Waking up the snow you think one would be cold. However I felt rather warm covered in snow. Paarthurnax spoke, "It seems you are awake. Don't be a shad of falling asleep while ditating it happens to the best of us."

I smirked at him, "Why would I be a shad when I have succeeded?"

Paarthurnax raised an eyebrow, "Oh, have you really? Can you prove it?"

I paused, "I'm not sure actually..."

I had unlocked the skill tree, but obviously I required an actual shout to use. I opened up my magic tab and sure enough a new tab was added. Instead of the standard Shouts tab it was labeled Thu'um. It made sense, if the skill tree was in Dovahzul the tab would likely be in Dovahzul as well.

Paarthurnax questioned, "Well? Can you actually use the voice? Zu'u Los Saraan Naal Pogaas Frin!"

I waved him off and looked through the tab. Both surprisingly and not surprisingly the tab was filled. Though several shouts were grey and unusable. While others had multiple words highlighted. Fire breath being one of the few that had all three words unlocked.

"Yol Toor Shul!" I spoke in my usually tone, and fire burst out from the sound. However my throat burned and the fire splashed the ground without much force.

Paarthurnax laughed at my pain, but explained my problem. "You must speak the words with force. You will hurt yourself if you use your normal speaking voice. The power will travel backwards into you if you do not push the words forward with force. However to master the thod within a a day and a half is still impressive. Especially since you slept through a third of that ti."

I rubbed my throat and nodded, "That makes sense, but the sleeping was important. It is what made the power real to . Outlined the power and gave it form or what not."

Paarthurnax nodded, "You used sleep to solidify the idea. Allowing you to awaken the power through lucidity with your sleep. A clever work around, though I suggest you avoid more direct short cuts. This wasn't really an easy path, so I can't truly call it a short cut."

I nodded, "Fair, the easy path is sothing anyone can do. While I did sothing only I could likely do." Which was true, even if the other players used the dreamscape to create realization of a skill tree. They lacked the material and talent for morization of Dovahzul like I did.

Paarthurnax stared at , "How humble of you."

I shrugged, and began browsing the Thu'um tab. I had several normal shouts unlocked, though certain shouts were blacked out. Call Dragon, specifically Odahviing couldn't be called. The shout for Durnehviir was also similar blacked out. However shouts for calling Paarthurnax and Maarnid were both available.

"Hey, can I call dragons I haven't t before?" I looked at Paarthurnax and he paused in thought.

Paarthurnax shook his head, "Technically it would work, but you would have to be powerful enough for the dragon to respect it. The dragonborn likely could ignore this restriction since if he were to call a dragon. They would sense his unique power from the voice."

That explained the reason why call dragon wasn't available for certain dragons. "Do you think they would co if i had all of Asgeld's books? You said you sensed them."

Paarthurnax thought about it, "Maybe...? Hard to say exactly, but may I ask why you want to call a dragon? Anyone specific?"

I nodded, "A dragon nad Durnehviir, the guy is trapped in the soul cairn. I wish to give him a chance to return to the mortal realm. That and use him for obvious labor reasons."

Paarthurnax nodded, "Hmmm, Durnehviir... I rember him. A dragon who delved into the necromantic arts. He designed several shouts to control, summon and create the undead. To summon him without eting him would be hard. One cannot naturally travel to the Soul Cairn. You may require a very powerful Soul Gem. I do not know how many lives you would need to take to summon Durnehviir, but if one could figure out a work around it might be you."

He had a glint of interest in his eyes. I nodded, "He can't sustain himself outside the Soul Cairn due to its effects on his immortal body. So if we could supply his body with the needed magic... I may need to help the college of winterhold."

Paarthurnax looked at , "How so? Do they have a powerful enough artifact to sustain Durnehviir in the mortal realm? and speaking of him. How did he get trapped in the Soul Cairn?"

I nodded, "The eye of Magnus, I'm sure you rember such a artifact? A dragon priest keeps the staff and the tomb it was found in is that of one of the forgotten Gauldur brothers. As for Durnehviir, he was tricked. He was to protect a woman while she stayed hidden within the soul cairn. They forgot to ntion the woman was a vampire and couldn't be hurt by the Soul Cairn."

Paarthurnax nodded along, "The being tricked aligns with the knowledge I know. He was never the wisest, and the ideal masters that rule the Soul Cairn are far more clever than he. As for the artifact, I do rember it. In fact that is what I had likely sensed from the north not long ago. Archmage Gauldur was a good man, but a terrible father. I had once t him on his own journey for knowledge on Thu'um."

I raised an eyebrow, so he knew how to use shouts? That made a lot of sense. Most high level Draugr could, so it made sense an archmage could. Paarthurnax spoke, "Enough about dragon calling, what other shouts can you use? Do you feel the power in your bones? Your specific morization of Dovahzul excites and I wish to know what you can do."

I laughed, "You just wish to compare to the many disciples you have taught."

