"I've not stopped him! I've never stopped him from going anywhere! He did not want the life of a prince so I let him go! I let him go into the world and do what he loved! I was happy for him! Every ti he did sothing incredible, every ti we spoke, every ti he wrote to …
You know how happy I am every ti it's about him, don't you? Then, shouldn't he at least have told us about it?! Don't we at least deserve to know what my child has been up to?!"
She was old and mature enough to understand what goes on in the head of her child. She knew him the best just like how she knew Claud, her other son.
She cared about both of her boys trendously. There was never a mont she would resent them for what they were doing, or be angry at the paths that they had chosen.
She was always there for them. She looked after them when she needed to and she gave them the freedom that they desired.
She let the elder one go when he had proven to her what he desired was genuine and sothing he wanted to do from his heart.
He beca one of the greatest adventurers in history in a re few years and created a party that consisted of people who were relatively unknown to the world until they joined him.
He beca a leader that she had always wanted him to be, he achieved more than what he could have by being tied up in the empire and the throne, she was proud of him, she had always been proud of her dear son.
And yet…
"Vera, we understand you're upset but think about it. Would you let him go even when you knew he might never co back?
It's a forbidden zone so you would understand it the best, right? Would you let him go despite knowing just how dangerous it is?"
As the advisor to the throne, she was soone who had always known about the importance of having influence.
She knew just how much her son liked the world and the unknowns of the world. If she had restricted him from doing what he loved, she would have done sothing inappropriate for not just her child but for the throne as well.
She was preparing him for sothing greater. By helping him on each turn of his life, by being his advisor just like how she was the advisor to the throne, she was doing what a mother should and what the direct aide to the throne must.
He was a great prospect that was bound to lead the world at so point, he had already laid foundations for sothing great and when the ti ca, she knew he was going to lead the people of the empire just like how he was leading the party that he had assembled.
But that was not going to be possible if he was stuck in the forbidden zone! In the great forest nonetheless!
"I would never let him go to that place! I would never!! How could I do that, d? Would you send your children to those places?! No! I know you wouldn't! No mother would send their child away to the death's door!
It's not even an adventure at this point! Even if he sohow survives in that hell, he might never get to co out from that place!
That dumb child should have known that already!"
Empress Vera was in agony right now.
They had just received the news that her child had gone into the forbidden forest and it had shaken her badly.
She was not in her best state right now so Empress Madeleine and Empress Aina were looking after her.
She was a witch so the power that she was exuding right now, her powerful winds that could harm even the powerful knights were not sothing just anyone could handle.
But the two of them knew how to take care of their sister. They looked after her until she cald down and talked to her about her child.
Both of them reminded her how she was the one who allowed him to go down this path and how she wanted him to be happy at all paths of his life.
She had prepared for the worst right when she allowed him to be an adventurer. She knew it was always going to be difficult.
Prince Charles had always played with death. He had always survived even the worst of the situations.
He had faced death many tis and yet be it the tomb of the fallen kings, or the dead cetery of the dark waters, he had survived against opponents that even they might not stand a chance against.
He was not the strongest in the empire, much less in the world, but he had a team that knew how to work together and a mind that knew how to get out of death's embrace.
He was a troubleso child from the start, but he was not dumb. The people in his party were also not foolish enough to follow him on a suicide mission. They were smart as well, one of them was also one of the smartest people currently living in this world.
If that person allowed this, then even they had to consider the possibility that there was so chance that they would co back from that adventure.
"They are people of free spirits, just like you once were, Vera." Empress Aina was trying to console her in a way that might be effective while empress d was trying to convince her that there was still so possibility that this was all just another one of his calculated plans.
"He's not a dumb kid, Vera. Trust him!"
As the eldest and perhaps the most talented of his siblings, Prince Charlse was soone that possessed a unique personality that wasn't interested in the life of nobility.
He was a royal of Roxanna, and yet he was not interested in the royal privileges or customs. He could do anything that any prince of the world could, and he could do so of those things much better than them.
And yet he chose to beco an adventurer that faces death, who faces challenges that a royal had no need to face. He was a free spirit that liked doing things his own way.
Anywhere he went, he helped people in need and did things that not all adventurers did for the common people.
By living within them, he helped them in ways that he could not as a prince. There was a ti when his na was spoken among the citizens of Roxanna as well as other parts of the world as if he was soone more important than the nobles.
He had contributed greatly to the advancent of humanity.
His younger brother, Claudius, was the opposite of him.
He wanted to support the nation by climbing the social ranks and becoming soone worthy of the throne.
Currently, he was in the academy and was preparing himself for the ti when he would need to step up as the new hair to the throne.
Since his other brother, prince Alpheus had no interest in the noble title, much less the world of politics and the political gas, he needed to beco capable enough to be worthy of the throne.
It was up to him to lead Roxanna to the greater heights when his ti arrived, however there was still so ti left for that. He knew that, and so he was getting better.
He had a goal– he had lost to that person in terms of love, as well as popularity and strength– but he was chasing after that person.
His big brother might be soone famous and a lot more capable, but prince Claud had his goals and he was going to surpass him so that he could also surpass his brother, and later his father, the absolute master of the Roxanian throne.
The eldest of the princesses, princess Julietta was a world-famous artist already. She had chosen a path similar to Prince Charles that was not interested in the world of the nobles and royals, but unlike him, she was closely connected to everything that happened in high society.
She was a pillar of nobility even though she wasn't as involved with the matters of it as many other noble ladies, but she was not interested in ruling over anyone.
She had taken the path of an artist, so she was going to follow that path until she achieved a certain 'goal' that no one around her was aware of.
The children of Empress Aina, on the other hand, were different from the rest of them.
While Princess Isabella had not yet found a path of her own, she had so much potential that she might even overshadow her other siblings.
If she gains enough motivation to access that potential, she could achieve great things. However, all three of the empresses knew she would choose a different path from her siblings as well.
Just like how the youngest of them all, Princess Sophie was destined for the greatest of the achievents, the rest of them also had their own callings.
"Vera, please calm down."
As a mother, all three of them were worried about their children. But it was going to be like this for a while now.
The children were growing up and they were going to go away one day. It was their destiny, and as the mothers, even though it was extrely painful, they must accept it.
They must accept the fact that their children were a fleeting gust of wind that was, for certain, going to et the winds at the great sea of life…
