Sitting atop the Warlord Titan, Zhang Ge recalled that joke:

Here's an old man on horseback wielding a sword, and here's a shard of a Star God traversing the cosmos. Who would win? .jpg

Zhang Ge felt that what had just happened to him was no less absurd than the forr actually defeating the latter.

But upon closer thought, stuffing souls into machines wasn't entirely unprecedented in this world... What was it again?

Wait, it ca to him.

Wasn't that the technology used to stuff the Necrontyr into the Necrons? But wasn't that provided by the Star Gods? Even if Ascalon had any connection, it would be to the one on the Golden Throne, not the Star Gods. What did it have to do with them?

Thinking this, Zhang Ge spoke to the Warlord Titan:

"Do you feel any discomfort?"

The voice still echoed in Zhang Ge's mind:

"Discomfort? No... Well, not exactly. It's just a bit unfamiliar, that's all."

That shouldn't be the case. That kind of transformation ca at the cost of life energy and the soul. She had just died, and her soul didn't seem to be gone either.

Though he didn't know what losing those two things felt like, judging by the Necrons' less-than-friendly attitude toward the Star Gods, it definitely wouldn't be a pleasant experience.

Or perhaps the Star Gods could have perford the implantation painlessly and without cost, but deliberately provided a flawed thod just to feast on the Necrontyr's essence?

At this thought, Zhang Ge's mind circled back to the initial joke.

What if, just what if, Ascalon was the "old man on horseback wielding a sword"?

And the sword he held at the ti, the so-called dragon-slaying sword, had slain the Star God known as the Void Dragon.

Then a portion of its authority naturally ca to reside in the sword, and after millennia of worship, it was infused into the concept of the "Machine God."

At this realization, Zhang Ge suddenly laughed in relief.

If he was going to believe sothing so absurd, why not just assu it was a machine spirit injection rod disguised as a sword?

The more pressing issue at hand was that, despite constantly diving into dangerous situations, he seed to be drifting further away from his original goal. If there was a trap, it should at least do sothing useful!

Now, how was he supposed to die normally under the cover of a Warlord Titan? Lead her to fight the Chaos Titan Legion?

Could he use the excuse of fearing chanicus investigation to leave her outside? Impossible. A Titan of this level, with a displeased machine spirit, would have the local chanicus overseer not only refrain from opening it for inspection but also start kowtowing from a hundred ters away.

Exhausted, he just wanted everything to end.

ntally and physically drained, Zhang Ge decided to give up for the mont and asked:

"I forgot to ask, what's your na?"

The girl's voice hesitated for a mont:

"Hmm... I'd rather not ntion the na they gave . Could you please give a new one?"

"Olivia, that's it."

Zhang Ge, feeling exhausted, gave her a na with a peaceful connotation.

At that mont, Amilia, who was standing nearby, couldn't contain her curiosity and asked:

"Are you... talking to the machine spirit?"

After a mont of thought, considering that Amilia hadn't shown any reaction to Ascalon even after receiving her blessing, Zhang Ge replied:

"I'm not sure if it's the machine spirit. It seems like this sword has sohow integrated the girl's soul—or sothing else—into this massive thing, rging the two into one."

"In that case, make sure not to reveal this in front of the chanicus, or it could cause trouble."

Zhang Ge sighed inwardly, thinking, I'd like to reveal it, but wouldn't that be asking for trouble?

He didn't dwell on the topic and instead asked:

"I've been aning to ask, is there really nothing wrong with this sword we got from the Greater Daemon?"

If your answer even hints at a problem, I'm handing this sword over to you.

Zhang Ge was genuinely worried that this thing might cause him even more trouble later.

However, Amilia's response only deepened his already sinking mood:

"Although I'm not sure what that Warp entity's intentions were, this sword is completely free of any issues. Even if it were inspected by a living... mber of the Ecclesiarchy from Terra, the result would be the sa. Don't worry."

Seeing Zhang Ge's expression, Amilia thought he was concerned about the Inquisition and added:

"You don't need to worry about the Inquisitor."

Don't even ntion the Inquisitor; you're really bringing up the wrong topic. We don't even know if the Commissar and Father Ryder made it to the communication station alive, let alone when the Inquisition will arrive.

Zhang Ge decided not to continue the conversation and instead looked down at Dominica and Burton, who were gradually becoming visible as the Titan's steps advanced.

"Olivia, let us down."

The Titan knelt down again, and anything in the path of this motion was ruthlessly crushed.

When the cannon barrel once again touched the ground, the two descended from above and joined Dominica and the others.

Seeing their intense curiosity, Zhang Ge couldn't be bothered to explain and simply said, "They're allies. Don't ask why. Just consider it the Emperor's blessing."

Although Burton clearly looked like he was forcing down his questions, Dominica nodded in agreent, her expression saying, "Ah, so the Emperor conjured a Titan out of thin air and threw it here from afar. That's the most reasonable explanation, and I completely believe it."

Of course, there was no chance of any attacks during the journey to the parking area. Seeing a Titan passing by, any living creatures within several kiloters would have wished they had ten legs to run away.

To Zhang Ge's surprise, when the four of them arrived at the parking spot, there were two additional trucks there. The PDF hadn't run away?

The trucks belonged to the PDF who had just arrived after breaking through the holographic projection. They had seen a beam of light streak across the sky.

To Zhang Ge's surprise, after the four of them arrived at the parking spot, there were two additional trucks there. Had the PDFs not fled?

The trucks naturally belonged to the PDFs who had arrived later. They had just broken through the holographic projection when they saw a beam of light streak across the sky.

In the silence, recalling whether the four who had entered earlier had carried weapons of such large size, the twenty or so PDF mbers ard only with laser guns quickly considered them as potential adversaries and assessed the disparity between the two sides.

It was evident that the evaluation concluded their firepower was indeed sowhat inferior compared to the other party.

So, the PDFs were planning to run, but they intended to wait another half hour. If the four hadn't erged by then, they would assu they were dead and then flee.

If they were unfortunately attacked before that, they had already deployed in a scattered fan formation, and as many as possible would escape.

Fortunately, the best-case scenario occurred.

After realizing that the PDFs were still concealed in the area, Burton exchanged passcodes with them, and over twenty individuals erged from their hiding spots, regrouping once more.

Following Zhang Ge's orders, everyone boarded their vehicles. This ti, with Olivia leading the way, they were able to drive straight toward the hive city. Any debris obstructing Olivia's path was instantly reduced to rubble.