He nodded, "This is true, most disciples required many days to learn a single shout let alone actually learning the way of the voice. You are unique in this regard and might be comparable to the dragonborn in your speed of learning shouts. Though I suspect this is due to your talent in the art of languages and speechcraft."

I paused at that, had speechcraft given a strange talent for language? I noted that in the back of my mind to test at so point. Speechcraft and Alteration were my specialties, perhaps both gave a talent in related subjects that increased my learning. Perhaps that was why I struggled to learn the Thu'um on my own.

"You just opened a whole can of worms for . However that is sothing only I need to thank about. As for the shouts..." I looked over to the Thu'um tab. I left out the greyed out shouts as the list consisted of a number I didn't wish to count. It seed this was the drawback of morizing Dovahzul. "I know about one word in 41 shouts, 26 of those I know two words, and of those 26 half of them I know three words. Finally I apparently can use three shouts that consist of more than three words. Two being a four word shout and one being a five word shout."

Paarthurnax stared at dumbfounded. It was interesting to see a dragon get tongue tied. "Y-You can use 41 unique shouts? I suppose I should ask how do you identify that they are unique?"

I laughed, "That's easy. A perfect example is actually the shout Storm Call. I do not have a great enough comprehension of the word wrath to use all three words. However my understanding of storm and lightning are fine."

Paarthurnax nodded, "Ah, I see that makes more sense. However I still wonder how you can identify which shouts you know. Though I can only assu it is due to your uniqueness compared to the average mortal. Such as your use of deep storage magic, without knowing the spell or even casting it."

I nodded, "Pretty much. Do you want the list of completed shouts?"

Paarthurnax paused, "That would be a total of thirteen? Three of which are complex Thu'um." He nodded, "Yes tell about them I am curious."

I cleared my throat, "To start I obviously know Fire breath, second is Frost breath. After that is Unrelenting Force, Drain Vitality, Elental Fury, Beco Ethereal, Whirlwind Sprint. The four word shouts are called Storm Breath and Call Blizzard. The last shout is called Roar of Disaster."

Paarthurnax took a second, "I am not familiar with Roar of Disaster. What are the words?"

So Storm Breath and Call Blizzard were normal. I responded, "Strun Kest Riik Krast Kem, Storm Tempest Gale Winter Obliteration."

Paarthurnax stared, "Obliteration? That is an odd one. How is that one of your understood words?"

I thought about it myself, and as I started to say sothing it hit . "Perhaps Obli- Oh! It is because I made Sable Wave. I literally Obliterated two daedric artifacts. The process was through reforging, however I erased them. They cannot be returned, they cannot be remade, they cannot be copied."

Paarthurnax nodded, "You understand it through action rather than direct knowledge. That is common, nicely done."

I frowned, "It is lucky really, I don't think it is much of an achievent. That doesn't matter though, what do I do now?"

Paarthurnax paused, "y Los Zu'u, I hadn't thought about the possibility you would learn Thu'um so qui-" He paused again mid-sentence. "You are lucky, though I suggest you hang onto sothing."

I instantly dropped to the ground. I didn't know what he sensed, but I wasn't standing straight up for it. A second passed and suddenly the mountain shook. At first I thought the earthquake ca from down the mountain. However when Paarthurnax drifted his head toward the north I scrambled to my feet.

A giant beam of light was piercing the sky. I frowned, "That is the college of winterhold."

Paarthurnax nodded, "Yes, it seems sothing terrible has happened. Do you know how to fix that? That power... It will vaporize all of Winterhold, perhaps even all of the Pale region too."

I snapped my head to Paarthurnax and shouted, "What?"

Paarthurnax shook his head, "The magic in the air... It is increasing rapidly. If it is activated the mana will explode." He looked at , "Do you know how to fix that? To stop whatever disaster is happening?"

I looked at the beam of pure mana. "I can, but... Surely others can fix it?"

He looked at , "Do you trust them too?"

I sighed, "No, no I don't." I knew I didn't the mont I spoke the words. Paranoia was my middle na.

The player in the college, if there was one. I had no idea who they were, how capable they are. "Paarthurnax? Can you bring to the Labyrinthian?"

Paarthurnax paused, "Yeah, I can do that for you. No! I can do more than that. et back at High Hrothgar. If things go poorly I believe you will need to teach Kyne the Dragonrend shout."

I snapped to Paathurnax. He knew? I shook my head, "I understand, with that much mana. A dragon may seek it out."

Paarthurnax nodded, "or worse... Alduin may try to take the artifact for himself and use it to destroy High Hrothgar."

I frowned, "A second Red Mountain event."

Paarthurnax nodded, "He would only act if the mana is at the peak of its potential. Hurry down the mountain. I will scout ahead."

With that I started to run down the mountain. Things may not go poorly, but and Paarthurnax were the type to prepare for the worse. That was why when in ga if the dragonborn ca to slay Paarthurnax, the dragon was ready for the fight. It only made sense we should act against the worse case scenario.
