Chapter 66: Chapter 66: What is This? Chapter 66: Chapter 66: What is This? As they spoke, Cheng Yi’s cup was filled once again, but he still stuck to tea instead of alcohol.
Seeing Cheng Yi light up another cigarette and not eat a thing, Xinan couldn’t help but ask, “You haven’t eaten anything tonight. Even if you don’t like the food, you should eat a little. What if your stomach problems act up again?”
Xinan felt that she was becoming more and more like a nagging old woman, but she was genuinely worried Cheng Yi would ruin his health.
“Weiwei, could you pass so skewers of barbecued at?” Lin Wei was sitting right by the grill.
“Sure.”
Lin Wei thought Xinan wanted them for herself, so she grabbed a few more skewers, only to find that Xinan handed them directly to Cheng Yi.
Although Cheng Yi frowned, he still took them and began to eat.
Lin Wei felt her face burning hot, as if soone had harshly slapped her. When she had asked Cheng Yi earlier, he had refused.
But when Xinan gave him the barbecue, he took it without a word.
What did this an?
At that mont, Lin Wei felt extrely embarrassed.
But no one noticed her discomfort, as it was about to strike midnight, and everyone was thinking about what to post on their Monts for the New Year.
When the clock hit midnight, Lin Wei also took out her phone and opened her Monts. With so few friends, she quickly saw Xinan’s new post: “Hoping to get what I wish for in the new year.”
Lin Wei edited a post for her own Monts: “Hope in the coming year, I can say ‘Happy New Year’ to you.”
In the end, the barbecue was almost all eaten. Although it was enjoyable while eating, cleaning up was quite the pain.
Seeing Tan Bo pretending to leave, Jiang Yurou imdiately called out, “Tan Bo, where are you going? Co and help clean up.”
Scratching the back of his head, Tan Bo said, “I’m not going anywhere. I ate too much and was just walking it off.”
“Really? I feel like soone was just about to leave,” Jiang Yurou said with a stern look.
“Was I?”
“Didn’t you tell before you ca today that you wanted to make it up to Nannan? But I haven’t seen any sincerity from you.”
“My sincerity can be witnessed by heaven and earth!”
“Then co over and mop this area, and clean the grill too,” Jiang Yurou said with a sly smile. “Show your sincerity.”
Tan Bo: “…”
And then, all the chores fell onto Tan Bo alone…
Xinan was about to help him sweep the floor, but before she could move, Cheng Yi had taken the broom from her hands, saying, “Let do it.”
Lin Wei also wanted to help, but Jiang Yurou held her back, “Weiwei, let’s go inside and sit. Let these n do the work.”
“But…”
Jiang Yurou patted her shoulder, “It’s alright.”
In the end, Jiang Yurou pulled Lin Wei into the villa.
Lin Wei finally saw the interior of the villa, which wasn’t what she had imagined. There were no lavish decorations or extravagant furnishings, just simple cleanliness with nothing superfluous.
But this style of decoration didn’t quite fit Xinan’s character; it seed more like a man’s… Could this be Cheng Yi’s house? Were Xinan and Cheng Yi living together?
Lin Wei dared not think any further, her mind was in complete disarray.
“Weiwei, what are you still standing there for? Co sit in the living room,” Xinan said, carrying tea out from the kitchen.
“Okay…”
Compared to Lin Wei’s restraint, Jiang Yurou was completely different, lounging in the sofa with her legs crossed and casually thrown onto the coffee table, acting as if this place was her own ho without a hint of discomfort.
About half an hour later, Cheng Yi and Tan Bo finally ca back from outside.
As soon as he saw the tea on the table, Tan Bo hurriedly poured himself a cup and then, panting, said, “I’m totally exhausted, haven’t worked this hard in a long ti.”
For soone like Tan Bo, who lived a life of luxury, ho was always attended to by maids; why would he need to do anything himself?
Jiang Yurou said, “I think you’re just lacking in exercise. Look at Brother Yi, he doesn’t seem exhausted like you.”
Tan Bo glanced at Cheng Yi and sure enough, not a single gasp for breath. Damn, did this make him look feeble?
Cheng Yi shook the rainwater off his clothes and then said, “It started raining outside.”
“Raining?” Jiang Yurou was surprised by the sudden weather change; it had started raining after they ca in.
Xinan said, “Then why don’t you guys stay over tonight?”
“Sure!” Jiang Yurou would’ve preferred not to return anyway; she didn’t want to go back to that cold, desolate apartnt where she was all alone.
Tan Bo said, “I’m good with that.” He had no plans for the next day anyway.
Xinan turned to Lin Wei, “Weiwei, what about you?”
With Tan Bo and Jiang Yurou not going back, Lin Wei probably felt awkward about leaving, so she said, “Okay…”
Hearing that everyone was staying, Jiang Yurou got visibly excited, “Since nobody is leaving, let’s play Werewolf.”
Only Jiang Yurou could co up with so many crazy ideas.
Tan Bo: “Sure!”
His nightlife usually just started around this ti; if he went to bed now, he probably wouldn’t be able to sleep anyway.
Xinan said, “I know the rules but don’t know how to play.”
Lin Wei: “I also… don’t know how.”
Then everyone looked at Cheng Yi.
Cheng Yi suddenly felt a bit helpless and shook his head, saying, “You guys go ahead, I still have work to deal with later.”
Since Werewolf needed at least one werewolf, one seer, two villagers, and a moderator to play, without Cheng Yi, they couldn’t play.
Jiang Yurou flicked her hand, “Then let’s play Fight the Landlord.”
Since Fight the Landlord only needed three players, Jiang Yurou told Tan Bo, “Then you’re out.”
Tan Bo gestured a losing sign with his fingers towards her.
But at that mont, Lin Wei spoke up, “I’ll sit out, you all play.”
Tan Bo thought Lin Wei was dropping out because of him and said, “It’s fine, you play. I’m just going to play on my phone and then go to sleep.”
“Okay.”
Lin Wei said this just as Cheng Yi turned to go upstairs; her gaze lingered on his back, and in that mont, her eyes dimd, a bitter taste rising in her heart.
It seed Xinan and Cheng Yi really were living together, and this must be Cheng Yi’s ho, otherwise he wouldn’t have gone upstairs without saying a word to anyone.
And all night long, Cheng Yi hadn’t initiated a single conversation with her, and her carefully chosen outfit went unnoticed.
His eyes only had room for Xinan…
Seeing that Lin Wei was holding her cards absently, Xinan nudged her, “Weiwei, it’s your turn to play.”
“Oh, okay…” Lin Wei looked away, gathering her wandering thoughts.
