Ava Sterling was utterly baffled, having no clue what Poe Vaughn wanted to do.
Faced with a person wearing such a perplexed expression, Poe Vaughn shifted his gaze to the TV and said, "I’ll stay here a few days."
Ava Sterling: "..."
A few days...
He really wanted to stay a few days, but why? Where did he get this crazy idea to make such an unfathomable decision?
Ava’s eyes widened as she stared at the person gazing at the TV with a calm expression. She stood there stunned for a few seconds, then imdiately asked, "Why? Why stay here?"
It was as if she was asking, why don’t you go back to your own place instead of clinging to mine?
Poe Vaughn’s eyes turned deep as he shifted his gaze to her, contemplating deeply, "Why can’t I stay here?"
Ava Sterling: "..."
Holy moly!
Faced with his counter-question, she was completely speechless.
Silent!
Why couldn’t he stay here? Yeah, she could stay at his big villa, so why couldn’t he stay at her tiny apartnt?
It seed like the most normal thing.
But!
If word got out, anyone would surely ask, right?
Is a big villa better than a small apartnt? No need to ask, the answer is obvious, a big villa is better!
But here he was, choosing not to stay at the big villa but opting for the small apartnt. What was he thinking?
Was he tired of fine dining and wanting to change flavors, trying out so local dishes?
Ava thought that was probably the case.
This person, never having stayed in such a small apartnt, must have sparked so interest and decided to stay here.
So, he had the groceries delivered, does that an she needs to find a maid for him?
Otherwise, who will cook?
Ava’s expression was quite stiff, but faced with his deep eyes in the boundless night, she had to force a smile, chuckling awkwardly: "Sure, absolutely sure!"
"My ho is your ho. Feel free to stay as long as you like, but how do we deal with these groceries? Should I hire a maid for you to cook?"
He’s picky, an ordinary maid probably wouldn’t suffice.
Poe Vaughn said nothing.
Ava saw his silence as agreent and said, "I don’t know what kind of maid would match your taste. I think Quentin Quinn knows, or maybe get Mrs. Wei to co and cook three als a day for you."
Saying this, Ava’s eyes brightened, she blinked, a smile appearing on her face: "Yeah, let Mrs. Wei co, cook and clean, then leave."
"That will solve the problem!"
Ava thought this was a good solution.
After all, Mrs. Wei’s cooking suited his taste perfectly.
After saying this, without waiting for Poe Vaughn, Ava grabbed the bags, ready to take them to the kitchen, store the groceries in the fridge; otherwise, they’d spoil by tomorrow morning.
But just then, Poe’s deep voice flowed into her ears.
"You cook."
Ava was ready to take the bags to the kitchen, but paused upon hearing these sudden two words.
She cook?
She cook???
Ava doubted she heard correctly and imdiately looked at Poe Vaughn, but suddenly the light dimd.
The person who had been sitting on the sofa got up at so point, stood beside her, holding the bags, and opened his mouth: "Where to take them?"
These two large bags weren’t light, weighing tens of pounds; Ava could certainly manage, but she didn’t expect him to proactively help her out.
But that wasn’t the important thing, what mattered was, what he just said, she would cook.
Did he an asking her to cook for him?
Ava’s eyes widened, quickly saying: "Poe Vaughn, you don’t an you want to cook three als a day for you, right?"
Without waiting for Poe Vaughn’s response, Ava quickly said: "I’m very busy, I need to go to work every morning, don’t co back at noon, and even if I do, it’s evening. Plus, I’m currently taking acting classes, which ans I need to spare ti during the afternoons and evenings for learning, and I don’t have ti to cook."
Ava refused without thinking, not caring if he was a big shot. She was just busy, she had no ti, and he couldn’t just exploit her like this.
Exploiting her in bed was one thing, but this couldn’t happen.
It was such a waste of ti, obviously he could have soone else do it, why did he choose her?
Besides, she considered her taste to be fine, but it’s only suitable for her own palate, not necessarily his.
Why did he want her to do it?
Was he having a whim, changing not only living places but also flavors?
Ava felt like crying.
How could he be like this, so difficult to serve...
Poe Vaughn watched the unhappy person in front of him, opening his mouth: "You cook breakfast and dinner, don’t cook lunch, Mrs. Wei will handle it, and the food will be delivered to you."
"Co ho, cook dinner, then study."
He spoke as if he had already planned everything, making Ava’s face even unhappier.
Just breakfast and dinner, breakfast was fine, but dinner was not.
Cooking took a lot of ti, washing, chopping, frying, two people’s al size, even if she was fast, it would take at least half an hour.
And if his taste was to be t, it might take an hour.
One hour cooking, then eating, tidying up, that would an two hours gone.
She clearly only needed to eat for ten minutes, not worrying about anything else, now wasting over an hour unnecessarily, how unprofitable?
Ava’s brows furrowed, and furrowed tightly.
She looked at his expression and the way he spoke to see if she had any wiggle room, and found that maybe she did.
So, Ava softened her expression, imdiately leaned against him, holding him: "Poe Vaughn, you see, I never learned acting before, now I need to perform in a major director’s TV series, if it weren’t for the ratings, I wouldn’t care."
"But I’m soone who wants to do things well, I can’t drop the ball, so I need to study hard, and my ti is tight, I don’t have much ti, so I’m trying to make as much ti to study now."
"This dinner ti... is really too consuming, can I just do breakfast?"
Ava looked up, pitifully gazing at the person in front of her, pleading with him, hoping he’d agree.
At this point, she couldn’t be tough with him, being tough would make him not agree, so she had to take a soft approach.
Wear him down.
Slowly bargain with him, he had to agree.
Poe Vaughn focused on the montary vulnerability of the person in his arms, especially the calculations in her eyes, and opened his mouth: "Just a few days."
"Or maybe give you a choice, cook for a month, or a few days, you choose."
Ava’s face cracked, then she stared at the person without any room for negotiation, her expression becoming serious, ready to explode.
Poe Vaughn said: "Two months."
Ava Sterling: "..."
Poe Vaughn: "Three months."
Ava lost any thought of consideration and quickly said: "A few days, a few days, I agree!"
"Just a few days!"
She glared at him, quite unhappy, yet had to swallow her pride and capitulate, her expression montarily complex.
