Roo hadn’t slept.

He sat by Helena’s bedside and had to be convinced to leave to change clothes and take a shower.

Neil had to co over with his clothes and so docunts he had to go over.

In the past five years, the managent of all Blackmoon businesses had shifted to him from his father.

He was the CEO of Blackmoon Group, the company that funded the pack.

"You’ll work from here?" Neil asked as he handed Roo another docunt to sign.

"I can’t leave her," he said as he looked at Helena. "Did I tell you she just agreed to be my girlfriend, to be in a public relationship with ."

Neil smiled and shook his head.

"No, you hadn’t ntioned it," Neil said as he stood next Roo. "She’ll wake up, Roo."

"I know she will, I just hope she wakes up soon," Roo sighed. "I’d hate to be stuck here for the Blood Moon and be the only one to feel the bond."

Neil smiled at him an nodded.

"Have you tried asking Ryder to reach out to Hera?" Neil asked. "I’ve heard that wolves can sotis reach out to their mates even when they’re humans are unconscious."

"We aren’t mated yet," Roo sighed.

"When has that ever stopped you?" Neil chuckled. "Anyway, I’ll give you so space and set up your office here."

Roo had earlier planned to continue using the Red River Pack house.

It would mainly function as a space for the pack, but he would split his ti between the pack house where they lived with this one.

So mbers of the old Red River pack had also expressed interest in moving to the other side of the territory.

The shift was in full swing while Roo felt like he was stuck in ti.

’Have you tried talking to Hera?’ Roo asked as he reached out to Ryder.

’No, but I can sense her,’ Ryder answered.

’Can you try?’ Roo asked his wolf.

’I will,’ Ryder said as Roo felt his wolf’s presence strengthen.

He couldn’t hear what Ryder and Hera were talking about, but he could feel the mont Ryder found her.

It was like they had found a light and managed to connect.

He felt lighter and happier.

Roo wondered if that was what it felt like to be bound to your fated.

He held Helena’s hand as he waited for his wolf to turn his attention to him.

Roo felt his eyes get heavy as he leaned forward and eventually fell asleep.

He dreamt of Helena and of their future together.

A peaceful pack with their own pups.

If Helena allowed him, he wanted to have at least four children. He didn’t want their kids to be lonely plus they had a large pack, they needed more heirs to keep it maintained.

Roo woke up with a start.

’You spoke with her?’ he asked Ryder as his wolf returned to him.

’I did,’ Ryder simply answered.

’And?’ Roo pushed.

’They are well,’ Ryder said, annoying Roo.

’That’s it? Didn’t you ask why they aren’t awake yet?’ Roo asked.

He was tired and frustrated.

His mate was unconscious, and he didn’t understand why.

’They are still healing,’ Ryder answered.

Roo nodded.

’Hera said Helena would want you to see to the pack, not to waste away by her side,’ Ryder inford him. He clearly hesitated in passing on the ssage, but like Roo, Ryder would not be able to refuse their mate.

’I’m not wasting away,’ Roo argued.

’We haven’t eaten. We have two packs depending on us now,’ Ryder argued.

’You want to leave our mate?’ Roo asked.

’Of course I don’t,’ Ryder growled back. ’But it’s what they want.’

Roo sighed.

He didn’t answer his wolf.

He knew Ryder and Helena were right. He had to work, he had to make sure that the packs were properly integrated but he had planned to do all that with his future Luna by his side.

"Fuck, fine," Roo hissed as he stood up.

He looked at a sleeping Helena who looked so peaceful.

Leaning forward, Roo kissed her forehead and then kissed her lips.

"Wake up soon, love. I already miss you," he told her before letting out a breath and finally leaving.

Roo reached out to his stepmother, asking her to stay by Helena’s side. He even asked if she could ask Rae and Rebecca to co to keep her company.

Of course, Luna Alyssa was more than willing, she’d only been keeping her distance because she felt that Roo preferred to be with Helena alone.

He thanked his Stepmother while he made his way to the pack house where he knew he had business to attend to.

When Neil, Kade, and Daniel saw him walking into the pack house, all three n were shocked.

"What are you doing here?" Neil asked.

"She wants to be here," Roo simply shrugged.

"She’ll wake up before the Rite, I’m sure of it," Kade said as he patted Roo on the back.

"I asked Mom to keep her company," he inford the n before sitting at the head of the table. "Okay, give work."

Neil nodded as he tossed a pile of docunts to Roo, and the four n began discussing how the integration was to happen.

When the sun had finally set, Roo dismissed his Betas and Gamma while he made his way back to the hospital.

He had dinner with his stepmother and sisters and slept next to Helena with his arms wrapped around her.

When he woke up, he talked to her, asking her to wake up again before leaving to go to the pack house.

He’d been working with Neil on finance for hours when a frantic Rae burst through the door.

"What is it? What’s wrong?" Roo asked as he stood from his seat, almost knocking over the table.

"She’s up," Rae gasped. "She’s awake. Helena’s awake."

Rae smiled as Roo barrelled past her, all that mattered to him now was getting to Helena.
