Ava Sterling quickly returned with the printed script and imdiately spoke as soon as she entered, "Poe Vaughn, I’ve got it printed, let’s play!"

The mont the door opened, Ava excitedly announced her entrance, eager to not waste a single mont.

At this mont, Poe Vaughn stood in front of the bar, holding his phone to his ear, his expression indifferent, devoid of any emotional fluctuation, and utterly without affection.

It was as if the person on the other end of the line had nothing to do with him.

Hearing the cheerful voice, Poe looked over and saw a radiant smile.

At that mont, a warmth appeared in his rciless eyes as he opened his lips and said, "Don’t call again."

After saying this, he hung up, added the number to the blacklist, put his phone on the bar, and also set down the glass he was holding before walking towards Ava.

Ava, upon reaching the living room, noticed Poe standing behind the bar on the phone, even more so when she saw the glass of wine in his hand, her eyes widened in surprise.

He was drinking alone.

Moreover, it was when she wasn’t around. What did he an by that?

Drinking alone and not inviting her?

Seeing Poe hang up, Ava imdiately voiced out, "Poe Vaughn, why are you drinking? And drinking alone? You didn’t even invite ?"

Watching the man approaching her, Ava, holding the printed script, asked without reservation.

She wasn’t a big drinker, but drinking was more fun with two people, what fun was there in drinking alone?

And in the short ti she took to print the docunts, he started drinking alone, Ava found it strange.

Poe looked at the stack of A4 papers in Ava’s hand, about the thickness of a book, and his gaze landed on her face, "Want a drink?"

"Well, not really, but seeing you drink alone is no fun, we could drink together."

"Hmm, let’s drink together."

Ava imdiately smiled, running over to Poe and handing the script right in front of him, "Look, what is this?"

The A4 paper had clear lines of dialogue, with "SCRIPT" bolded on the very first page.

One didn’t need to look further to know what it was.

Poe’s eyes flickered, pausing for two seconds on the word "SCRIPT," then looked up at Ava.

Obviously, he was waiting for her to continue.

He really hadn’t expected her to bring a script, had no clue how she intended to play with it.

This wasn’t his area of expertise.

Ava t Poe’s deep gaze and knew what he ant, so she imdiately linked arms with him, grinning, "You’ve never rehearsed a script with soone, have you?"

Before Poe could respond, Ava hurriedly added, "Neither have I."

"I think this would be great fun, let’s do it together, we can act out the characters in the script, don’t you think it’ll be interesting and fun?"

Ava quickly expressed her pre-prepared pitch, looking particularly delighted at Poe, expressing her desire to play, purely for fun, nothing else.

After listening to Ava’s candid words, Poe didn’t say a word.

One could say, the mont Ava ntioned "rehearsing the script," he understood her intention.

At that mont, looking at the person scheming in front of him, all her thoughts laid bare before him.

Seeing Poe suddenly ignore her, Ava’s smile froze, especially under his penetrating gaze, she couldn’t help but evade his eyes.

However, for her to admit she had ulterior motives, she would never admit it, not even if her life depended on it.

So...

Ava imdiately furrowed her brows, shaking Poe’s hand, "Honey, will you agree or not?"

This sweet, intentionally coquettish voice gave Ava goosebumps herself.

It was downright nauseating.

But for her career, sacrificing a bit of herself was necessary.

Sighing, Ava glanced at Poe pleadingly, "Hon, I’ve never done it before, can we do it together, please~~?"

Each ti Ava added a "please" for effect, she felt extrely uncomfortable.

At that mont, Ava truly admired those actors who could just dive into character at any mont, truly impressive!

Poe looked at this person clearly trying to muddle through and opened his lips, "Ava Sterling, I can help you with work, but..."

Ava was taken aback but quickly widened her eyes, montarily filled with a guilty gleam.

Her thoughts were seen right through by him.

Incredible!

But, did this an he agreed?

Instantly, Ava’s eyes lit up, not caring about admitting anything, all that mattered was his agreent.

"Great, great, honey, you’re the best!"

Ava said, moving closer to give Poe a grateful kiss.

But just as she was about to act, Poe continued, "I have conditions."

Ava imdiately ceased her puckered lips ant for Poe, then blinked, looking at him, "Tell , any condition, I’ll agree!"

What condition could he propose?

She was fully aware of her situation, and in such a context, he’d undoubtedly not ask for anything dreadful, just so playful whims.

She understood.

All too well.

Poe said, "During filming, there should be no intimate acts with any male actors."

"No passion scenes, intimate scenes, or any romance-related scenes are allowed."

Ava’s mouth opened wide in disbelief.

It wasn’t that she couldn’t fathom Poe saying this, but she hadn’t expected him to seriously and sternly state such terms at this particular mont.

It was as if he wasn’t joking or playing around.

Not as if, he was indeed serious.

He was willing to help her with lines, but the premise was her agreent to all his conditions, making it seem as if she had to rely solely on him for practice, with no one else.

Ava faced this intense gaze filled with danger, her heart clenched tightly.

Uncontrollably.

She hadn’t thought much of it at first, not intending to take on passion or intimate scenes, but Poe’s clear restrictions made it feel like a binding prohibition, stifling her freedom.

Ava knitted her brows, falling silent.

Poe observed her hesitation, assuming she might refuse, and narrowed his eyes, "What? Do you want intimate contact with anyone other than ?"

"Ava Sterling, don’t forget the agreent you signed."

He seed to have touched a sensitive spot, ntioning the agreent for the first ti.

As if intending to use that docunt as a restraint, ensuring she couldn’t act wilfully.

Hearing this threatening remark, Ava’s brows furrowed instantly, discomfort prickling in her heart like needles.

Especially upon hearing Poe ntion the agreent she’d signed, it felt like a reminder that everything now was illusory.

As if she were dreaming.

He was reminding her not to overthink, not to assu that his kindness allowed her unbridled freedom to do whatever she pleased.

She couldn’t.

She was ultimately restricted, under his control, his will dictating her limits.

He reminded her of the disparity in their statuses.

For the first ti, Ava felt an overwhelming, indescribable emotion within her, both hurt and infuriating.

This blend of hurt and anger prompted Ava to swiftly look up and declare, "I know!"

"I’m fully aware of the terms I signed, and I don’t need your reminder!"

"I won’t engage in intimate contact with other n, nor will I take the kinds of scenes you ntioned, even if they happen after our agreent ends."

"Rest assured, I rember everything. I would never do anything against you during our agreent period, and I will never forget our respective statuses, never overestimate my place."

"Don’t worry, Mr. Vaughn!"
