The dinner was almost ready, but Ava still helped the housekeeper, and soon, a sumptuous dinner was served on the table.

In Ava’s eyes, Poe Vaughn seed like the type who paid great attention to detail, exuding an air of sophistication—clearly a young master from a wealthy family.

He should be eating Western food.

Only Western cuisine could match soone of his status.

But the housekeeper prepared the most authentic Chinese food.

While cooking, Ava chatted with the housekeeper and learned that Poe Vaughn always had Chinese food at ho and didn’t eat Western food.

This surprised Ava greatly.

From her observations and experiences, wealthy n of status all preferred Western food.

Especially those who had spent ti abroad, they rarely ate Chinese food.

But the housekeeper told her that wasn’t the case; Poe Vaughn seldom ate Western food, and even the Vaughn Family rarely did.

This was completely unexpected for Ava.

She thought that wealthy people loved everything Western, but it seed that wasn’t true.

The housekeeper told her that the elderly lady of the house said ho-grown things are the best.

What might seem good and glamorous isn’t necessarily the real deal.

This comnt shook Ava’s heart; for the first ti, she clearly understood what a true noble family ant.

What a genuine aristocratic lineage looked like.

After chatting with the housekeeper, Ava discovered that she was an old-tir with the Vaughn Family and had always taken care of Poe Vaughn’s daily life.

Incredibly not ordinary.

Therefore, after this chat, Ava gained newfound respect and admiration for the housekeeper.

Never underestimate such a housekeeper; often, they are key figures.

Not to be underestimated.

"Madam, it was hard work today, and still you helped out."

"It’s nothing, nothing. I wasn’t busy anyway."

"Besides, if he delays because of a business trip, that wouldn’t be good."

They chatted as they set the table.

Poe Vaughn had not co downstairs yet, and Ava noticed there was no movent from upstairs.

She rembered him saying he’d leave for a business trip in the afternoon, but now it was five in the evening.

Was he leaving tonight or did plans change, and he wasn’t going?

"The food is ready, madam. Please call sir down for dinner."

The housekeeper’s voice broke Ava’s thoughts, and she quickly replied, "Okay, I’ll go right away."

She imdiately went upstairs, jogging lightly, her slippers making a tapping sound.

The villa’s atmosphere beca lighter and more cheerful.

The housekeeper stood downstairs, watching the woman swiftly go up, and smiled.

Their madam was such a lovely person.

Ava walked straight to the bedroom; the door was closed, and she couldn’t see inside.

Ava rolled her eyes, thinking he was really guarding against her, even keeping the door shut in broad daylight.

Even though she thought this, she didn’t speak ill of him and gently knocked on the door.

Poe Vaughn had already showered, his hair was dried, and he was standing in the wardrobe changing into a clean shirt and trousers.

At that mont, he was fastening the buttons of his shirt with his fingers.

"Oh, Poe, now that you’ve registered, when are you bringing my granddaughter-in-law ho for a visit?"

The phone laid on the jewelry cabinet, showing an ongoing call.

Sharon Sheridan’s amused voice ca through the call, also clearly heard in the closet.

Poe Vaughn fastened the first button, then picked up his watch and put it on. Hearing the words from the phone, he replied, "In a few days."

"A few days? Why?"

"Could it be..."

Before Sharon Sheridan could finish, a knocking sound ca at the door.

Her voice stopped, and Poe Vaughn paused his actions and looked out.

Ava was standing outside the door, waiting for a response after knocking.

But there was no movent inside, not a sound; she knocked twice more, and said, "Poe Vaughn?"

Her clear voice ca through, distinctly reaching the phone.

On the other side, Sharon Sheridan’s eyes widened, and she covered her mouth, stifling a laugh.

That was her granddaughter-in-law’s voice!

Poe Vaughn heard the laughter on the phone, turned off the speakerphone, picked up the phone, and stepped out while Ava’s voice rang again, "Honey?"

Poe Vaughn stopped in his tracks.

He hadn’t hung up the call, so the word "honey" carried clearly to Sharon Sheridan’s ears, leaving her stunned, hardly daring to believe it.

Outside the door, Ava blinked her eyelashes, pressing her ear against the door to listen for any sounds inside.

She figured the first knock got no response because he wasn’t sure who it was, so he hadn’t co to open the door when she called his na.

But he still didn’t co, so was she calling wrong?

Should she be calling him "honey"?

Ava was quite certain of this, as it was clearly stated in their agreent, specifying that except for not sharing a bed, everything else was the sa as any other couple.

So, calling him "honey" should be fine.

Thus, Ava called again, "Honey?"

Poe Vaughn listened to the sound coming from outside the door, clear and bright, without a hint of hesitation or doubt, completely natural.

He said, "In a few days, I’ll bring her ho to see you."

With that, he ended the call and opened the door.

Ava was about to call again when the door suddenly opened.

She had her whole body pressed against the door, still trying to listen for sounds inside.

But she couldn’t hear a thing from inside and naturally didn’t know Poe Vaughn had co to open the door.

So...

When the door opened, she fell straight into Poe Vaughn’s arms...
