Taking advantage of the film crew setting up the scene for the next shot, Lin Wei finally found a mont to go to the restroom.
After finishing, just as she was about to open the door, she overheard a conversation between a few won outside.
“That guy just now, who is he from Xinan? He seems pretty powerful; even the director went to greet him.”
When she heard the na Xinan, Lin Wei’s hand on the doorknob hesitated slightly, and she didn’t rush to open the door, listening quietly to the conversation outside.
“I don’t know, but I saw him getting out of a Bugatti when I was outside grabbing sothing.”
“A Bugatti? No wonder Xinan has been getting such great opportunities lately, first starring in Lu Jiang’s ‘Mist’ and then as the female lead in ‘It’s You’. Turns out she’s been climbing high branches.”
The girl’s voice carried a hint of mockery.
Hearing this, Lin Wei’s brow furrowed slightly.
“But I have to say, that man is really handso. His looks would definitely rank at the top even in showbiz. Xinan is such a lucky girl to have it all to herself.”
“Yes, yes!” another girl agreed.
Lin Wei cracked the door slightly open and saw a girl turn to the side and whisper, “Oh, by the way, I just heard the director calling that guy Mr. Yi.”
Lin Wei felt a jolt in her heart. Mr. Yi? Could it be that he was here…
But then she thought that he must be here for Xinan, and her heart couldn’t help but sink.
“Mr. Yi? Are you sure the director called him Mr. Yi?” one of the girls asked with a mix of shock on her face.
The other two girls were puzzled, their eyes showing curiosity, “I heard it with my own ears, no mistake. What’s wrong?”
The girl’s expression soured, “In Jing City, there’s only one person who could be called Mr. Yi, the young master of the Cheng Family, the head of Yifeng Group, “He’s Cheng Yi.”
“What did you say?” The two spoke in unison, their tone full of disbelief.
“It must be Cheng Yi.” She had seen him from a distance once before, and although she hadn’t seen his face clearly, his aura was very similar to the man today; it must be him.
“How would Xinan know Cheng Yi?”
“How would I know?” the girl gritted her teeth, “Xinan has always looked like a vixen; she must have used so tricks to seduce Cheng Yi.”
“I think so, too.”
The voices of the girls faded away, and when the restroom finally fell silent, Lin Wei slowly opened the door and stepped out.
After washing her hands, Lin Wei leaned against the wall for a while until she heard the director calling everyone back to work, then she turned and walked out of the restroom.
No sooner had she returned to the set than she saw Cheng Yi standing not too far away. He wore a crisp white shirt, his wrists slightly bent, paired with black trousers, his hands in his pockets, looking relaxed.
From this angle, she could just make out his chiseled jawline and prominent nose; he looked incredibly elegant and gentlemanly, but his deanor exuded a cool and distant aura.
Although he appeared relaxed, his gaze was fixed on only one spot. Lin Wei followed his line of sight and saw Xinan, who was in the midst of filming.
A flash of envy crossed her eyes, but more than that, a sting of sadness…
Cheng Yi might never look at her with that kind of gaze in his lifeti, and he might not even rember her much at all.
Xinan, Nannan, it turned out that the na Cheng Yi slurred out when he was drunk was her’s. Indeed, the world is small!
“Weiwei, what are you looking at?” The speaker was one of the extras from their crew, nad Lele.
Lin Wei quietly withdrew her gaze and replied, “Nothing.”
“Oh.” Lele didn’t ask further but then said, “By the way, have you seen the guy over there?”
She was referring to Cheng Yi.
Lin Wei nodded nonchalantly.
Lele looked around and then whispered to Lin Weiwei, “I heard them say that guy’s identity is really sothing.”
“I know.” Lin Wei said with a wry smile.
“Ah?” Lele asked, “How do you know?”
“I heard so people talking about it in the restroom,” Lin Wei answered truthfully.
“That’s so boring.” Lele pouted and glanced again at the man across from them, “He’s really handso. When will I ever et such a handso guy of that caliber!”
Watching Lele’s starry-eyed expression, Lin Wei couldn’t help but say, “The chances are slim.”
“What do you an by that?” Although she couldn’t compare to Xinan, she wasn’t bad-looking either.
“You should start by losing so weight.”
That comnt hit a nerve with Lele. Although she was only 110 pounds, that was indeed considered heavy in the entertainnt industry.
“Starting today, I’m going to be serious about losing weight,” Lele resolved.
Lin Wei had heard this from her countless tis since joining the crew, but she still said, “Okay, I wish you success in finding a handso guy.”
“When I’ve slimd down, I’ll find not one but five handso guys at once.” But after thinking about it, Lele changed her mind, “No, I’ll find ten,” because perfection is ten out of ten.
Lin Wei just gave her an incredulous look.
