"Honey, your reaction ti is a bit long," Xu Lai said, puzzled. "Did you only just realize that?"

"AHHH!" Ruan Tang buried her face in the blankets and whined, "I can’t show my face to anyone now."

It was because she had only just now reacted. A mont ago, her mind had been so full of her husband, Xu Lai, that she had completely forgotten about pouting for a kiss.

Shaking his head with a wry smile, Xu Lai looked over. In the moonlight, his wife’s slender figure was barely concealed, with only her head buried in the blankets. Her skin was as smooth and pale as fine jade.

「The next day.」

At eight in the morning, Xu Lai and Ruan Tang were woken by urgent knocking on the door. It was Xu Yiyi.

"Mommy, wake up! Yiyi is going to be late!"

"Yiyi, how about Auntie takes you to school today?" Yu Guiwan erged from the nearby guest room, smiling as she spoke.

"Can Auntie fly?" Xu Yiyi asked excitedly. "Yiyi wants to ride the clouds!"

"You’re already at the Golden Core stage. Just refine a cloud for yourself, and you’ll be able to ride it," Xu Lai said, pushing open the door and yawning as he looked at his daughter.

"Daddy!" Yiyi rushed toward Xu Lai, her little face filled with excitent. "Daddy, where did you go yesterday? Yiyi missed you so much."

"Really?" Xu Lai squatted down and couldn’t resist tweaking his daughter’s nose.

"Really."

"So where did you miss Daddy?"

"Here." The little girl patted her chest over her heart and said seriously, "I even dread about you yesterday, Daddy."

Xu Lai kissed his daughter’s forehead and chuckled. "Yiyi is such a good girl. Daddy will make you a feast today."

"Daddy’s the best!" The happiness in Xu Yiyi’s eyes was about to spill over.

Wearing her pajamas, Ruan Tang stood behind Xu Lai and spoke with so awkwardness, "Good morning, Senior Sister."

She obviously still rembered what had happened the previous night.

"I heard that Junior Sister is pregnant, so Qingfeng and I shalessly ca to see you," Yu Guiwan said with uncharacteristic seriousness. "If we’ve disturbed you, please forgive us, Junior Sister."

"You’re being too polite, Senior Sister."

"Junior Sister, on behalf of my father and your two Senior Brothers, I thank you." Yu Guiwan bowed deeply.

Ruan Tang quickly helped Yu Guiwan straighten up. "Senior Sister, what are you doing?" she asked anxiously.

"Qingfeng was alone and helpless until my father brought him back to the Heavenly Court. Though we have no blood relation, I’ve always seen him as my brother," Yu Guiwan said, her expression complex. "My father, his two senior brothers, and I couldn’t protect him or give him the feeling of ho. Thankfully, you were there..."

"Senior Sister," Xu Lai interrupted, "what would you like for breakfast?"

Ruan Tang glanced sideways. She saw that while Xu Lai seed as calm as ever, his eyes were slightly red.

She sighed softly.

She had always known that in Xu Lai’s mind, the Heavenly Court had never owed him anything. Instead, he was the one indebted to the Heavenly Court. Especially after learning that his Master, Senior Sister, and two Senior Brothers had all been trapped in the Mass Burial Mound, his sense of debt had grown even heavier. Because he had arrived too late. His two Senior Brothers and his Master had passed away, one after another. If not for his Senior Sister’s disciple, Wu Ying—the beautiful woman who had taken pity on their Master and deliberately left clues—Xu Lai might still not know that his Senior Sister was alive. That missed chance would have beco an eternal, unndable regret. Even before his Master died, he worried that Xu Lai would develop heart demons from this and instructed Yu Guiwan not to seek out her Junior Brother, even if she managed to leave the Mass Burial Mound. So how was the Heavenly Court indebted to Xu Lai? Not in the slightest!

"I’m talking to Junior Sister. What does this have to do with you?" Yu Guiwan frowned. "Go make so breakfast, and be quick about it. Go on!"

"..."

Yiyi shrank back. Auntie is so fierce.

The conch girl, Beibei, was equally dumbfounded. She dares to scold even The Supre Emperor? Incredible. I’d better keep my distance from this formidable woman in the future.

Of course, Xu Lai didn’t get angry. He just said with a hint of helplessness, "Alright, I’m going."

He headed down to the kitchen.

Glancing both ways, Yu Guiwan pulled Ruan Tang into the room and locked the door.

CLICK.

With the door locked, Yu Guiwan turned to Ruan Tang, her expression gravely serious.

"Junior Sister, lift up your nightgown."

"..."

A blush spread across Ruan Tang’s face. "Senior Sister, no, I can’t do sothing that would betray Xu Lai."

Yu Guiwan was taken aback for a mont, realizing the ambiguity of her words. She didn’t blush, however. Instead, she chuckled. "That’s right. I’m here to steal my Junior Brother from you."

Ruan Tang unconsciously gripped the hem of her nightgown, taking a step back.

"I was just joking." Yu Guiwan stopped teasing her and said solemnly, "I have sothing to give you, and clothing can’t be in the way."

After a mont’s hesitation, Ruan Tang chose to trust her Senior Sister and did as she was asked.

Yu Guiwan narrowed her eyes.

Though she was only at the Immortal Venerable Realm, she knew her Junior Brother wouldn’t intentionally use his Divine Sense or five senses to spy on them.

Therefore, the slightly damaged Quasi-Emperor Artifact she had taken from the inheritance Barrier could temporarily block Xu Lai’s perception.

Of course, this isolation wouldn’t last long.

But Yu Guiwan didn’t need much ti; a re three breaths would be sufficient.

She bit the tip of her finger, and a drop of purple blood coalesced there.

The mont the purple blood appeared, the surrounding space seed to freeze. At the sa ti, terrifying cracks spread across the damaged Quasi-Emperor Artifact, which looked as if it could shatter at any mont.

Yu Guiwan touched a finger to Ruan Tang’s snowy-white abdon. The purple blood vanished without a trace, rging completely into Ruan Tang’s body.
