"Isn’t six children a bit much? I just gave birth to Auriel, how can you be so certain that I’ll be a good mother?"

[I HAVE FULL CONFIDENCE IN YOU. YOU ARE A NATURAL. PLUS, YOU HAVE A GOOD MAN BY YOUR SIDE. AND HE HAS EXPERIENCE. DID I NTION THE STRAYS?]

"You ntioned it."

[GOOD. WELL, I WILL LEAVE YOU TO YOUR ROMANTIC MONT. CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN ON THE BIRTH. AURIEL IS PERFECT. 10 OUT OF 10. WOULD RECOMND.]

The screen flickered and dimd.

Lin Yue huffed, this was outrageous.

They sat in comfortable silence for a mont, hands still clasped.

Then Uriel spoke again. "I love that you nad him Auriel. Can I ask how you thought of it?"

Lin Yue smiled. "He was born at dawn. After two days of labor, the sun was finally rising through the windows. And I thought... new day. New beginning. Dawn. Auriel." She paused, her smile softening. "And also... I found out your na ans light. Dawn is when the light returns. So you know, it kind of pairs well."

Uriel smiled, he thought she had chosen the na randomly but now he understood she has chosen it carefully.

Uriel was quiet for a long mont. Then he looked toward the bassinet. "His full na will be Auriel Chaohong Khynos-Lin."

She blinked. "Chaohong?"

"I did research on your culture. Chinese nas often carry deep aning. Chaohong ans ’morning swan.’ I just thought it suits him." He glanced at her. "If you do not like it, we can choose sothing else."

Lin Yue felt tears prick her eyes again. "I like it, I was also surprised you had gone out of your way to do that."

"I wanted our son to have sothing from your world too. Not just mine."

She looked at the bassinet, at their son sleeping peacefully. "Auriel Chaohong Khynos-Lin. That is a lot of aning for such a tiny person."

"He will grow into it."

She laughed softly. "Yeah. He will."

Auriel made a small sound in his sleep, a tiny squeak, and they both looked at him.

"He is perfect," Lin Yue whispered.

Uriel squeezed her hand. "He is."

A knock on the door interrupted their mont.

"Enter," Uriel called.

The door opened and Magus walked in, followed by five other n. All of them carried piles of gifts wrapped in bright colors and soft fabrics. Lin Yue recognized only Magus, the fox beastman with clever eyes who always seed to be everywhere at once.

They set the gifts down carefully, stacking them on a nearby table until it was completely covered. Then they lined up and bowed.

"Congratulations, Your Majesty," Magus said. "And congratulations to you, Madam Lin Yue. May the child have a long life and a prosperous future."

The others echoed the sentint. "Long life and prosperous future."

Lin Yue smiled, a bit overwheld by the sudden influx of people and gifts. "Thank you. All of you."

The youngest of the group stepped forward. He was boyish, with bright eyes and dark hair, looking barely old enough to be out of training. He approached the bassinet and peered inside at Auriel.

His face lit up. "He looks just like you, boss! Like you were the one who carried him in your womb."

Bang.

A heavy slap landed at the back of his head.

Magus pinched his brows, his ears flattening in exasperation. "Do not say rubbish! You just got here! Have so courtesy."

The young man rubbed his head, wincing. "Ouch! I was just complinting the baby. The boss does not mind. Do you, boss?"

Uriel stared at him with an unreadable expression.

"What kind of complint is that?" Magus hissed. "Kyle."

Kyle shrugged, still rubbing his head. He looked genuinely confused. "It ans he looks like his father. That is a good thing, right?"

Lin Yue bit her lip to keep from laughing.

Uriel spoke, his voice flat. "You just got here and it has already gotten damn noisy. If my kid wakes up, I will have your heads. He is a fussy baby." He gestured toward the pile of gifts. "Now, why do you not introduce yourself and what you brought? I am quite curious."

Kyle straightened imdiately. He grabbed his gifts from the pile and walked to the front of the bed, bowing deeply.

"Good day, Madam. Congratulations on your successful delivery." He straightened and t her eyes. "My na is Kyle. Kyle Khynos. I am part of the force, but for the anti, I will be yours and the baby’s bodyguard." He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "Eh, I do not know what is suitable for babies, so I just got toys, diapers, and cutie onesies."

Lin Yue finally let herself laugh. "Toys, diapers, and cutie onesies are perfect. Thank you, Kyle."

Kyle bead.

Behind him, Magus sighed heavily.

Uriel’s lips twitched. Just barely.

The next man stepped forward. He was in his thirties, calm and steady. "I am Dravin. I brought blankets. Soft ones." He placed them on the table.

"Thank you, Dravin."

The third man stepped forward, older, grey in his hair. "I am Soran. I brought a mobile for above the bassinet. The little ones like to watch them move."

"That is so thoughtful. Thank you, Soran."

The fourth man, sharp-eyed and serious. "I am Kael. I brought books. Picture books. For when he is a bit older."

Lin Yue’s heart ward. "Thank you, Kael."

The fifth man stepped forward, broad and built like a fighter. "I am Torvin. I brought a little wooden sword. For when he is old enough to play." He looked almost embarrassed. "My son liked his at that age."

Uriel spoke. "Good choice."

Torvin nodded, pleased.

Then Magus stepped forward. He gestured to the large pile of gifts still on the table. "I brought the practical things. A stroller, a walker, a bathtub, bottles, baby food supplies, diapers in various sizes, and a few other necessities." He paused. "I may have gone overboard."

Lin Yue stared at the pile, then at him. "Magus... that is everything. How did you get all of this so quickly?"

Magus ear twitched. "I have resources."

Uriel spoke. "He mobilized half the palace staff the mont you went into labor."
