It was true.

Xu Yiyi had indeed forgotten. Recalling it now, she couldn’t help but feel a little embarrassed, her face blushing.

Yun Jin kicked Qian Xiao’s leg and glared with wide eyes. "If you can’t speak properly, then shut up."

"I didn’t say anything wrong," Qian Xiao muttered under his breath. "If we go now, I’m afraid we won’t find anything."

Suddenly, Kid Qian hesitated. "No, wait. I rember there were so clothes and other things under the corpse pit, along with so damaged weapons."

"Those are relics!" Yun Jin’s flat chest puffed out. "We can bring these relics back and build morial tombs for them."

"Yes, yes, yes," Xu Yiyi nodded eagerly.

With a goal in mind, they set off at once. The three youngsters took advantage of the moonlit night to sneak out of the city, leaving Chang’an behind.

In Chang’an City, the six Watchn ditating in the stone tower simultaneously opened their eyes. They looked in the direction the children had left but made no move to stop them.

Putting Yun Jin’s strength aside, Xu Yiyi and Qian Xiao were both in the Golden Core Realm. Their power was not inferior to these old-tirs; in fact, it might even be superior.

The Watchn bore the heavy responsibility of guarding the city and could not leave, but they approved of the younger generation’s desire to venture out. After all, this was no longer the era of three hundred years ago, when the Martial Dao was weak and Xu Yanyang alone had to support all of Chang’an City.

Tis had changed.

The Martial Dao of Hua Country was now brimming with talent. The younger generation had Xu Yiyi, Qian Xiao, Xu Die, the orthodox disciples of the three sects and eight pavilions, and even martial talents rising from among the common people.

These old n could guard the gates of Chang’an City. But the ambitions of the young prodigies should no longer be confined to a single city.

Their sights should be set on the moon.

On the vast sea of stars!

"If Aunt Ruan Lan were here, she’d definitely look at this night sky and yell, ’A dark and windy night, perfect for murder and arson!’"

The atmosphere among the three was a bit somber, so Qian Xiao took the initiative to break the silence.

"Hehehe." Yun Jin let out an unkind laugh.

Yiyi glared at Qian Xiao. "If Auntie knew you said that, she’d definitely give you a beating."

"She can’t beat , though," Qian Xiao snorted arrogantly. "I could take her on with just one hand!"

"Little Qian, you’ve beco arrogant." Yun Jin shook her head. "In the Cultivation World, arrogance is the ultimate taboo. Besides, Aunt Ruan Lan received the legacy of the Star Origin Sect."

A look of longing appeared in Little Glutton’s eyes. The Star Origin Sect’s deadly Great Array, even after dozens of eras, was still renowned throughout the Immortal Domain. If not for the appearance of The Supre Emperor’s Zhoutian Star Fighting Formation, it would have been considered unrivaled. Even an incomplete version of the Starlight Array could easily refine ten Qian Xiaos, despite his unparalleled physique.

Qian Xiao stopped trying to sound tough. "You’re right, you’re right," he admitted sheepishly. "I’ll be more cautious from now on."

Soon, the trio arrived at the corpse pit. This place had originally been the Moon Clan’s Spiritual Field, planted full of Spirit Plants. Back then, Ruan Lan had dug up everything—plants and soil alike—revealing the hidden pit of bodies beneath.

A foul stench still emanated from the pit, at the bottom of which lay clothing and weapons, weathered and scattered by ti.

Yiyi and Yun Jin were about to fly over when Qian Xiao stopped them. "Wait!"

"We need to be cautious. What if the Moon Clan set up an ambush?" Qian Xiao said with a grave expression. "We need to think about what Aunt Ruan Lan would do."

Yiyi was speechless.

Does he even need to think about it? Aunt Ruan Lan is cautious to a fault, but it’s true we ran into the Moon Clan here last ti.

BANG!

Yun Jin kicked Qian Xiao, sending him forward. As he stared back in bewildernt, she said without a blush, "You’re a body cultivator. If you don’t scout ahead, are we supposed to?"

Damn it! Qian Xiao had no desire to die young. He was only six, and his seventh birthday was still a month away.

He quickly mobilized his Spiritual Energy, forming a protective barrier around his body as he cautiously advanced. It took him a full five minutes to cover the re thousand ters.

After confirming that the imdiate area was clear of danger, Qian Xiao finally nodded. "It’s safe!"

The three children entered the corpse pit and began gathering the relics one by one. The ever-prudent Yun Jin even cast a disposable Formation to mask their presence and Spiritual Energy fluctuations.

Qian Xiao kept muttering, "Seniors, please don’t be offended. We are your own people. We didn’t an to disturb you last ti."

But they didn’t know that there was no one around for miles. Even the nearest Moon Clan tribe, which should have been bustling with noise, was now eerily silent.

This was a major tribe of the Moon Clan, tasked with guarding the Spiritual Field for the Moon King. As one of the foremost tribes, they had a chance to be elevated to the Crescent Moon Clan, and the entire tribe had been striving for this goal. Everything, from the Boundary of the tribesn to their architectural style, was arranged according to the standards of the Crescent Moon Clan.

A magnificent city was nestled within a range of overlapping mountains, with beacon fires burning atop nine of the peaks. But inside the tribe’s territory, it was frighteningly quiet.

If one were to look down from a mountaintop, they wouldn’t see a single standing creature, only sll the nauseating stench of blood on the wind. Entering the majestic city revealed a scene of utter carnage, with corpses strewn across the ground. The thick city walls were marred by massive craters, residual Spiritual Energy still pulsing around their edges.

DRIP.

DRIP.

DRIP.

Blood trickled steadily from the corpses hanging on the city walls, gathering into small, crimson streams. There wasn’t a single living soul left in the city. Millions of Moon Clan mbers had perished silently, without causing the slightest stir.

Not even the nearby trio of Xu Yiyi, Qian Xiao, and Yun Jin, nor any of the other Moon Clan tribes, had sensed a thing.

Not far from the city, on a small earthen mound, stood several dark figures.

Upon closer inspection, nine individuals were there, so sitting, so standing. They were the Supre Elders of the Yunxiao Sect—nine cultivators at the Peak of Golden Core, led by the white-haired Shan Qianchong. All nine were stained with blood. One was so gravely injured he could no longer walk, one foot already in the grave.

"Old Li, hang on!" Shan Qianchong’s eyes were red as he emptied a jade bottle of all its healing elixirs, trying to feed them to his friend of several hundred years.

"Qianchong." Old Li gently grasped Shan Qianchong’s hand and smiled with resignation. "Don’t waste the elixirs. Weren’t we prepared to die when we ca here?"

"Damn it all!" another Supre Elder cursed, his face dark. "We ca here to die, yes, but you can’t die now! We’ve only slaughtered one Moon Clan tribe, and you’re already done for? Disgraceful!"

"Cough!" Old Li coughed violently, hastily covering his mouth. When he stopped, his hand was slick with blood. He shook his head. "I know my own body... I’m beyond saving."

Shan Qianchong’s hand, holding the elixirs, trembled.

"Since our founder, the Yunxiao Sect has never failed the world, and we won’t start now," Old Li said emotionally. "We’ve repaid the debt Lin Xuzhi owed. As for the road ahead... you all will have to walk it for ... cough, cough."

Shan Qianchong roughly stuffed all the elixirs into Old Li’s mouth, forcibly extending his life.

As Old Li stared back in shock, Shan Qianchong threw his head back and laughed. "Hold on a little longer, Old Li! You can still self-destruct and kill a few more Golden Cores!"

"..."

Old Li was stunned for a mont, then he laughed and cursed, "You damn bastard."
