’She wants us,’ Ryder said to Roo as he looked at himself in the mirror.

’Let’s just make sure not to scare her away,’ Roo chuckled, warning his wolf.

Roo knew the intense feelings both he and Ryder felt toward Helena and her wolf Hera.

They’d always had the drive to care and protect her, but now that they’d grown up, it was different. There was sothing more.

He couldn’t imagine a day without Helena.

When Roo finally stepped out of his room, he was disappointed to find that Helena had already left.

’Why are you so horny that I had to storke one out in the shower again,’ Roo grumbled annoyed by his own sexual urges due to Helena.

’Sure, bla ,’ Ryder scoffed.

When Roo finally arrived in the Dinning Hall, he was greeted by the many wolves that had co to visit.

While this was all happening, he could hear Helena’s gentle laughter along with a few other won.

’She made friends,’ he chuckled, telling his wolf.

’At least it’s she-wolves,’ Ryder comnted.

’You’re even more possessive than I am,’ Roo pointed out to his wolf.

Ryder ignored him as he settled, knowing that Helena wasn’t spending ti with male wolves.

Roo trusted Helena. They weren’t in a relationship anyway, but it was the male wolves that he didn’t trust.

Helena was gorgeous and quite a catch, as Kade had repeatedly said. Any man would be lucky if she chose to be with him.

"We need to talk," Neil whispered as he glanced at Kade, who was watching Helena.

Roo nodded in response and excused himself, walking away to a more secluded part of the banquet hall.

He glared at Kade who continued to watch Helena’s every move.

If there weren’t any guests he would have attacked his soon to be Gamma for the way he watched the future Luna.

"Is he making a move on my mate?" Roo asked as he let out a growl.

Neil followed Roo’s loaded gaze and sighed.

"No, no one is trying to take Helena from you," Neil told Roo. "If anything, they are either too afraid of you or afraid of her."

"So what’s wrong?" Roo asked.

"Sara caused a scene again," Neil inford Roo.

Ryder took control for a quick mont and let out a deep growl.

"Helena handled it, but she asked us to throw Sara out," Neil reported.

"It’s good you stayed close to her," Roo said as she gave his Beta a pleased smile.

"She didn’t need ," Neil shrugged. "But do you have any instructions on dealing with Sara?"

Roo remained silent for a while as he considered his options.

The fact that Neil was asking him ant that his father had given the go signal for Roo to deal with Sara as he saw fit.

The problem with Sara was that she hadn’t exactly done anything dangerous yet. But it was that yet that made Roo nervous.

There was also the matter of dealing with her family.

While Roo and his father prided themselves in treating all their pack mbers equally, Sara’s family was a family of warriors. They were important, especially now when there were unknown threats to the packs.

"Put her in a holding cell," Roo declared. "Then tomorrow we’ll go for a visit and talk to her family. I’m sure she’ll change her tune after the Blood Moon Ball."

Neil nodded.

"By the way, what’s Kade doing watching Helena like that?" Roo asked.

"He’s going to be your Gamma," Neil said as a matter of factly as if Roo was supposed to understand what that ant.

"And so?" Roo asked Neil.

Neil rolled his eyes and sighed.

"You go stupid for Helena, and that’s a bad thing," Neil teased.

"I do not," Roo argued.

"You vanished that night in the bar when you slept with her," Neil chuckled. "She could have drugged you."

"I did not—" Roo growled.

"We know you did," Neil laughed even louder. "One mont you’re crazy about a woman you slept with, a woman you thought was your mate, and then the next mont you’ve forgotten about her."

"I never said—" Roo tried to argue.

"Roo, we know you," Neil teased. "It was her right, the woman at the bar."

Roo nodded slowly, confirming that he’d been with Helena that night.

"Happy for you, man, anyway, you’ve forgotten that a Gamma’s first duty is to protect his Luna," Neil reminded Roo.

Roo felt stupid for forgetting that and letting his jealousy take over.

"He’s watching her for you, but once you’re around he’ll go find a she-wolf to fuck," Roo and Neil both laughed.

Roo looked at Helena, and his heart lted at the sight of her arguing playfully with other she-wolves.

He couldn’t help but wonder how lonely it had been for her to be on the road as the ambassador for so many years.

"Is that all you wanted to talk to about?" Roo asked as he kept his eyes glued on Helena.

"Yeah, go get our Luna," Neil said as he patted Roo’s shoulder.

Roo found himself moving toward Helena, drawn to her like a moth to a fla.

When he was close enough, he caught bits and pieces of their conversation.

"Washes often get heated," a she-wolf giggled. "It often ends in—"

Washes? Like the ritual bath he and Helena were supposed to take before his Alpha Rite.

If he wasn’t mistaken, the she-wolf speaking was one of the girls that had harrassed him when they arrived.

"Do not finish that sentence," Rae scolded.

Roo held back a laugh. Oh, it was definitely the Ritual bath. He’d heard how so Alphas were conceived during that bath.

"Anything else you’ve been hiding from about the Rite?" Helena asked as she glared at Rae.

Roo smiled as he watched Helena with the girls.

"There’s more?!" Helena asked, raising her voice, to which she was greeted by another bout of laugher.

Roo decided to put her out of her misery.

He walked up behind Helena and drapped an arm around her shoulder.

"There you are," He greeted her, kissing her on the cheek, making her blush.

"Oh, they’re definitely mates," he heard soone comnt, making him smile.

He liked this group of she-wolves, that was for sure.
