Ava Sterling accompanied Sharon Sheridan into the elevator, out of the company lobby, and out of the company, chatting all the way about her studies. When the car door opened, Sharon Sheridan lovingly said, "Alright, go on with your work, Grandma needs to head off too."

Sharon Sheridan’s voice was very gentle, completely different from how she spoke to others, exceptionally kind, like an ordinary old lady.

Ava nodded, "Grandma, take care of your health. Call if you need anything or if you miss . But if I’m busy, I might not be reachable from nine to eleven in the morning, and from two to five in the afternoon. Other tis should be fine."

"Alright, Grandma will rember that."

"Go on, then."

"No worries, I’ll watch Grandma get in the car."

Ava’s eyes curved with a smile, looking as innocent and well-behaved as a sweet child.

Sharon Sheridan felt relieved and got in the car.

Yvette, the housekeeper, bowed to Ava, and Ava imdiately nodded, saying, "Yvette, call if you need anything."

"Okay, young madam."

Yvette also smiled and got in the car. The car quickly drove away from Ava.

Ava stood there watching, her smile never fading, feeling utterly happy, and inwardly warm and cozy.

Her grandmother hadn’t lived a good life before passing away, but she gave Ava all her love. There’s a place in her heart reserved for her grandmother that no one else can replace.

And now, looking at Poe Vaughn’s grandmother, she felt that the old lady could sit alongside her own grandmother in her heart.

Watching the car disappear completely, Ava finally returned, took the elevator up, went to the makeup room, and joined the class with her teacher.

At this ti, the teacher’s expression had already returned to normal, but her attitude towards Ava was noticeably better.

If the attitude towards Ava was fifty before, now it was a hundred, or even more.

Ava noticed the change but didn’t think much about it, as her heart was fully focused on studying now, nothing else could distract her.

The car drove steadily through the traffic. Yvette glanced at the people in the rearview mirror. As the car drove away, the tall and beautiful figure also disappeared. She then turned her gaze back to the person sitting in the backseat.

Sharon Sheridan sat in the back, looking at the scenery flying past the window. Her wrinkled face was full of smiles.

The smile conveyed satisfaction, fondness, and reassurance.

Yvette smiled, saying, "This trip was quite pleasant."

Hearing her words, Sharon Sheridan’s eyes moved slightly, withdrawing her gaze to the scenery ahead. Her old eyes were full of smiles and relaxation, "Yes, it was nice."

Although this child had not fully integrated into The Vaughn Family, nor completely trusted the family yet, day by day, she was slowly letting go of her guard and beginning to accept The Vaughn Family.

Even towards her, the child had beco much more affectionate, no longer just going through the motions like at the beginning.

Indeed, just going through the motions.

This child, whether she does sothing sincerely or just with intention, is evident at a glance, with no hidden motives.

Truly simple, making people fond of her.

Looking at Sharon Sheridan’s appearance, Yvette knew that Sharon was extrely reassured. Whether it was regarding Poe Vaughn’s lifelong matters or the choice of their daughter-in-law, it was all satisfying.

One could say, most of her wishes had been fulfilled, leaving only a small part yet to be realized.

Yvette said, "Take your ti. All your wishes from your heart will surely co true."

Upon hearing this, Sharon Sheridan’s smile spread over her face, growing deeply and intensely.

It will certainly co true.

She had calculated long ago that Poe would have everything he ought to.

No rush.

...

Ava continued her usual studying, and in between, soone delivered dicine, Chinese herbal dicine.

This morning, the doctor prescribed it for her, brewed, and sent by a special delivery.

Ava drank it, feeling the bitterness scrunching her face, quickly asking Lauren Howell to buy so candy to keep in the makeup room, so she could have candy imdiately after taking the dicine.

It was horribly bitter, so bitter that there was no joy left in life.

Lauren Howell couldn’t help but laugh seeing Ava’s "better-off-dead" appearance, "Is it really that bitter?"

Ava simply said, "Tomorrow at noon, when it’s delivered, try a sip."

Ava feared bitterness.

It wasn’t the bitterness of life she feared, but the bitterness of dicine.

Every ti she drank herbal dicine, Ava felt unbearably uncomfortable as if the dicine was unbearably bitter.

Initially, Lauren Howell didn’t know Ava was afraid of the bitter dicine. After seeing her pained expressions, she beca curious and tried it herself, realizing it was bitter but not to the unbearable extent.

But Ava just couldn’t accept the bitterness.

Once, Lauren thought Ava was pretending, but after it happened several tis, Lauren realized that Ava genuinely couldn’t stand the taste of herbal dicine.

Yet, for her health, she had to drink it and imdiately eat candy afterward.

In recent years, Ava rarely consud herbal dicine. It had probably been two years since she last took it.

So, she had forgotten about this and hadn’t prepared candies in advance.

Seeing her like this now was amusing but prompted quick action, "I’ll place the order now, and it will arrive soon."

Just after saying that, Ava quickly gulped down a glass of water, feeling a bit better.

Lauren Howell was left laughing and crying.

It was break ti for the class, as the teacher had a phone call to take outside, leaving just the two of them in the makeup room.

After drinking water, Ava finally washed away the bitter taste and said, "Get the candy right away when it arrives."

After saying that, she waved at Lauren Howell, "Go ahead if you’re busy, I need to recover."

Lauren Howell: "..."

Just a bowl of herbal dicine, but Ava looked as if she’d been struck by lightning, leaning on the sofa not wanting to move.

Lauren Howell shook her head, feeling utterly helpless.

"Alright, call if you need anything."

"Hmm..."

Lauren Howell went out, leaving Ava on the sofa, closing her eyes to let herself get over the bitter sensation.

While she was resting, Poe Vaughn’s face popped into her mind.

Soon, Ava rembered sothing.

Today, she told the old lady she’d visit her this week, and it wasn’t a joke—she had one day off each week, on Sundays. She didn’t know if he did.

And she didn’t know when he would return.

Also, what day was it today?

Ava was living without keeping track of ti, not knowing the date or year.

She imdiately grabbed her phone to check the calendar.

Wednesday, four more days to go.

He should be back within these four days, right?

However, even if he did return, he might not have ti, but regardless, she would still go.

Yet, she should inform him about it.

Since they were a couple now, and the old lady was keeping a close watch, she had to tell him.

Thinking this, Ava was about to call Poe Vaughn, but then she rembered the ti was running short.

A class break was only ten minutes, almost up.

Better to send him a ssage, he’d naturally reply when he saw it.

Plus, he might be busy right now.

Without hesitation, Ava scrolled through her contacts, opened WeChat, and sent him a ssage.

After sending the ssage, the makeup room door opened, and the teacher ca in.

Ava imdiately perked up and stood up, "Teacher, shall we continue the class?"

The teacher had finished their call and, seeing the ti, nodded as soon as Ava spoke, "Alright."

The two resud the lesson, and after one more class, Ava would go on to teach the models.

anwhile, in lbourne.
