Hearing her, Istan could not help but roll back his eyes to her.
"Please, I am serious about it! Ever since I beca a hybrid, I no longer have the taste buds of normal humans. Fruits and vegetables that were supposed to be delicious beca bland and dry on my mouth."
"anwhile… raw ats beca delicious slling… especially…" He hesitated for a mont before continuing.
"Especially human at!"
Hearing him, Jellan understood where he was coming from. However, she won't kill him, not until Nile ordered her to do so. Heck, he just ca back to her life, what if he leaves again after hearing that she killed his precious younger brother? That would be a tragedy for her.
Besides, while they were fighting earlier, or rather, while she was chasing him earlier, she could tell that he doesn't have any bit less of an intention to fight back. Not that it matters anyway as Jellan would still be able to overpower him in a one-on-one fight.
"It's not for to decide!" Jellan finally decided to answer seriously.
"Why? Sigh! If only Bro-Nile was still here, everything would not have beco this way! Everything would have beco easier." Istan said in a nostalgic tone as he recalled his past mories with Nile at the center of it.
Jellan got his point. Nile was more like a true leader before. He always prioritized others, especially her, Alex, Istan and the other childrens before thinking about his own well-being.
Every ti, his decision would always be reasonable and ever since Jellan intruded into his life, she never ca into an instance where he made the wrong decision. One ti when Nile was no longer at the town, Jellan even thought that because Nile did it, he must have a fairly reasonable reason. That's why she also did not bother searching for him that much.
However, Alex was never okay with it. He kept on searching and searching until he eventually got tired of it, or at least, that is what Jellan knew.
"Follow !" Jellan stated as she stood up from beside Istan.
Istan was confused but still decided to follow her. Just as they saw Nile as their big brother, or a fathen even, they also saw Jellan in the sa light.
The children could feel her love and care towards Nile and she was even extrely passionate about it. However, when Nile disappeared a few years ago, it's as if her world beca monotone. She still visits this place but it was no longer as often when Nile was still around.
Before Istan followed her, he first gathered and picked up the foods scattered on the ground one by one. After he discovered the other here a week ago, it has already beco his routine to visit them every night while bringing food and other supplies. Of course, he would only go in the middle of the night as he was fairly sure that the other hybrids would already be busy eating human flesh at this point in ti.
Every ti, he would also take careful asures to avoid being suspicious and be tracked while going here.
Soti later, they arrived at the living room where Nile was lying to upgrade his rank.
Jellan sat beside him as she waited for Istan's arrival.
Although it was dark around here and he was only an early level one hybrid at most, Istan could still faintly see the outline of a man beside Jellan sleeping soundly.
He already saw him before but due to him sleeping like a dead log, he just ignored him and instead focused his attention on Jellan who was ditating at that ti. However, he no longer dared to blatantly observe her as he decided to just leave the area first.
Alas, who would have thought that Jellan would still notice him with just that slight noise? However, from another perspective, Istan was also grateful that he stumbled on that table before. If not for that table, he would not have co to know that it was actually Jellan.
Jellan waved her hand in the air, beckoning for Istan to co closer and see who was beside her.
Istan nodded his head and followed her instructions.
And the exact mont saw the person's sleeping face, as if an explosion struck his mind, he jolted into shock and dropped the food he was holding to the ground.
A series of emotions surface on his face as he recalled the face he was extrely grateful and indebted to.
"Bro-Nile!" He yelled and did not waste any more ti as he pounced directly towards him for a hug.
Jellan frowned at his hasty actions and instead of reprimanding him, she just kicked him on the stomach to throw his body a few ters back. She did not put much strength to it and she knew that it was only a push for Istan with his current strength as a hybrid that is being buffed during the night.
Istan landed a few ters back and he could not help but stare at Jellan suspiciously. It does not matter to Istan if Jellan decided to kill him or not. He won't even bla her if she decided not to take care of the others. However, if she prevents him from seeing his Bro-Nile, it's already a different matter.
His brows scrunched into confusion as he stared at Jellan with an intense gaze. He eyed her and it was apparent that he hates her now.
Like a rebellious child, Istan stared at Jellan intensely as he demanded an answer.
"What are you doing?!" He yelled at Jellan while clenching both his fists tightly. One could tell his frustration from his voice alone.
"Getting rebellious are we? Istan?"
Jellan only smiled at his stares. Just as what she said earlier, it won't matter even if he decided to fight.
However, she knew she didn't need to fight him as this was after all, just a misunderstanding.
"Hear out first before giving that kind of gaze! Tsk-tsk!"
