Xu Lai took his senior sister on a tour of the Heavenly Court, even taking the initiative to introduce her to the Divine Generals.

He had thought that if his senior sister had a Dao companion to keep her company, perhaps she wouldn’t be so averse to the idea of ’staying alive.’ But his senior sister had clearly seen through his intentions. She refused to take the bait and instead put on a pitiful act of self-pity.

The more Elder Huang Quan spoke, the more sullen his expression beca. He hadn’t expected Xu Qingfeng to give him so little face. He was, after all, a Ninth-Heaven Quasi-Emperor. Even if his Boundary was lower than the Emperor Realm, he shouldn’t be so completely ignored!

Wang Bainian scratched his head. The couple had just gone to the back of the mountain to deliver so vegetables and fruit but were disappointed not to find the senior sister and junior brother there. As they were heading back down, his wife ntioned hearing soone at the foot of the mountain. He had thought Wang He misheard, but it turned out to be true.
Wang Bainian went up to the visitor and said with a smile, "Old sir, Young Master Xu is not on the mountain. Please co back another day."
"Not here?!"
Elder Huang Quan was speechless. So I was just talking to thin air this whole ti?
"Yes, he’s not here."
After saying this, Wang Bainian led his wife back to their house at the base of the mountain. They still had a lot of plums to pick today; their trip up the mountain to deliver vegetables and fruit had just been a brief break from their work.

Yu Guiwan hadn’t expected to run into an acquaintance and quickly flew over. "Divine General Bai, what are you doing here?"
"Guarding this little Barrier." Baize replied, then asked curiously, "But you—"
"Qingfeng insisted on bringing here to pick out so protective Magical Treasures. Here, take a look."
Yu Guiwan sounded sowhat helpless. They had been having a perfectly nice ti touring the Heavenly Court when Xu Lai had suddenly dragged her to the Treasure Vault, and refusing was not an option. At that mont, her Storage Space was cramd full of all sorts of Magical Treasures, Elixirs, and Jade Slips containing Divine Skills.

Baize’s Divine Sense swept over Yu Guiwan’s storage ring, and she gasped.

The Second Divine General looked at Xu Lai and frowned slightly.
Xu Lai knew what Baize was thinking. She feared that the various treasures, prepared with good intentions, might instead beco a death warrant for his senior sister. Baize’s brows furrowed even more deeply. "A Quasi-Emperor restriction, unbreakable by anyone below the Emperor Realm. Was it left by the one from the Netherworld?"
"Mhm," Xu Lai confird without hiding anything. "He ca looking for yesterday."
"No wonder." Baize understood now. Otherwise, given The Supre Emperor’s hands-off nature, he wouldn’t have returned to the Heavenly Court just one day later. She nodded. "Let’s see it."
Xu Lai wiped the restriction from the Jade Slip and tossed it directly to Baize.
The Second Divine General’s Divine Sense probed into it. After a long silence, she looked at Xu Lai, seeming to want to say sothing but holding back.
"What’s inside?" Yu Guiwan leaned in curiously, but soon her eyes began to redden. "Qingfeng..."
Xu Lai imdiately realized what the Jade Slip contained. It was likely about him, and it was probably not good news.
