[OP: ]
"Chry."
"Miss hardworking Quin."
"Don't make fun of like them."
She sat down beside him, and without minding the closeness, he looked at her.
"Oh? Am I not allowed to make fun of you?"
"You aren't. Besides, do sothing original.
All of them are calling 'Miss Hardworking Quin' nowadays. Even Anna was calling that yesterday."
They were in the garden, looking at the rest of them playing a ga of Blazeball: a unique ga where you infuse a round ball with spells or Mana or Aura and throw them at soone standing before you.
That person would hit the ball with a strange bat that resembled nothing like the bats that various kinds of creatures use.
It was round, and small. It was also enchanted with many spells or was made from a unique tal and was engraved with enchantnts or runes.
It was a bat made specifically for this ga, and though dangerous, they all knew how to make it safe enough to include even Anna with them.
"Haha, so, if all of them call you that, why am I not allowed to call you with that Mighty na?"
Chry wasn't playing with them since the teams were already divided by the ti he ca here.
He was the much needed audience, and he did not mind that. He knew Quin would be late and was waiting for her since the start anyway.
"No, you aren't."
She looked at him with squinted eyes for a mont, and then went back to watching Anna standing with three of her Povpoi friends.
She was in the batting team so she was on standby with her Lizardman uncle, her two aunts, and her dad.
"You're my 'friend' so you aren't supposed to call that."
Eon was batting right now while Rein was the pitcher.
Carla was the catcher, and their team included so strong players.
The infielders were an issue, but even Eon was not strong enough to deal with all of Elle's throws.
"Oh? Being friends a bad thing? Aren't all of them your friends as well?"
He might have the best eyes and the most amazing senses, but he was against their grandfather, the Knight King, as well as Taika, who could practically catch any hit anywhere in the field.
His team was weak, but they were not going to set a bad chasing score for them.
"They are different…"
Including the two of them, Nol, Theo, and Elkin were also in the audience. But they were sitting a little to the other side, leaving the two 'friends' alone.
"You know how complicated things are when it cos to them, right? With you…"
Quin looked at him with a simple smile once again.
"Things are much simpler."
Friends.
Just friends.
That was all their relationship was called… for now.
There were a lot of things that she needed to do. Taking over her grandfather's position, revealing her existence to the rest of the world, stabilising everything and growing what her grandfather had left behind for her, and only after doing that… will she be able to truly retire as an adventurer and have ti for Other kinds of things.
"Simple… yes. It's simple when it's you as well, Quin."
He was the sa.
She was the only person he had felt sothing like this for… so, he knew she was the only person he could call his close friend.
He wasn't dense enough to misinterpret what he was feeling. He just had his priorities.
He had to kill a few bastards that destroyed everything he had, take down a power that was unfathomable to him at the mont, and deal with a few people that took away everything he used to have.
His master, the only person that he served, knew what his goal was.
And until he achieved that goal, he was not allowed to have any passion other than his sword.
"Yes. So~."
Things were simple for them. Everything is going well for now, and it would be better if it goes on like this until they achieve their individual goals as well.
They would be free after that, so… they can think about other things, if there was anything left till then, at that ti.
"Are you done packing?"
"Yeah… just a few little things left."
They were going back to the academy tomorrow morning, so, this was their last day in the Heliox house.
"Want to help you with anything?"
"That would be nice, yes."
The ti they spend here, the ti he spent seeing her do all the housework and the ti she saw him training vigorously in the Heliox house this ti was a little different from the last ti she was here.
She wasn't invited by Axion Heliox Krot to stay with them this ti, she was simply here at her friend's house for her vacation. The house belonged to Zoe, Carla, Alf… as well as her first and closest friends Uriel and Lucifer.
She knew their truth now and she knew who they were. There were a lot of questions that she still wanted the answers to, but at the very least, she knew who they were and what they were doing when they were not in the academy or were 'working' in so unreachable place.
-Tak!
"And there goes the blazing ball…"
"I've got it!"
"And there goes Miss Taika."
The blazing ball that was infused with more than a dozen spells, her witch powers, her origin powers as well as her Aura was specially created by Eon to handle this kind of ga.
They were too strong so using the normal Blazeballs here would be ineffective.
