Into Skyrim, Elder Scrolls 8 Nirn's Beta Chapter 107: Magic of my own

We prepared right outside the last barrier. My mana replenished every ti I casted a spell. The ambient magic was helping greatly in this situation. So instead of just casting my alteration spells on myself. I casted it on Gwenn and Viree as well.

Gwenn gasped, "Whoa, I feel powerful!"

Viree swung Volendrung, "Sa, it feels like my strength has doubled."

I smirked, "Alteration is the best school of magic. Those that go destruction magic are posers."

Gwenn frowned, "I can't entirely fault that. It is nearly impossible to power level. I an I have max conjuration and restoration. Destruction is torture to level."

I nodded, "Speaking of conjuration, summon sothing. Preferably sothing that won't talk. I can reinforce it with so alteration magic."

Viree wondered aloud, "Why not sothing that can talk?"

I shrugged, "Dremora can get annoying."

Gwenn shared my opinion with a nod. "They like to talk trash. I'll summon Minerva, she is a fla atronach that I was sent on a quest to stop. She was burning up the country side."

As a fla atronach ca into existence my eyes widened. The fla atronach pointed at and clapped its hands. Gwenn looked at oddly, "She knows you?"

I nodded, "This fla atronach was a minion of Viree's dad. I killed him and the atronach stuck around. So, I just let her go."

Viree looked at with so unspoken words. "Don't ask who her dad was and why I killed him."

Gwenn nodded, but returned so words. "It still is a small world."

I clapped my hands as Minerva looked between us all. "Didn't you say you were maxed level conjuration?"

Gwenn paused and realized what I ant, "Sorry! I'll summon the other two."

She smiled, "The Frost Atronach is Pablo and the Storm atronach is Tron."

When the two other atronachs joined us in the small entrance I spoke aloud. "Atronachs of Gwenn, I am going to cast so Alteration spells on you to give you a bit of a boost. Are you all okay with this."

The three atronachs gave an okay of varying forms. With them all agreeing I snapped my fingers and waves of magic washed over them. "Gwenn open the barrier."

She carved the barrier open with the staff of magnus. Once the path was open Pablo lead the way.

"What is? Who are you? What ar-"

Ancano was hit with several attacks at once. However to my shock he was unhard. How? I began to feel the mana around and paused. "Mother fucker... Viree, keep the elf from casting spells on the Eye."

She nodded and jumped into action. She followed Pablo striking at Ancano as he dodged. When a fire ball hit him I watched it bounce off him. The eye was giving a status called mana-drenched. I had seen it when I was casting my alteration spells.

I had Mana-drench x1, which ant the status ca in stacks. The first stack obviously gave increased mana regen. At so point it gave magic resistance and magic reflection. Two very overpowered effects.

Gwenn began to get to work on closing the Eye. Which left to play the role of support. Ancano moved quickly I frowned at this, he was telekinesis on himself! It was brilliant in a way I could appreciate.

Ancano seed to scoff and fire a bolt of Chain lightning. It shot through Pablo and broke apart. I spoke, "Tiid!"

Ti briefly slowed and I stepped out of the way of bolt of lighting. As ti sped up once more I saw Viree block the bolt that struck her. While Gwenn's Storm atronach blocked the one headed for her. It seed it was on defensive rather than attack like the rest.

I filled my palm with magic and used my own Telekinesis to halt Ancano. He was struck by Viree in the chest and he choked on the sudden lack of air. It seed she had struck him perfectly in the chest.

"You cannot stop ! I have the power to unmake the world in my hands!" Magic flowed into him and I was impressed. However it ant very little to , "Kest!" I was nest to him in a second and I slamd Sable Wave into his chest. His eyes went wide and he relased a wave of magic.

It blew back and sent several of us stumbling. "First the atronachs! Die!" Pablo exploded into chunks from a fire ball. I dodged as a ray of frost slamd into Minerva and headed toward .

She survived, but barely. He briefly hesitated which allowed Viree to rush him. I looked at Gwenn, she was making head way on closing the eye. However suddenly I saw Ancano in front of her. What spell had he used? I snapped my eyes back to where he was and saw the ashy pile created from Minerva.

Viree yelled, "Do that thing again Vek!"

She hadn't really told anything important. However I knew what she wanted. "Tiid!"

Ti slowed down and I saw a pair of boots close in on Ancano's head. I rolled my eyes and spoke once more as ti returned. "Kest!"

I grabbed Gwenn and removed her from getting her head crushed by so kind of lee shock spell. She breathed out, "Oh my god, like I thought I was gonna die."

