Am I trapped?
This question seems irrelevant, or at least, it’s not sothing that Lan Tianhao should be asking.
Walking for such a long ti, it feels like going in circles in this grand palace, yet it doesn’t seem like going in circles.
The people here are all skilled, and a skilled person naturally wouldn’t miss any detail.
Song Qinghong noticed that along the way, the various patterns made up of bones on both sides of the palace had never repeated!
Since the patterns have not repeated, that ans they have not been retracing their steps.
Unless everything in the palace is changing at all tis!
Gulp!
Song Qinghong seed to realize this, his heart pounding suddenly, his expression becoming grave.
If the palace is changing, that ans there’s sothing wrong with it!
And they, they might just wander aimlessly within this palace until their death!
"Lin... Young Master Lin..."
Even Song Qinghong began to lose his composure, anxiously looking at Lin Hao.
At this mont, Lin Hao suddenly stopped in his tracks, his gaze lightning-fast as he looked ahead.
Ahead was darkness, no different from the palace they had been walking through before.
Everyone else couldn’t make sense of it, but seeing Lin Hao’s grave expression, they all held their breath.
"Four hundred thirty-five..."
In the vast and ominous palace, that sacred and majestic female voice once again erged in Lin Hao’s mind.
"Four hundred thirty-five?"
This number must not be just a random count; it must signify sothing.
But Lin Hao couldn’t figure it out.
"What’s four hundred thirty-five?" Lan Tianhao asked in surprise, looking at Lin Hao. Not to ntion him, even Song Qinghong hadn’t heard the counting voice in the void, let alone know that since they entered the gate of heaven and earth, the voice in the void had counted all the way up to four hundred thirty-five!
"Four hundred thirty-six!"
In the void, the counting voice continued, but in the palace’s dark corridor, a different atmosphere had already begun to spread.
"We, we have four hundred thirty-seven people on Death Island, plus everyone here, there should be four hundred fifty-three people in total, could this be..." Lan Xinxin suddenly had a spark of realization, muttering to herself on the side.
Counting people?
Counting heads?
What’s the significance?
Everyone glanced at each other, but a flash of light flickered in Lin Hao’s eyes.
"Four hundred fifty-three!"
In the void, that voice did indeed count up to four hundred fifty-three, then stopped.
Following that, Lin Hao noticed that ahead in the endless dark corridor, there appeared a light point as small as a grain of rice!
Although it was only the size of a grain of rice, the light point seed to be continuously expanding.
As the rice-sized light point grew, on the left side of the palace, another expanding light point also appeared.
Not just on the left, but on the right, the ceiling of the palace, and even beneath everyone’s feet, expanding light points appeared.
"What’s going on!"
The appearance of light points in other directions was one thing, but the sudden appearance beneath their feet took Lan Tianhao and others by surprise.
Looking down, they realized that at this mont, they seed to be standing on a mirrored surface, or as if floating in the boundless cosmos.
Everything had changed!
The light points grew larger and more nurous.
Behind every bone pillar, on each wall where skeletal patterns were drawn, light points erged, growing larger and larger.
The palace began to brighten, yet it also began to transform into sothing other than a palace.
Finally, from each light point, a figure erged.
No, a rmaid.
rmaid so beautiful it bordered on the extre.
Long, cascading black hair draped over her shoulders, skin pale and glistening, her figure slender and graceful, curves exquisite, breasts firm, delicate features that could be described as having stolen the essence of heaven and earth.
One might find it impossible to encapsulate the beauty of this rmaid, and even Lin Hao struggled to articulate it.
Perhaps, only a couplet like "Adorned in robes woven by clouds, her beauty matches the blooming flowers; touched by the spring breeze, a heavy dew glistens" could do justice to her allure.
The specks of light, splitting into two, multiplying into three, then blossoming into thousands.
With each light, the rmaid too, echoed into thousands.
Ahead, behind, to the sides, above, and even beneath.
Everywhere, the image of this stunning rmaid could be found.
Everywhere, a countenance so breathtaking it suffocated onlookers.
In less than fifteen minutes, Lin Hao’s group of four hundred and fifty-three was surrounded by these endlessly radiant rmaids.
Silence, utter silence!
Everyone was shocked by this scene.
It was known that there could not be so many identical rmaids.
But even Lin Hao could not discern the true form of the rmaid among the multitude.
It was as if each one was real, yet each one seed fictitious.
An illusion?
It crossed everyone’s minds.
Yet, each rmaid exuded a thrilling aura.
This sensation of power was unmistakably real.
And everyone had this feeling that if they were struck by any of these rmaids, it would surely be a path leading to death.
Fortunately, the rmaids did not attack. Instead, she slowly twisted her serpentine body, her eyes slightly closed, and with each step taken, she uttered a phrase:
"Life is not a beginning, death is not an end."
"Who are you, where do you co from, where will you go?"
"What brings you here, will you keep walking forward?"
"Life, much like this palace, resembles your current state of mind."
With these words, the rmaid finally opened her eyes.
In an instant, heaven and earth shone brilliantly because of those eyes, with the surrounding scenery starting to shift.
At that mont, everyone felt as if they were standing in the gardens of paradise, with birds singing and flowers fragrant, the blue skies and white clouds above, even butterflies fluttering nearby.
It was all too real!
No one dared to believe it was an illusion.
But no one believed it was all real, either.
Everyone beca solemn, many with fear and trepidation as they watched the countless identical, boundlessly enchanting rmaids.
At the very mont the rmaid’s eyes fully opened, it was as if the stars of the universe burst forth from those eyes.
Almost everyone gasped in awe, nearly prostrating to the stunning visage and those clear eyes.
So beca breathless, their gaze fixated, and those with weaker cultivation and resolve began imrsing in the rmaid’s otherworldly charm, their expressions turning lewd.
Many beca disordered in their breathing, and so, involuntarily, started walking towards the enchanting rmaid.
Even a woman like Lan Xinxin found herself drowning in the beauty of the rmaid, reaching out her hands subconsciously.
Disaster brewed!
Throughout, Lin Hao was the only one completely unaffected.
This was undoubtedly an Illusion Technique, but far from an ordinary one!
The real rmaid was certainly hidden among these countless illusory rmaids. If not found, it was feared more than half of the group might have their souls sucked away.
"Enough! With these confusing falsehoods, do you think such illusions can bewitch ?"
No longer could he wait. Since locating her true form proved elusive, he had to force the rmaid to reveal herself!
With a roar of fury, Primordial Qi around Lin Hao surged, his aura erupting powerfully as if to decimate heavens and earth.
