Zhou Qingfeng held his breath and moved with the assault vehicle. When only a dozen ters away from the target, he ordered the driver, "Fire single shots with the heavy machine gun, blow the hostage-taker’s head off."

No response followed those words.

The driver awkwardly said, "I’ve only been in the guard unit for less than half a year. I don’t know how to operate the M2 heavy machine gun. You’ll need to find soone else."

Zhou Qingfeng was stunned for two seconds. He wanted to find soone else but realized that Kongges, the core of the standoff, was in a bad state—his hand was shaking, and the gun muzzle was unsteady.

Damn, that big guy’s probably about to collapse.

Without saying much, Zhou Qingfeng climbed onto the back seat of the assault vehicle, opened the ammunition cover of the M2 heavy machine gun, drew out the ammunition belt from the ammo box, and pressed it into the chamber.

The driver asked in confusion, "You know how to use a heavy machine gun? That’s a skill only professional soldiers have. If you miss, the hostage on the other side will die."

"I actually know how to use this thing." Zhou Qingfeng grabbed the charging handle, pulled it back forcefully, and the gun made a ’clack’ sound as the bullet was chambered.

He glanced at the sight, loosened the tripod lock, gripped the D-handle with both hands, aid the muzzle at Funeral Bell Chris’s head, and lightly placed his thumb on the trigger.

At that mont, the flickering light of the bonfire cast shadows on Funeral Bell’s face, making his expression look ferocious and insane.

He was more anxious than anyone, his mouth dry, heart racing, desperately wanting a way out.

Taking hostages was the best solution he could think of, but what next? He didn’t know. He couldn’t abandon the farm, leave his family, or live without money.

In any case, he wouldn’t surrender, nor would he easily let Julia and her daughter go. It could even be said... he would absolutely not let them go.

Kongges was also in a bad state, physically exhausted, his vision occasionally blacking out.

His wife and daughter were just a few steps away, but that short distance felt like an impassable chasm.

Everyone at the scene was feeling impatient, unsure how long this chaotic situation would last. Everyone hoped to resolve it quickly and end this dangerous standoff.

"Bang—"

A series of muffled three-shot bursts sounded like thunder, tearing through the night’s silence.

The gunshots felt right next to their ears, and everyone flinched, with many soldiers dropping their guns and lying down with their hands over their heads.

A .50 caliber bullet whizzed out, bringing devastating power, flying a dozen ters in an instant and penetrating a mber of the Chris Clan.

This family mber happened to be standing in front of Funeral Bell Chris. The bullet shattered his collarbone, tore through his neck, and then precisely hit the head of the target behind.

John Chris’s head exploded on the spot, and his body fell like a broken sack. Julia and her daughter, who were being held by him, also collapsed to the ground, unable to support themselves.

The large-caliber bullet still had energy, continuing to penetrate the back of another family mber, shattering his spine and sending a mass of flesh and blood out of his chest.

-----------------

The deafening gunfire instinctively made everyone lie on the ground.

Except for Old Chris, who couldn’t dodge from his wheelchair, he could only endure the sudden terror with wide-open eyes.

At the mont the gunfire sounded, Old Chris shivered all over, feeling a warm touch on the back of his neck, thick liquid slowly flowing down his scalp.

He instinctively reached out, his fingertips covered in blood mixed with tiny pieces of flesh. Slowly turning his head, the scene before him made him feel like falling into an ice cave.

His three sons had already fallen in a pool of blood, their bodies incomplete.

The eldest’s head was gone, the third son’s neck was half torn, and the youngest had a huge hole in his chest, with blood gushing out.

Other family mbers squatted or lay on the ground, blankly staring at the fallen relatives beside them, as if they couldn’t comprehend what had happened, but instantly realizing that everything was lost.

Normal rifle bullets might be blocked by the human body, but a .50 caliber bullet showed no rcy, effortlessly penetrating all obstacles.

