"I can go give the speech, too," Xu Lai said earnestly. "But I heard there’s supposed to be so on-stage interaction with Teacher Miao, which might involve physical contact. I don’t mind, though..."
"I’ll go!" Ruan Tang’s gaze hardened.
It wasn’t that she was worried Xu Lai might take advantage of Teacher Miao, nor was she jealous. She was just concerned about the potential scandal, since the young lady was still single. If word of this got out, how would she ever get married?
「Two o’clock in the afternoon.」
The parents of all thirty children had arrived. Even the rarely seen Qian Song and Luo Chu were sitting on either side of Qian Xiao. Fortunately, the auditorium was large enough to accommodate everyone.
Teacher Miao gave so polite remarks, praised each of the kindergarteners, and thanked the parents for taking ti out of their busy schedules to co. Amidst warm applause, she invited Ruan Tang to the stage to talk about how to educate children and how to be friends with them. It didn’t take long, only an hour.
After the parent-child eting ended, Luo Chu joked, "I was wondering why Teacher Miao didn’t ask to give a speech. Turns out you stole my thunder."
"You don’t visit the school once in a blue moon, and you have the cheek to say that?" Ruan Tang chided.
Luo Chu was helpless. She really hadn’t been able to before. Guarding Chang’an City would take months at a ti, and when she did get a few days off in rotation, she still had all sorts of personal affairs to handle, like cleaning up Qian Xiao’s sses. Now, as Luo Chu’s belly was gradually growing, both she and Qian Song had been given a long vacation by the Martial Dao Association, considering her safety and other factors.
Luo Chu giggled, "Today’s May 20th. How do you plan to celebrate with your other half?"
"It’s already three in the afternoon. We’ll probably just take a walk by the sea near our ho," Ruan Tang said helplessly. "What about you?"
"We’re planning on going back to Qian Xiao’s grandfather’s place."
"That’s a sha. Otherwise, I would’ve invited Yaoyao over to my place tonight for a barbecue and a hot spring soak," Ruan Tang said with regret.

It was a good thing Ruan Lan didn’t hear that. Otherwise, the backstabbing from her own niece would have left her heartbroken and unable to breathe.
It couldn’t be helped. Her bestie, Yu Xiaoxiao, had gotten a boyfriend a while ago, while Li Li, although also single, had jetted off to travel abroad.
"How about we bring her along and all go to the amusent park together?" Ruan Tang pondered. "I happen to have four complintary tickets from a partner company."
"Sure," Xu Lai didn’t refuse.
Yiyi was even more thrilled, bouncing with excitent. She definitely preferred being with her dad and mom over her aunt.
「Half an hour later.」
At the entrance of East Sea City’s Starry Sky Amusent Park, located near the Dragon Vein of Mount Fu, Ruan Lan, dressed in a light green long dress and wearing sunglasses, was waving her hand frantically.

Xu Lai shook his head. He was broke himself, so he certainly had no money to bankroll his quirky, dramatic sister-in-law.
"Bet you can’t guess where I got the money, can you?" Ruan Lan’s lips curled into a smile. She was now a proper Array Master who could earn money with her formations.
And just like that, a Divine Gate Realm practitioner from the Martial Dao Association had paid her one million to craft a few jade slips engraved with Defensive Arrays. The requirents were simple: they had to withstand a single strike from a Ninth Grade peak expert. This request didn’t even require engraving the primary defensive Starlight Array.
Xu Lai and Ruan Tang didn’t press the matter and entered the amusent park.
There were a ton of visitors today, but Ruan Tang’s four tickets were VIP passes, allowing them to use priority lanes for many attractions without having to queue at all. In just three hours, they had gone on nearly every ride in the park. Yiyi had a wonderful ti, her rry laughter ringing out constantly.
"It’s past six. Let’s head ho," Xu Lai said.
"Mmhm, mmhm," Yiyi said reluctantly. "Dad, can we co back and play again next ti? That haunted house was so interesting!"
Ruan Lan was speechless. She complained, "Could you show so respect for the staff in the haunted house pretending to be ghosts? You actually started flying and scared the bejesus out of them!"
"I’ll definitely show respect next ti," Yiyi promised solemnly.
「As the sky grew dark.」
The lights of the entire East Sea City began to flicker on. For so reason, the night felt extraordinarily picturesque.
Of course, while so people reveled in joy, others wallowed in sorrow. For instance, in an abandoned factory on the outskirts of East Sea City, a man was bound by blood-red ropes and suspended upside down. His head was about 1.8 ters from the ground, putting his line of sight perfectly level with the sixteen elderly n and won before him.
The man hanging captive was Tan Chang. Yet, he felt neither panic nor confusion, instead maintaining a stoic calm.
"Are you experts from the Moon Clan?" Tan Chang asked grimly.
"Tan Chang, stop playing dumb," the First Waning Moon Elder of the Moon Clan said icily. "You’ve known for a long ti that we were coming to Earth and even laid an inescapable trap for us. What’s with the act?"
The other fifteen Supre Elders frowned in unison. The Human Race was truly cunning and deceitful, still putting on an act even at a ti like this. But they had finally captured Tan Chang! He was not only Xu Lai’s right-hand man but also the Human Race’s strategist. Killing him would undoubtedly deal a heavy blow to their morale!
But he couldn’t be killed. They still needed to use Tan Chang to exchange for their hostage, the Crown Prince.
"???"
Tan Chang’s face was a mask of confusion.
When had he laid an inescapable trap? Why didn’t he know anything about it? Just last night, he was sleeping in his room, only to wake up this morning and find himself hanging immobilized in this abandoned factory. Who the hell had he, Tan Chang, pissed off to deserve this!!!
