The sparse magic power of mages has always been a stubborn issue, yet it has given rise to countless legendary tales of defeating the strong with the weak on the Divine Throne Continent.
Defeating the strong with the weak.
Outnumbering the enemies.
Ants swarming to bite an elephant to death.
Such phenona rarely seen in the Chongming Realm are commonplace on the Divine Throne Continent.
Thus, even those lofty Immortals and Eternal beings seldom fight alone. Mages either band together or establish various organizations to cultivate successors and allies.
This is also one of the reasons why the "Mage Tower" is so prevalent.
However, constructing a "Mage Tower" is no easy task; it’s not as simple as just building a house.
First, gathering the vast, varied, and precious magic materials needed to build a "Mage Tower" is a major challenge, not to ntion the rune construction and array formation required even after materials are acquired.
A person’s energy is limited, and so is a mage’s. Mages who can successfully build a complete "Mage Tower" either have abundant resources and backing—both wealth and manpower—or they slowly accumulate over ti, bit by bit adding facilities and devices. It’s not about trying to achieve it all in one go; for so, it takes the silent dedication of several or even dozens of generations to complete the tower.
Chen Jichuan is still lingering in the preparation stage for gathering "materials."
In fact, he is even worse off—it could be said that his "Mage Tower" hasn’t even reached the "site selection" phase.
"The ’Mage Tower’ can be built on a mountain or underwater; it’s not limited in form, but the location has to be rich in magic power, preferably with various magic materials distributed nearby. At a minimum, there shouldn’t be too great a scarcity of low-level magic materials; otherwise, it’ll be difficult to attract talented magic apprentices."
Chen Jichuan contemplated silently.
Ever since leaving the mountain abyss, he has been wandering across the Valgrion Continent, searching for various magic materials to construct his Mage Tower while scouting for a suitable site.
Building a Mage Tower doesn’t have to happen all at once, but once the location is chosen and the tower begins construction, once the Mage Tower is established, changing the location later cos at an enormous cost, so the decision must be made carefully.
...
The Valgrion Continent is ho to nurous realms.
Duchies.
Kingdoms.
Empires.
Billions of beings live together on the continent, and among them erge many transcendents—knights and mages—who either beco nobles, are revered by realms, or travel across the continent on adventures.
Chen Jichuan’s understanding of the Divine Throne Continent was all gained from Tuota Venerable. As the old saying goes, "Learning from books always feels shallow," and he used this opportunity during site selection to exchange knowledge with various mages on the continent. On one hand, this deepened his understanding of the world; on the other, he could trade for magic materials needed to construct a Mage Tower.
As ti went on, he gradually integrated himself, becoming more familiar with this world and the community of mages.
One day.
Chen Jichuan had just arrived at the western border of the "Valen Kingdom" on the Valgrion Continent when he spotted a patch of clovers from afar. He casually looked at them but suddenly froze in place, his eyes lighting up with joy.
"A Lucky Six-leaf Clover!"
Chen Jichuan activated his will, summoning the "Elental Hand," which turned into a slender jade-like hand. With a gentle sweep across the grass, it returned holding a six-leaf clover.
"I’ve long heard people say that many clovers grow within the Valen Kingdom’s borders. I never expected to complete my mission before even entering the kingdom itself."
Holding the six-leaf clover, Chen Jichuan’s face blossod into a smile.
On the Valgrion Continent, clovers are so of the most commonplace weeds. Yet, just as extraordinary individuals erge among billions of ordinary people, clovers are the sa. Among billions of clovers, most are three-leaved, while only a rare few grow four leaves, making them usable as magic materials.
Even rarer are six-leaf clovers, which are precious materials for constructing nurous magical spells.
For instance, "Summoning Skill," sothing Chen Jichuan had been yearning for, requires this six-leaf clover during its construction.
Chen Jichuan had specifically headed toward the Valen Kingdom in search of six-leaf clovers. He expected to have to spend considerable effort, but it turned out to be so easy, leaving him pleasantly surprised.
"I won’t go further."
"I’ll learn the ’Summoning Skill’ first."
Without delay, Chen Jichuan decided to stop near the patch of clovers instead of pressing onward. The other materials required to construct "Summoning Skill" were long prepared, and now that he had the six-leaf clover in hand, he could formally begin crafting this magic.
"Erald stone."
"Star crystal."
"Elental Eye."
"Lucky Six-leaf Clover."
Chen Jichuan took out the magic materials one by one, arranging them beside him according to the specific magical ritual. Then he seated himself cross-legged, channeling his inner magic power to outline the magic circuit.
[Level 1 Magic: Summoning Skill]
This is the core spell of the "Summoning System" and a staple of summoners.
The "Summoning Skill" is a self-contained system, progressing from basic magic to Level 4 Legendary Magic and Level 5 Forbidden Curse Magic. Summoners devote their lives to earning money and seeking out various magic materials, and their second biggest focus is researching the construction and expansion of summoning spells across all levels.
Currently, Chen Jichuan only possesses the basic and Level 1 versions of the Summoning Skill. Such low-level magic is relatively easy to acquire, but advanced versions are tightly controlled by high-level mages and prestigious academies, rarely being disseminated.
However, while others must worry about how to obtain high-grade magic, Chen Jichuan has no such concern. With "Derivation" in hand, he can effortlessly extrapolate higher-level versions of Summoning Skills, from Second Level to Third Level, Fourth Level, and even Forbidden Summoning Techniques.
That said, there’s no rush to extrapolate. Before doing so, he needs to personally experience the "Summoning Skill" and verify a few of his own hypotheses.
