Mobile Heavy Machine (Arti-Horse)…

These things aren’t essential, and there’s no need to rush.

When it cos to the pilot suits, Zabuton and the others will be hibernating soon.

It can wait until spring.

And as for the Arti-Horse, we’re already overwheld with what we have on hand.

The mountain elves are busy with the airship project too.

Even if we go searching, there’s no guarantee we’ll find anything,

And if we do happen to find sothing, that might just make things harder.

I can’t afford to make unreasonable demands.

「Please let us go!」

「The more samples, the better!」

「We’ll make it happen no matter what!」

The mountain elves are fired up, but that’s exactly why those around them need to keep a close eye.

In winter, slis freeze, so I’ve been telling them to stay indoors.

But slis are, at their core, free-spirited creatures.

Many of them don’t listen obediently.

So, as a counterasure, I tried giving them Hot Stones.

…..

Didn’t work.

They digested them.

I was pretty disheartened but after a while, a strangely evolved sli appeared.

A Hot Sli.

Compared to other slis, it’s slightly warm when touched.

Would this keep it from freezing?

But the warmth isn’t quite enough to thaw frozen slis… Wait, it can heat up?

I asked it to help any frozen slis it finds.

So, a sli that had been given a hot stone beca a Hot Sli.

That got wondering, what would happen if I gave a sli a feather magic crystal?

I tried a little experint.

After digesting a feather magic crystal about the size of a large bundle, the sli began to change slightly.

Its jumping ability far exceeded that of other slis.

And its falling speed was slower.

A Feather Sli.

Very fantasy-esque, but is there any situation where it could actually be useful?

I an, all it really does is flutter around.

Still, Loo says that for these kinds of changes, the sli’s own will is what truly matters.

Take the Wine Sli, for example.

Just feeding alcohol to a sli doesn’t automatically turn it into a Wine Sli.

The sli has to want to beco one.

So even if I was the trigger, the Feather Sli only beca a Feather Sli because it chose to.

Well, that doesn’t necessarily an it’ll be useful.

But as long as it lives freely, I’m happy.

The kids seem to love it, oddly enough.

I’ve given Youko a break.

That’s why I’ll do my best.

But I can’t possibly fill in for her alone, so I’ll need help.

As candidates for that help, Malbit suggested a few angels with ability but nothing to do…

However, it seems those very angels found out they were being considered and are now pushing back.

Not verbally, though.

They’re resisting through action.

They’re claiming they are doing sothing.

Since morning, they’ve been slow-roasting a large chunk of wild boar at over a fire.

Why?

Well, it does sll delicious.

Still, since you can do that, why don’t you do other things?

Ah, I see, this doesn’t count as “work” in their minds.

They must’ve thought long and hard about what they could do that still falls under “just barely playing” rather than “working”, and landed on roasting.

I suppose that makes sense.

They can’t just leave it on the fire unattended, and if they don’t turn it over regularly, it’ll burn.

A delicious roast takes ti and effort.

I appreciate it.

Right, I’ll report to Malbit that they’re doing sothing after all.

Though… there’s a problem with the amount.

Yeah, the sll wafted through the air since morning, and now all of the kuros have gathered around.

Ann and the others are hoping it’ll be part of tonight’s dinner too.

I’m not going to stop you from roasting, but could I ask for two or three more boars?

Don’t worry.

I’ll do the hunting.

If we start roasting the extra at now, will it be ready by tomorrow?

Got it.

I’ll tell the kuros they’ll have to wait until tomorrow.

The roast boar served at dinner tonight was incredibly tasty.

You could really feel the angel’s attention to detail in every bite.

The children were overjoyed, so I hope they do it again soti.

Oh, they’re still roasting the extra at even now?

Well… keep up the good work.