Ancano was stunned by the boots, but he spoke. "You pest! You threw a pair of boots at !"

Viree stuck her tongue out as I stood up straight. He had taken almost no damage and I wondered how we were gonna stop him. He was healing not through restoration, but by pure mana. I rolled my eyes at the simplicity I had missed. "Gwenn have Tron to grab Ancano."

She nodded and Tron moved, I shouted to Viree. "Help the atronach,"

Ancano looked stunned as he was grabbed and his arms back. "Release !"

Sparks began to form in his hands, but Gwenn understood exactly what to do next. The Staff of Magnus fired a beam of mana that suppressed Ancano's magic. The magic he was going to cast ended and his eyes went wide.

With him suppressed I unsheathed Sable Wave once more. Two quick slices made him fall to the ground. His arms were removed cleanly. Gwenn stepped backwards, but I pointed back to the Eye. "Get to work."

She moved past and looked away from the blood. Ancano was disard, however I wasn't done with him yet. Purple mist filled my hand, "You answer my questions and I won't soul trap you and add you to my collection."

He spat, "You get nothing from ."

Viree smiled, "Oh, We have ways of making you talk! Hehe." She smiled like she had waited to use that line.

I rolled my eyes, "Look, I just want to know how you planned on skipping into the next cycle."

His eyes widened, but he tried to mask his shock. I sighed, "Did you think others wouldn't put it together or try to do sothing similar? I an, isn't that why you were looking into dwer and their technology?"

His whole body stiffened to prevent revealing any expression. Though that in itself revealed information, this is why you didn't make mages into agents. "You aren't very good at hiding anything. So I am going to tell you my guest, you can either tell the truth or try to poorly hide your reaction. If you answer I won't soul trap you, but if you don't answer . Viree here is going to break your vertebrae in your spine while I soul trap you over and over again."

Gwenn stiffened at my words and stepped further away from us. Viree though was grinning at the chance to do exactly as I said. Ancano said nothing nor give any indication of agreent. So I just started speaking.

"Here is my guess, you wanted to etch the Altr into the Aetherius. By doing so the mana within the next cycle would converge into the Altr. This sadly relies on the idea that magic won't change in the next cycle or that Altr will establish the sa culture. The silly thing is that, while you could etch the traits of an Altr into mana. You can't etch an ethereal idea such as culture into man."

His eyes flicked down half way through my speech. I watched his reaction careful as he contemplated. "Here is where I think you wanted to use the Eye of Magnus. If it was an item created by the god of magic. You had hoped it could copy information such as the Thalmor and so on. Allowing the next cycle to converge into what you want. You also likely have so back up plan to send so specific individuals into the next cycle too."

Ancano finally sighed, "You are just going to heal as your pet attacks . You didn't say that, but I can see where your mana is converging. If you tell why you would waste your ti doing such a thing, I will answer you the way you want."

I smiled, "It gives experience and training in conjuration and restoration magic. It also provides a so experience in intimidation. I need to work on that skill after all."

He frowned, "I had thought the girl there was a monster of a genius who needed to be snuffed out. However I see she wasn't anything I should have feared. Yes we had hoped to do exactly as you said. So of the research we planned to use was stolen by a man from the college here. That is all I am willing to say."

I nodded and beheaded him in a second. Viree frowned, "I wanted to see how that power leveling thing worked, sha."

I shrugged, "I wasn't exactly willing to add him into my collection."

Gwenn continued to stay near the Eye of Magnus. However she entered the conversation anyway. "What do you an collection?"

Viree pointed at , "He has a artifact that can contain multiple souls. I think it was a soul gem or sothing at so point."

I nodded, "It was the Star of Azura, converted into the Black Star by a powerful vampire mage I know. Which later I used to try and capture the soul of Potema. I succeeded, but the Black Star changed to the imnse power of Potema. Though I have a feeling Azura might have interfered a little."

Gwenn nodded, "Oh you are referring to Cleanse the Stars quest from elderscrolls seven, right?"

So she had played at least elderscrolls five and seven. I snapped my fingers, "Exactly, in the quest yo-"

Viree interrupted , "No one cares! She clearly knows the quest and I'm sorry Vek, but I do think we have slightly more important things to do."

I blinked, "That is fair." I looked at the Eye of Magnus. It was almost closed, which ant I had to ready myself for a new confrontation. I needed to reward Viree later.

----Fun fact, I had to rewrite this Chapter several tis. For whatever reason the Chapter wouldn't save at points and when my power went out it deleted my progress. Not even the triple save was helping .----