Kongges, who was originally exhausted, was jolted by the gunfire.

The enemy’s head was blown apart, flesh and blood flying. Without thinking further, he ran forward in two steps and pulled his wife and daughter out of danger.

Julia also used her last bit of strength to tightly hold onto her daughter, stumbling forward, falling to her knees, getting up again with gritted teeth, and continuing to run...

The once formidable soldiers seed struck dumb, lying on the ground, afraid to move, peeking like ostriches, then hiding again.

But Zhou Qingfeng remained steadily in control of the heavy machine gun, keeping the muzzle aid at the remaining Chris Family.

He even hoped they’d do sothing—provoke, escape, anything.

Fifty rounds in the ammo box were enough to empty out in ten seconds, crushing all resistance.

After thirty seconds of silence, the atmosphere eased slightly, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief, realizing that the bloody conflict had finally co to an end.

Several FBI agents glanced around, cautiously moving backwards, trying to retreat.

However, Zhou Qingfeng coldly glared at them, the heavy machine gun’s muzzle slightly turning, and the agents imdiately froze, not daring to move a muscle.

The smartest person on the scene was Old Hamr. He slowly walked to Kongges, who was now crying with his family, and softly said, "Kongges, you’d best not leave any loose ends."

"What?" Kongges had just reunited with his wife and daughter, slightly relaxing, but tensed up again at those words.

"That FBI Deputy Director didn’t co out of the basent, did you kill him?" Old Hamr asked directly.

Kongges’s heart sank, knowing he couldn’t avoid it, so he nodded, "I did it. At that ti..."

Old Hamr waved his hand, not wanting to hear any ’at that ti.’ He gestured towards the Chris family lying on the ground, "You’re definitely going to have trouble, it can’t be avoided.

If you want to protect your wife and daughter, even your own life, the key is not to let the trouble spread to Victor, and don’t give those human traffickers a chance to find lawyers.

Victor took such a big risk to help you find your wife and daughter, he definitely won’t ignore you. As long as he isn’t in trouble, your trouble won’t be a problem."

Kongges, who had been a police officer for more than ten years, instantly understood Old Hamr’s aning—tonight’s success in rescuing his family was entirely due to Zhou Qingfeng’s financial support behind the scenes.

But if this matter were investigated deeply, it would definitely not comply with procedure, and even a slight misstep could bring disaster.

The officials could be dealt with through so ans, but the biggest risk now was the Chris Family—they were guilty, but not the whole family.

Once it reached court, a powerful lawyer could easily escalate the issue, involving Zhou Qingfeng.

So...

Old Hamr suddenly shouted, "Watch out, he’s drawing a gun!"

The atmosphere tensed instantly, with relaxed soldiers falling back down, grabbing their guns in a panic, eyes darting around.

Kongges, who was comforting his wife and daughter, imdiately shouted, "Get down!" Without hesitation, he aid his rifle at the Chris Family and pulled the trigger.

Old Chris, who was in a wheelchair, was looking back at his sons’ bodies in grief, contemplating how to find a good lawyer to give their family a chance in court.

A burst of hot bullets ca whistling, and Old Chris was the first to fall. Then, the people around him were also hit one by one.

The two shouts startled Zhou Qingfeng as well. He widened his eyes, cautiously observing the surroundings, thinking soone might still be struggling.

When the gunfire stopped, Kongges had already emptied two magazines.

Over a dozen mbers of the Chris Clan lay in blood, each hit in vital points like the head and chest, clearly targeted in short bursts.

The soldiers were still in shock, lying on the ground, afraid to get up. Only the FBI agents realized—it was an extermination!

With no plaintiffs left in court, the case’s direction depended entirely on the prosecutor’s conscience... and the defendant’s wallet.

Just like the famous "Simpson murder case" years ago, despite solid evidence, the lack of plaintiffs and the defendant’s wealth for top lawyers led to an acquittal.

How ruthless.