They couldn't even handle Carla's Aura so there was no way those normal things that were used in the gas at the academy would work for them.
"Taika!" Enjoy more content from empire
-Swish!
"Got it! Father, catch!"
It had been a while since she started calling Sir Zahavi 'father' so everyone was now familiar with it by now.
But still, it was still quite unreal to see her chase after a ball that was flying at a speed that normal eyes could not even perceive and even catch it with her paw-like hands.
"Good one! Elle!"
"Throw it to the other side! He will finish the run!"
She was amazing. Her speed, her agility, the way she jumped so high with so little effort… Nolan couldn't help but cheer for them with amazent when the ga was so amazing.
"My lord! Here!"
Even grandpa Zhen was on her side. The competition was surely quite unfair.
"Lucifer's team might lose this one…"
"You weren't here when he was complaining about the unfair team selection, haha.
He was quite genuinely cursing at Miss Elle openly before the rest of them.
Lady Nolan even scolded him."
They were quite a unique bunch when they were here as well. Academy was not the only place they acted uniquely.
"Hahaha~. I can already see how that might have happened~."
Anna was on his team and Anna wouldn't play without Zoe. The Povpoi that were with her were also counted as players, so they weren't going to play without Anna.
He needed Sir Zuroro so aside from him, after getting only Sir l, his two aunts, Zoe, Alf, and a bunch of more Povpoi, the team distribution was obviously not right.
But they could only play with Anna when she was on his team. That was by default how they played most of the gas while maintaining this kind of intensity.
"Seems like I missed so fun monts."
"You sure did, Miss hardworking Quin."
"Hey!"
She hit him on the back as soon as he did it again… but his back was so hard that she ended up hurting herself instead.
"Aww, ouch ouch ouch!"
She grabbed her hand with her other hand and started shouting at him with a new enraged expression.
"Why are you so hard…!"
In the background, Nolan ended up chuckling when she heard that unexpected scream.
"Are you a rock?!"
Then the rest of them started laughing as well when they heard that second scream.
"Gosh Chry!"
"You did it to yourself. Don't scream at , Miss hardworking-."
-Slap!
This ti, she did not aim his back, or legs, or arm, or his dumb heard head.
She slapped him on his face right when he was going to call her 'hardworking' once again.
She had seen how hard he worked, how he swung his sword day and night, how he skipped on sleep sotis just so he could practise a little more… it was unhealthy, she knew that and she had scolded him a few tis for that already, but if he doesn't even listen to her, it just proved who the real hard worker was.
When others called her a hardworking person, she took it as a complint. Even Anna saying it was cute to her.
But when he said it, it was the sa as making fun of his own hard work.
She did not like it.
He was working for sothing he wanted to achieve and she found it the most admirable aspect of his.
"That hurt!"
"You should stop being so hard then!"
In the background, they both heard another loud chuckle, but they ignored it again.
"How can I stop it?! It's not in my hands?!"
This ti, the laugh was louder.
"Of course it is in your hands! Just stop using them and you will soften up!"
"Hahahaha!"
Nolan just couldn't hold herself back anymore. They were being a little too much now.
But they ignored it as well.
"Are you telling to stop training, Miss hardworking Quin?!"
"Do you want another slap?!"
They were arguing with one another, the others were playing, And watching all of this, Anna was sliming while hugging her Mr. Rice.
She knew they would all be gone tomorrow and the house would beco quiet once again, but she was still smiling.
She was happy.
When all of them were here, together, like this, it just made her happy.
She didn't care about them leaving anymore, she knew they were going to co back soon anyway, and they also had their sister Jen's engagent.
They would be together there as well.
To her… to soone who had been a little too attached to all of them until now, their departure had beco a familiar thing now.
She was fine with them leaving.
She knew she would cry when they were going back, but other than that, she knew there would be sothing new for her to look forward to.
"Hehehe, is it my turn now~?"
She was happy right now so at this mont at least, she wanted to stay happy.
Aside from them and this ga, nothing much, not their departure and not their future absence mattered to the girl that had always felt lonely without even one of them around.
{ "It seems like it Is your turn, Miss Anna." }
"Yei~!"
She was learning sothing that was common in the grown ups… and, sowhere in their hearts, the rest of them could see that as well.
