Selas stroked his chin, then smiled "You see, for the last six years, our lovely prince has only returned to the estate six tis. Once a year, so when I took the job. It was a decent pay, fifty million Khyrn a month. I an, why not...he was barely around. Then you ca along and suddenly he rembers he has a ho. As for my employer, I can only give you a hint."

He stood up and walked back to the chair.

"Here’s how you’ll find my employer, it’s my favorite quote ’The knife that cuts deepest is the one held by soone you call family.’ Do you truly believe people are what they say they are?"

With this he stood up and walked to the entrance. "It’s been nice talking to you madam. You are truly smart and intuitive. May we et again one day, on better terms too."

Lin Yue watched him leave, her eyes still narrowed.

She couldn’t figure out what he was up to but she was sure this man would escape this place tonight.

’The knife that cuts deepest is the one held by soone you call family.’

Wouldn’t this an the culprit would he Varn? Who would hate Uriel enough to infiltrate his ho.

She stood up as well, looking up her eyes and t Uriel at the watch room.

Lin Yue couldn’t make out his expression.

Solemnity?

Anger?

She couldn’t tell, but what she did know was that he was holding their son.

They t outside the interrogation room, as he handed Auriel over.

"Here you go, you can stop your worries now. He’s perfectly fine."

Auriel cooed, visibly happy to see her.

"It’s way past your bedti."

After she said this, her gaze landed on Uriel.

"I’m guessing you heard what he said, I’ll leave the rest to you. Now you know who’s behind all this, I hope you’ll let Mira and the others whom you’ve imprisoned and judged wrongly go."

Uriel nodded as the two guards at the entrance of the detention center appeared.

"They will escort you back."

Lin Yue nodded, told Auriel to wave his father goodbye before walking out with the guard.

Imdiately they were out of sight, the whole detention center could feel his rage.

"Ah. It’s seem I’ve been way too lenient which gave my uncle the audacity to pull this kind of stunt. Magus!"

The guards all moved back, no one wanted to be a scapegoat.

Magus appeared within seconds. He, too, stood at a reasonable distance.

"What are your orders?"

"Kill them all. Except for Mira and Selas. Release Mira, Selas will die by my hands. At dawn we will pay a long awaited visit to my uncle."

Magus nodded, he looked at his data tablet only for his frown to deepen.

"I’m sorry. It seems Selas has escaped."

-_-!!

"What do you an, Selas has escaped?"

Magus stood another step back. He could feel the bloodlust emanating from Uriel even though he was at a reasonable distance.

"It seems he had a teleportation device and disappeared as soon as he returned to his cell."

Uriel let out a laugh, so cold it made the n shiver in fright.

"He called a beast, with an evil heart. Selas wasn’t lying, but I was scared Lin Yue would see for what I truly am. I’ve been waiting for the mont when I can finally tear him from limb to limb and you tell he’s gone?"

Magus wiped the perspiration off his forehead.

"Very well. Continue with the rest, I will take care of Selas myself."

Magus nodded, quickly turned to leave.

Happy to be anywhere but here.

Mira was first released, Magus apologized for the discomfort before heading her up.

Now all that was left were Lilia and Elara.

"His Majesty has sent here to take your lives. Don’t worry, your family will be compensated. I will make it quick and painless."

Lilia’s eyes imdiately watered.

"Sir—Please."

"I’m sorry, all actions have consequences. This is just the outco of the choices you made."

BANG!

BANG!

Elara made no sound until the very end.

"Soone discard these bodies and clean the cells."

After that he wiped the gun clean and left the cell.

He joined Uriel at the watch room, telling him he had completed the task.

"Good job. Begin back pay for those affected by this sche."

Magus nodded "I’ll begin that imdiately sir. There isn’t much for you to do, so why not head up and be with your family. We’ll take care of things here."

Uriel nodded and headed towards the entrance.

anwhile, Lin Yue had finally placed Auriel back into the bassinet after bathing and feeding him.

She looked at the ti.

She picked up her phone and laid back.

Auriel was clean, fed and asleep.

Her mission was completed.

She has taken her bath.

Finally so "" ti.

"I wonder if they have reels here. I don’t mind watching a CEO drama that makes no sense but has a lot of views."

She strolled through the phone, wondering which app has reels.

Then her idea bulb lit up.

She had a virtual assistant to help with this.

"Hey Luma, please open the reels app"

Ding!

"Got it, Lin Yue. What kind of drama are you looking for? Fluffy? Spicy? Red flags? Green flags? Or Unhinged?"
