Ruan Tang had only spoken two words before her sentence ca to an abrupt halt.
Xu Lai couldn't help but ask, "Because of what?"
"Because I want to hold your hand. Is that reason enough?"

Xu Lai paused for a mont, then smiled radiantly. "It is. It's enough to hold for a lifeti."
Ruan Tang said nothing.
Wasn't the rest of her life already tied to him? How could she ever escape from Xu Lai's grasp?
Despite these thoughts, there wasn't a hint of resentnt on her face. On the contrary, she squeezed Xu Lai's hand a little tighter, looking forward to their daughter's upcoming birthday party.

"Co on, let's go for a soak," Xu Lai said before leaping directly from the second-floor balcony into the hot spring pool, splashing water all over the two of them below.
In an instant, his daughter and sister-in-law retaliated, furiously splashing water back at him.
"What a child," Ruan Tang sighed, touching her forehead. She didn't follow his chaotic example, instead walking down the stairs properly and wading slowly into the pool.
Just as Xu Lai had said, soaking in the hot spring on a cold day was pure bliss. It was so comfortable that Ruan Tang's eyes narrowed in pleasure, her expression one of utter contentnt.
"Mommy, let Yiyi give you a massage." Xu Yiyi's small hands began kneading her shoulders. Her touch was light and gentle, lting away all of Ruan Tang's fatigue.
"A virtuous wife, a filial daughter, and a beautiful, cute, smart, skillful, and sensible sister-in-law... Brother-in-law, you're so lucky," Ruan Lan remarked from the side with a sigh.
"A bit too confident for a second-rate attraction, don't you think?" Xu Lai glanced at her, which imdiately sent Ruan Lan into a rage. She lunged as if to strike him but was stopped by Ruan Tang's sharp command.
"If my sister hadn't stopped , the weeds on your grave would be a ter high by next year!" Ruan Lan huffed.
"As long as you live long enough, I can make them ten ters high for you, never mind one. You could even throw a rave on my grave for all I care," Xu Lai said seriously.
Ruan Lan was speechless. She suddenly felt exhausted. How could her brother-in-law be so thick-skinned?
Ruan Lan suddenly lost all interest in the hot spring. She sighed, "I'm going back to bed."

"Xu Lai, I was wrong! Please stop..." Ruan Tang begged for rcy, tears of laughter welling in her eyes as her body tensed up.
